@@judebloor5170 it’s more like a passing tone under the chord. If we were to analyze it, C# minor fits better within the key. Not necessarily augmentation or a lot of changes to the chord. You would need to ask if all those specific changes makes it a G chord

@@haileywachoski8624 No it’s right, the voice leading is better when going from G# to F# through that G augmented chord because the bassline just becomes a descending chromatic scale. It’s outside the scale sure but it sounds good because of the smother voiceleading.

That “mess up” is in the song😭
