Situations like this are exactly why batteries shouldn't be glued down like they are. Samsung over does it with the glue so much. They need to ease up on the adhesive a lot or at least add the pull tabs that nothing and apple have.

To the best of my knowledge parts are either recycled or sold to third companies who refurbish the parts if possible.

@@-ThatGuy- Usually so. As a repair technician, we can't immediately throw away the battery. We have to bring it to a center where they can properly recycle Phone batteries, because they are Lithium Ion (Li-ion)

I had to remove a battery from a Samsung galaxy A31 the other day, for whatever reason the adhesive they use for the battery is just overkill and unnecessary, makes a battery replacement/removal way harder.

Exactly. I don't mind that batteries aren't technically user replaceable. But at least ease up on this glue. It's overkill for what it's doing. I'd argue you technically don't even really need the glue that badly in most modern phones. The devices are so tightly packed that the battery isn't moving anyway.

In our country if we stuck this type of battery problem we use hard plastic just like x-ray sheet cut in rectangle small pieces 3 or 4 inches long and also cut the corner edges round as possible in that all rectangles... Put this piece between battery and cell phone move everywhere if its also stuck this use alcohol or thinner etc on plastic or x-ray sheet it will go to the gum and cut easily that gum if you move that sheet up down its also safe lcd screen flex... And sorry for my English

I repair computers, and the community cannot stress this enough; BE EXTRA CAREFUL AROUND SWOLLEN BATTERYS. The reason a battery swells is because of age or a defect in the battery that results in the creation of gasses, as the battery has no way to vent these gasses, it swells, these gasses are flammable and I’m pretty sure they’re toxic. Not just that, but when he said it could explode, he meant his shop could have burned down if his screwdriver slipped and stabbed the battery. Oh right, if the battery cannot expand anymore and more gasses are being produced, the battery will rip itself open and also burn your house down. So be careful around swelling batterys, I have had one explode on me, it is not a pleasant experience.
