The planet of Peridea is strange place, there's something in the air that makes everyone uneasy. We have a theory that some ancient evil is actually hiding on this planet, and yes the person who is destined to defeat it is Ahsoka Tano.

If it is Abeloth, it would be really cool to see some kind of uneasy alliance between Ashoka, Ezra and Thrawn’s forces. Ezra and Thrawn both clearly know that there is something deeply wrong with the planet, and both are wise enough to know that it shouldn’t be awakened and/or freed. I’m also sure neither want it to be brought back to their galaxy.

@@Reoh0zRebels Thrawn wasn't cartoonishly evil, but he WAS working for a cartoonishly evil Emperor. So his pragmatism made him cartoonishly evil when dealing with the quickly organizing rebellion. Pragmatic people can be mistaken for evil even when they're good. Sometimes you have to do something evil to accomplish something good. Don't get me wrong. Thrawn is a bad guy, but even if he is evil, he's not the campy, cartoonishly evil sort, like his old boss. Thrawn thinks he's the good guy, Papa Palpatine had no such delusion.

To make it a good story, this almost has to happen. We know that neither Ashoka nor Thrawn will be foiled in thee season finale. Both have to survive and Thrawn in particular has to continue to pose a threat. So to make the finale have impact, something needs to come along so dangerous that Ashoka et al, choose to deal with it at the cost of Thrawn making it back. What ever it is, I suspect it will come from Baylan's arc...

I think it's Abeloth. Mortis Gods is Filoni's speciality. Characters use word "legends" a lot which implies that it's something from legends, which Abeloth is. It's someone that is able to use the Force and is so powerful that it can contact someone from another galaxy. Baylan saying that it's something dark and powerful only gives this theory more credibility. We saw some Zeffo symbols earlier so I think that Zeffo imprisoned Abeloth and she's calling someone [Baylan] to help her get out.

@@catcherboy96 It could also be Revan not Abeloth. Revan is powerful af in Legends and his power in Canon is maybe the same. On Wookiepedia about Revan it says that "Since the history of the Sith was kept hidden from the galaxy, only Sith cultists knew the significance of Revan's name." which could mean that he is the "legend" for most people this age. Filoni wanted to put Revan in clone wars once, but it was scratched at the last time. Revan would still be more powerful than anyone at that era, but he wouldn't be as powerful as Abeloth.

I've been wondering why Filoni chose to bring back Huyang - so far he's been fun but hasn't served a purpose. As they set up in this episode - Huyang and his stories from History of the Galaxy Part One. Huyang exists to do a back story lore dump - "I still have those stories in my archive memory". And I'm guessing Balon attended Huyang's classes and that's where he learned about Peridea and the Big Bad. And Skoll and Hati were wolves chasing the Sun and Moon and when they catch them it brings the end of the world ....

Someone's gotta rebuild the darksaber 🤷‍♂️ He seems to be a good counterpart, a tie to her Jedi past, the token droid for the story. I agree that the story Baylon is focusing on he probably heard from Huyang, and Huyang is most likely telling that very story to Ahsoka during episode 6, so she will most likely be aware of what he may be up to when she arrives.

So there’s this story thing called a “frame”…and Lucas always intended that experiences and testimonies of stories would be recorded and told by droids, in universe. Huyang is fulfilling the role of the “frame”. How do we know any of these things “happened”? Who’s passing these stories on to us? As unbiased as possible droids. 😉
@rhodey_37
@rhodey_37 9 месяцев назад
Huyang is pretty important for the character dynamics. Ahsoka and Sabine need someone who is a more traditional Jedi associate, to contrast their being so thoroughly un-traditional Jedi. Also to have a "rational" figure amongst our other protags who are all pretty headstrong and impulsive. Huyang hasn't done much physically, but he's a necessary foil to the others. The show would be significantly worse off without him
@scottn2046
@scottn2046 9 месяцев назад
Yes, but I feel a lot of what Huyang has done up to know could have as easily been done with a new droid, which is more the Star Wars way of doing things - K2SO in Rogue One and L3-37 in Solo. Nothing so far has needed Huyang specifically and the awkward question of how they teamed up post Order 66.

Whatever they bring, you have definitely highlighted the sheer mystery of Peridea. You know what it reminds me of, is Dathomir *way* back in the Day, when "Courtship of Princess Leia" had us all like, "What do you MEAN witches in Star Wars?!" "Riding *rancors* - GTFO of here! "Skoll" is the wolf that chases The Sun. Perhaps Baylan Skoll seeks The Son. Perhaps it was The Son who was exiled here after his "death" on Mortis, and not Abiloth. @@vikrantpulipati1451skoll chases the Sun and Hati chases the moon until Ragnorok occurs when they consume both. In Clone Wars, The Son killed the Daughter, and then the Father upon which Anakin killed the Son. The Daughter became Ashoka, and Anakin took the place of the Son. Ashoka is practically a Grey Jedi now, capable of wielding both the light and the dark, so I believe that Ashoka takes on the position of the Father. Taking into account the Norse mythos, Skoll would take on the place of the Daughter, and Hati would take on the blacks of the Son. Skoll saying he wishes to end the cycle echos the Son, but could likely be a reference to him seeking to end Abeloth whose BPD type feelings send ripples through the force resulting in instability thus imbalance. I believe the Ragnorok event is when Ashoka, Skoll, and Hati team up to end Abeloth in the same way Naruto, Sasuke and the girl ended Kaguya. But another possibility is Skoll, while investigating the planet unleashed Abeloth and dies, which would match the actors real life death. His real death is unfortunate, and on the context of the show complicates the writing as he’s already been casted, creating a black swan event which Filoni will have to get around.

The series of novels that deals with Abeloth's return to the galaxy and Luke eventually being able to re-imprison her (albeit with some assistance) is one of the best examples of just how incredibly god-tier Legends' Jedi Grandmaster Luke Skywalker was. His power and ability as a Jedi/lightsaber duelist was pretty much off the charts compared to anyone else in movies/books/games up to that point, because he had to be that powerful to defeat Abeloth. And I'm a child of the 1980s so I personally love seeing Luke be OP as can be, but with that said... If this ends up being Abeloth, I would be very curious to see where it goes and how powerful she ends up being, because given the sequel trilogy and where it is in the timeline, it makes me wonder who deals with her, how, and when... not to mention, how much time does this conflict last?

The map is defiantly tied to the mortis Gods as we hear the brother whilst Ahsoka figures out the puzzle to access the orb, suggesting he was once present in that temple, leaving a force Echo behind. The night sisters might actually have started as a result of Abeloth, considering they call their superiors Mother or Great Mother. They might use Abeloth's magick in a way but use it through trinkets and potions to prevent the magick from corrupting their mortal bodies and soul. I don't think the nightsisters originated from Peridea but tried to expand their empire to it as Baylan called it, "the great witch Kingdom of the Dathmiri", odd to name your empire after a planet if it didnt start there. The great mothers might have been colonists in a way, riding the purgil along with a group of their sisters to build a new home but found that the purgil refused to take them back, it is where they go to die afterall. The mortis gods might have found out about what happened as the great mothers would be able to communicate through dreams to their fellow sisters, and saw a perfect way to trap Abeloth, tricking her into making the same journey, possibly luring her in by making her think thats where they resided.

There’s a solid enough reason to think Abeloth, or at least a canon equivalent to her, will be featured soon. After all, it was Feloni’s Mortis arc that first introduced the rest of her “family” (Abeloth specifically fits well in the concept of Mortis family as a manifestation of chaos that contrasts the Father’s embodiment of balance and order) and it would be fitting for Feloni’s latest entry, as it further dives into the esoteric side of Star Wars to place a plot-driven focus on beings like Abeloth, Bendu and the Mortis dieties.

This is really interesting. The tower on Mortis does resemble the tower on Paridea. Perhaps we will discover that originally the Dathomir witches were gaolers, and the catacombs are centuries worth of those charged with this task. Perhaps they know they can no longer keep their prisoner contained and this is why they are desperate to escape to another galaxy before it is too late. It's so exciting to get new Star Wars that is telling something completely new (or old) and to not know what will happen next. If this theory holds, I'm also excited to see how it is all introduced so that those who don't know the Clone Wars and Ahsoka's past with the celestials can follow along. So far they have done a fantastic job of building an engaging story that makes sense on its own.

The past is the prologue. A lot of esoteric art alludes to it at some point imo. The premise being like an ouroboros, the end is the beginning and the beginning an end. What’s new is actually really old. It’s one of the beauties of Star Wars’ aesthetic. Skoll even states he wants to go to the beginning to create an end. Filoni is a G for this. I really hope that Baylan is either killed off or changed enough for the story to be completed without him 'disappearing' off screen. The performance we have seen surrounding this character by Ray Stevenson has been far too good for him to just be written off or replaced with another actor - especially since we know how bad Disney seems to be at replicating facial features. It is ironic that his apprentice, Shin Hattie, has yet to show any particular personality other than maybe being a bit more aggressive and less measured than Baylan. To have Baylan killed, consumed or betrayed by Abloth or something similar would be a good end for the character as well as good thing for Shin to witness and prompt some growth in terms of the character traits we have seen from her so far - in fact that would make for a great cliff hanger in terms of ending Ashoka series 1. Just imagine if that happens right as everyone else is left behind by Thrawn making his way to the main galaxy...

I thought the more relevant thing about that panned shot of the tower the Night Mothers meet Baylan, Shin and Elsbeth on was the 3 wolves in the foreground facing toward the tower as if in greeting (3 wolves, 3 Mortis "gods", etc). My read on that tower pattern (including the wolves in the pattern perhaps) is that it's there to focus the Nightsisters magic on long range communication with our galaxy.

Never heard of Abeloth before, but hearing this and looking the story up on Wookiepedia ... that makes a lot of sense. The Mortis Gods died at a similar time in canon and legends, and Wookiepedia says she was released whenever the flow of time changed, so it makes sense for that to be the WBW. It makes sense if Dave drew from legends for the Mortis gods to also draw her in.

Based on the message in the Runes on the tower the Zeffo are involved somehow. But I also think this could be leading to Abeloth. I'm thinking the Night Sisters originated on this planet as disciples of Abeloth, or The Mother. They eventually find their way to the SW galaxy and set up shop on Dathomir. The Zeffo find them on Dathomir and eventually find their way to the Night Sister's home planet in search of Dark Side power. Some shit goes down that leaves the planet a wreck. I'm wondering if Baylon is going to unleash Abeloth who will take over the body of Shin Hati? There is a connection between the path to Peridia, the World Between World, and Mortis. It's there in the "Jedi Texts".

I believe your earlier nascent theory has begun finding the truth of what is coming. This fills the void that is why Baylan is working with Thrawn's lackeys. It was a means to an end. Aboleth calls to him. Her Celestial Jailers are no longer keeping her in check, and she has begun to reach out. What if the Dark Sisters and their rites were part of what kept her confined, and now know that she is going to break free sooner or later they wish to flee that oncoming storm.

A point to mention, the Dathomiri witches we know, Merrin, Talzin, Ventress. All come from a planet that, although hostile, is teeming with life. Vegetation, animals, sentient being are all capable of living there and flourishing. But Peridea...it's just barren. Desolate. As if all life was drained from it. My RPG senses tell me that's something to point out.
@rippingtons60
@rippingtons60 8 месяцев назад
Something or SOMEONE might have drained most of the life from Peridea, Something/Someone must have destroyed the Greak Kingdom of the Nightsisters. Who's to say the Dathomirian's rode the Purgil to the Star Wars Galaxy simply to get away from that something/someone that destroyed their kingdom. It may be a theory but I think we can guess just what or WHO the cause of this might be. Thrawn could very well be the least of our heroes' worries.

I dont know, Enoch's voice is pretty identical to Marrock's voice, and the primary power of the Night Sisters is reviving the dead. My guess is most of them are dead, and they can both be undead, as well as protected against Abeloth(?)'s influence via NS magic. My bigger question is, they've implied that Abeloth might be a present factor (especially given Ahsoka's world between worlds trip in Ep.5), they brought the Gryzk as the replacement for the Vong is Zahn's cannon Thrawn books, and they brought in Zeffo ruins on Peridea, which discuss "Kujet" the dark side leader of the Zeffo, and Andor canonized to some degree the Rekatan empire. This entire series is basically bludgeoning us over the head about Legends stories being canonized. My question is, in one more Ahsoka Season, one more Mando Season, and a Thrawn movie trilogy, how do you integrate all three of these things into a coherent story, and to what degree do each of them play a role/pose a threat? I'm trusting Filoni to pull it off, given the past three episodes of Ahsoka being quite good - but my fear is oversaturation of lore. I would had for the Thrawn trilogy to become some kind of inaccessible Silmarilion of the Star Wars universe. (Or worse yet, fizzling out into some cringe SW Avengers, with Bo, Mando, Ahsoka, Ezra, and Boba all fighting Thrawnos, and winning)

I like to think that its Abeloth and she already corrupted Baylan by seemingly calling to him promising something that would turn out to be a lie. Abeloth wants baylan to bring Shin with him in order for her to be her next vessel. she also controlled Baylan on not killing Ahsoka as she sees her as her daughter and wants her to come to her just as she planned. once she achieve her goal she will no longer see any use for baylan and proceed to kill him after which the once beautiful face of shin would crack a very big demonic smile and a mouth full of teeth.

Whilst I'd love the introduction of Abeloth, I do want to point out that this is just a theory. I say this because in legends Abeloth is imprisoned in the deep core, and I think Dave Filoni is likely to keep it that way. However this theory is still completely valid as with the change over to disney, lots of things are being changed and more legends is being integrated into canon. If it is Abeloth, I'd like to see how they work her in this late into the series, I know there will probably be another season, but with only two seasons left it'll be hard to work another character in, in time for the end of the season. Keep up the amazing work!
