I was called to this Parkray room heater as it needed a new glass and was having trouble shutting down. What was supposed to be a quick job turned into something else completely! Enjoy! #sweepunit
The old parkray inset boiler fire, built to last. Bought an 88 with the glass strips to heat a cottage for £50. Did a good job at heating the rads and gravity hot water. The one with the glass strips in dark brown. Removals broke 2 of the strips. Replaced with 4mm fire glass, bit thicker than original. Really like my 11 year old woodwarm fireview 4.5kw stove though. So controllable, double glazed clear glass with fantastic build quality. Used as sole heating on my narrowboat. Even steel boiler not failed yet. Baffle plate, grate bars all original. Fireboards and door seals I replaced a year ago. Outer glass original. Inner replaced with Schott Robax glass as original crazed, now spare! Great that after 10 years solid use screws came out easy.
It's quite amazing how long the Parkray boilers last. Not so many about now tho. Lots of good ones removed and switched to gas. Woodwarms have a good reputation for quality. 👌
