I travel down a one-lane mountain road for an hour to arrive at the southernmost end of the Lost Coast of California. This is Usal Beach and it's amazing. But don't try to get here in the winter. The road is steep and can be slick. People slide off the road and get stuck all the time. I suggest you have a 4X4 and don't pull a trailer.
Right away I was greeted by all the locals. A young elk stopped by on his way to the playground. A couple of foxes checked out my camper and left the cutest prints in the dust on the spare tire of my camper. There was a sea lion and many many birds. Really amazing place.
This is part of Sinkyone State Park. There is a campground here but it's not maintained and you need to pack out all of your trash as there are no services here. Please, leave no trace! :-)

Wonderful video. Again you have brought peace and beauty to my soul! Thanks for sharing. I have not seen such a truly wild place since camping with my dad in the early 1950's. You make such beutiful vidios, watching them is like being there! When you share your visit, a thousand people can enjoy the place. If a thousand actually went, they would drive away the wild things that call it home and make it wild "no more". So thanks to your efforts we experiance without disturbing! You bring so much good to the world, please do not stop.

Lost coast! Yup, you are right! The reason it is called lost coast is because of that thick coastal fog. I love it! Also that fog is the main way redwoods get their water. Magic trees! Thank you for sharing this natural beauty! 🌊🌬❤️

Thanks for the tour! The elk was just happy the be alive...something many of us have lost. Love your lust for life and the unusual...so different from those who seem to exist, you have seized the adventure of the unusual and what many of us feel the RV life is all about. Bex, thank you so much for showing us the beauty of a hidden Northern California. Pristine surroundings with the wild critters coming out to greet you. That's the way I saw it. That campsite was just perfect. No dust. Just sand. ( There was a big discussion recently, traveling folks who would NEVER touch a toe in California. They just don't know what they're missing). Love the sounds of nature too. Thanks again Bex.

As usual, an outstanding video!! How blessed you are to see such beautiful wildlife. I love the elk playing on the beach, I have never before seen anything like that. And those foxes they were too cute. You know the first one was the lookout for whatever the second one was up to. Looks like you had a wonderful day and finished it with a good meal and a warm fire. So beautiful! This video should go viral! The elk leaping and running along the shore was priceless! I love how you put your camera on the sand to capture the curl of the wave as it raised up, then curled as it then crashed into the shore...the two foxes? Still more wonderment! The fire took on rainbow hues at the end of your video, also beautiful! Thank you for making and sharing this video, and also providing background information that is fun to learn about! Where I live on the East Coast of Maryland. At night, when you go onto the beach...they have ghost crabs. When you shine your light into the dark, you can see them scurry to their holes in the sand at night. We don't have elk; we have wild horses.

Those foxes were so cute. I saw them a couple of times during my stay. One of them jumped up on my spare tire and left the cutest paw prints in the dust. :-)

Yes, it's amazing but don't try to come here after a rain. So many people get stuck here every year. I checked the weather to make sure it was going to be clear the entire time I planned on being here.

Stunning coastline outstanding photography and content , I feel sometimes as if I'm standing alongside you , I think it's the back shots of the Egg rocking I'm there in the car looking out the window , sounds easy to do but it's not ! I think the elk bull was just as fascinated with you as you were of him , a magical bird watchers paradise , I would have loved to film you and the partner of your dreams on the beach , in the remake , " From Hear to Eternity " HOT HOT STUFF , glad to see your healed up ok , take care.

Hi Bex! I drove the Usal road two years ago in May and had a wonderful time. We camped at the beach as well but weren’t lucky enough to see the wild life you did. I have an old van that is set and ready to go for such adventures. We traveled from the north down to Usal beach. It was a long trip but a wonderful adventure. What time of the year were you there? Thanks so much for the video Bex, it was great to go there again! Happy trails!
