Fun fact, from the front and even side aspect, firing a rocket can work as a flare of sorts, sure two less R-60s is a downside but it means that A-10s cand missile you.

Ima be honest, this thing isn't even good against 8.3 jets. This thing turns so TERRIBLY that if the Yak-38 gets anywhere near behind you, that is a massive skill issue. To die to it, you have to either deliberately put yourself in front of it, or be unaware for an absurd amount of time. This thing is so hilariously bad I bet even the AI pilots in air rb hate being in this goofy thing.

3:55 The right move there was to turn into the A-10 and use one of your R60s to decoy his 9L. No way you're evading a 9L from 3km unless maybe you're already facing away from him and at top speed. You would be slower after turning hard into him so the other enemies might get you, or if he has another msl he might turn around and get you, but best to guarantee that you survive that first msl.

gaijin could easily fix the yak38 & 38M by limiting it to 2 R60s, giving it 64 flares and putting it at 9.7

The solution to the issue is changing the matchmaker across the board to +/- 0.4 BR rather than +/- 1.0 BR. This not only makes playing in uptiers/downtiers more fair because you'll no longer really be facing shit that has a massive technological leap compared to you, but it also makes balancing current and future vehicles easier since they affect less around them. It also gives us decompression across the board instantly in the best way possible. This community is borderline retarded, sometimes more than Gaijin; and one of the best examples is people asking for "decompression" by raising the max BR. Its the worst method possible. (raising max BR should be reserved for addition of more and more advanced vehicles only) They dont realize doing that only helps the top end and does nothing for anything below that. It also will inevitably require a complete rework of the BR system, ruining the number ranges veteran players are familiar with; which just outright destroys familiarity across the board even for relatively new players. The BR system we have now is a wonderful foundation, it just needs to have the cracks fixed. Asking for BR decompression by raising the max BR will just destroy it outright. Lowering the MM BR range to +/- 0.4 will basically allow balancing with a scalpel rather than balancing with a sledgehammer. But at the same time in order for any balance to be truely achieved, we would also as a whole have to make Gaijin stop using "statistics" to balance and place vehicles and use veteran player opinions instead. Statistical balancing hasnt worked, and never will work; and gaijin has proven that over the last 8 years. Plus on top of that lowering the MM BR range is EASY and could be done quickly.

I have no other outlet to share this with so I must ask here if the snail will ever start banning airfield campers? Very close to getting jets with america and the sheer amount of airfield camping I constantly see is unbelievable. A disturbing trend I see is that it is significantly more likely for a high level player (100+) to be doing it, even though you would think they would have the best chance of dealing with any unfavorable circumstances. I swear half my games end with me circling the enemy airfield for 15 minutes straight, and you BEST BELIEVE right before they run out of tickets or the match times out they IMMEDIATELY try something. I've seen half your videos and I can tell this has been a problem since time began and yet... nothing has been done about it? A chill runs down my spine everytime I think of the sheer amount of time total wasted by these insects refusing to just take the goddamm L. I would really love to see a dev play air rb and stare into their eyes as the enemy team camps for 300 years straight right in front of them and then ask "this isn't bothering you at all is it?". Just make a separate game mode where AA doesn't exist, can't be THAT hard? I want to see every single one of these airfield camping rats plane's blown to smithereens.

As someone who has over a thousand games in the Yak-38M it's extremely overpowered at 9.3 needs to go back to 9.7 ASAP. You have to side climb and select unsuspecting targets, especially if they have flares, but these days I average about 4 kills per game.

I grinded the bis in two weeks with this thing, when it came out back then. It was okay because even R-60s and AIM-9Js were dogeable. But today? Hell nah. Not touching that BR range without flares ever again.

All my russian tree till Yak 38 I did in Be-6, after that got Ace on yak when got only 2 R60. Was pain in ass as can't figure out guns in general :)

i grinded basically whole RU jet tree back when MiG-23 was the best. yes it was painful especially when it was limited to only 2 R-60s but i learned to use airburst rockets on it and bagged quite a few kills with those in headons. sadly it suffered the same fate as all top tier grinder jets, literally made obsolete in few patches when they gloriously slapped all aspect nonsense in those BRs ...

You could've evaded the Aim9L by Shooting the R60 at the Aim9L once its abt 3 km or less away, works way too good on the J35A

You should play the Ki-100 at 4.0, it's got the same airframe as the ki-61-2 at 4.7 but much lighter and not much worse power.
