Thanks for this podcast. I follow your channel for your Bible study tips but I'm also a special needs parent. As soon as he mentioned his book The Life We Never Expected, I went to Amazon and ordered it. I'm also going through an unexpected divorce and struggling with that so I am hoping to find encouragement for that as well. It helped to hear that others who read the book had gone through other things like divorce and it resonated with them.

Hi Faith, Could you possibly give us a list of the commentaries Andrew Wilson Mentioned. It was difficult to catch their titles and/or authors

I read this book a chapter at a time over a couple months, to give myself time to think about it. Thanks for sharing this interview. The speed of reading resonates with me so much. I have both these experiences. I agree that reading the Bible at medium speed does not work. It has to be fast or be slow. I have failed at reading the Bible in a year 45 times, based on my current age and when I met Jesus ------>laughing at myself.

Really liking the thing about reading the bible fast and slow.

The Isaiah commentary he mentioned was by John Oswalt and the other commentary of 1&2 Kings was by Peter Leithart. I saw a couple of people asked and I believe these were the ones mentioned.

Thanks for introducing this book, I'm really enjoying it and look forward to following Andrew around the web. You've mentioned several times that women's bible studies aren't on par with mens. This was surprising to hear and has answered some questions for me. I'm Catholic, and our bible studies are not gender specific. They are very meaty, drawing from a variety of commentaries and the writings of the early church fathers. I belonged to a non-denominational women's bible study and found the material very fluffy. I didn't realize that we were getting something different from the men's group. How odd.

Can you recommend a good, inexpensive commentary Bible/book
