Good choice Paddy. It was already on my list of places to go for a bit of safe cycling, but nice to see it in advance. Thinking about Khlong Saen Saep too-it’s probably not too scenic, but no motorbikes!

I went here last time I was in BKK - so great! It was my favourite day of the trip. The bike hire guy even gives you a free bottle of water when you return the bike (at least when I did)

Ok heres a question for you Paddy, albeit’s off topic… What recommendations would you have for a couple of Aussies planning to retire in Thailand that are keen to learn Thai? There are no doubt plenty of Language schools in Bangkok, but are there any teaching Thai that you would recommend or suggest where to get info?

Honestly, it’s hard to say Paul! Just try a few Thai schools local to your place and see what suits your style of learning. If you’re very serious about it, make sure they start teaching you how to read/write early on! It’s very important. Just keep speaking as much as possible! All the best

Dude, you’re an English speaker, why do you give up you R sound in pronunciation. ท่าเลือ \ tah -leur … is incorrect sound. You should have said it …. ท่าเรือ Tah reur. You know that Thais are so bad at pronouncing in their own language. Please don’t be like them. Hold your integrity and speak the correct way. You don’t have to give up your way to fit in, you’re doing fine, we love watching you. Rao rug rong rean = we love school But the incorrect way that most Thai say is … lao lug long lean Forgive me if I made you feel bad in any way
