Watching you guys work on bikes takes me back to the mid-Sixties and to the early 1970s. I used to frequent a local chopper shop that 2 pals of mine used to own. I recall the first time that I walked into their shop -- Buffalo Springfield and Quicksilver Messenger Service playing in the background -- clouds of reefer smoke wafting from behind an Indian blanket serving as a door between the parts/assembly room and the main showroom -- freshly-painted peanut tanks, banana tanks and Sportster tanks, along with myriad chromed parts inside display windows -- a copy of the first issue of Easyriders on the countertop. Besides the insane weather, we here in NE Ohio had a great Christmas weekend 2022. That Pan is one boss hoss! The bar/riser combo have a SoCal Bay Area style. A SoCal style sissy bar would complete the look. Once you get that Bendix/Zenith carb dialed in, that Pan should run like a champ. It's great to see John, Craig and Paul turning wrenches again. Merry Christmas Week 2022! See ya in 2023!

Riding in the 41 degree weather yesterday here in Lowell felt like a heat wave and this weekend we got 50’s! Oh oh ohhhh oh O! Oh oh ohhh O, Oh ohhhh oh O! the right stuff! NKOTB, no big deal!

John looks like a real straighty all clean shaven and short haired. That oil pour shot made me wonder...You running straight weight oil? Someone said I should be running SAE50 in my Knuck build, and that these engines were designed to run on SAE50 or 60. I responded with so was the small block Chevy, because multi weight oil was not available or they would have used it like they have since Evos came out. I reminded them that the S&S Knuck Pan Shovel manual recommends 20w50 from 30 to 100 degrees...SAE50 from 60 to 100 degrees and SAE 60 from 80 degrees up. That is Arizona in the summer. I run 20w50 year around in NoCal. I do run the tighter Evo bottom end specs for pinion and rod rollers though, with Evo 3 piece flywheels in my 88" Shovel. If it starts easy and does not feel like you are trying to spin a half seized engine when cold kicking, then I think the oil is not too thick. And remember...any oil is better than no oil.

Regarding the cordless DeWalt drill - that's because you have the cheap version and I've seen others complain about similar issues HOWEVER if you spend the extra money for the XRP version, you not only get a 1/2-inch drill (as opposed to 3/8-inch) but you also get a Hammer-drill that comes equipped with a full metal chuck, instead of the cheap plastic. Additionally the XRP also comes with 5Ah batteries compared to the cheap 2Ah so you get more than double the capacity out of the batteries! All these features together make for such an incredibly better built drill and I've had mine for many years now and never any complaints! Like the saying goes, you get what you pay for!
