I agreed, Christ saved me from my sins and my addictions. If i was too weak to even save myself from my own demons and sins, how can i save myself from going to hell?. Let that sink in. I'm humble with everyone, not only to God, but with everyone, i don't have anything to boast about it, i give all my thanks to the Lord who saved me and give me wonderfull things. Hallelujah!

@CatholicTruth101 God's standard to be in heaven is perfection/righteous. - Matthew 5v48 ' Ye therefore must be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect ' God, in his righteousness, won't accept anything less than this. We, therefore, need to be righteous/perfect in his eyes to be in heaven. This is achieved ONLY by what Jesus did through faith ALONE in him. - Hebrews 10v14 ' For by one offering he hath perfected FOREVER them that are sanctified (believers).' Galatians 2v16 ' Knowing that a man is not just by the works of the law (loving God and thy neighbour) but by the faith of Jesus Christ. Even we have believed in Jesus Christ that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and NOT by works of the law. For by the works of the law no flesh shall by justified. ' - Romans 4v5 'Now to him who worketh not but believeth in him who justifieth the ungodly his FAITH is accounted for righteousness. ' Therefore if being righteous before God depends on our repenting of sin, that would mean works, and that would mean stopping all sin which no one can do or achieve. Turning from sin doesn't blot out sin or make us forgiven and righteous. Only Jesus blood can do that- Hebrews 9v22

A church that does not preach the Gospel of salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone is not a church of God, but of the adversary.

@@CatholicTruth101 Or more plainly, "not only by faith" (οὐκ ἐκ πίστεως μόνον). James does not deny that we are justified by faith, as Abraham was in the moment he believed the Promise. But James adds that we are also justified by works when our faith is put to the test and our works demonstrate that we genuinely trust God (as Abraham was when he almost sacrificed his son).

@@thinkerj “Not only by faith” and “not by faith alone” mean the same thing. Further the Greek word in question (μόνον) can mean either only or alone, and no shortage of translation committees (even Protestant ones) render it alone. James clearly and explicitly taught that a faith which justifies is accompanied by works, so works certainly are required then.
