I know that during your live streams you were worried about how you would edit this video to not make it dull compared to the previous Ironmon summary you did. You don't have to worry about that. The editing felt more streamlined, and the times you popped up were genuinely fun, the gig was not overused and broke up the flow of the stream feed quite well. Genuinely, this was worth the wait. Keep up the good work!
Ben Sharpedo is a winner to me. Also, great job on this video! I think you found a great way of introducing the rules of the challenge over the course of the video so it could be accessible to newcomers.
Awesome to see your storytelling skills improving even further! I love your Then We Fight videos but these longer narrative-driven videos are really quite special.
Smant took 1768 attempts, Patt only took 636 times... I feel like we need to have a Kaizo Ironmon speedrun between them to see who the true best Poketuber is
I know you had your doubts about the narrative, the editing, and the script, but damn this was an amazing video. I think you explained the rules perfectly and everything flowed amazingly. I also think you definitely can write a script! I appreciate the effort you put into the video. Thanks Pat! :_ptrzBuff:
I have not been able to watch the streams but this video was a journey. I put it on as background and it took all of my attention. Ben sharpedo was indeed a champion. R.I.P. BEN SHARPEDO
What a hard challenge! This isn't just "quit having fun", this is "f*** you now suffer" levels of difficulty and insanity. Good for you for making it this far!
I love the way you explained the rules step by step, whenever it became necessary, so there was never an information overload. The editing overall is really on point and super entertaining! Also beautiful use of the "if it's not 100%..." meme xD
Probably genius this came out right after smallants video. Got a lot of people looking up Ironmon and I love how differently incapsulating both videos are! Love it thumbs up 👍
I watched Ben’s entire run (hi from VODsquad) but still was on the edge of my seat for this video! Great editing and love the memories. I still miss Grim 💔
It’s kinda funny how this comes out not too long after Smant’s Ironmon video. His 1700 something count is absurd, but as a person who has done about 30 Black 2 runs, even 600 is beyond me. I want to say that I finally finished the Black 2 run. All I needed to do was SoulLink with my brother :))
Coming off of Smallants Ironmon it took me an embarassingly long time (after you beat Tate and Liza) to realize that you guys were playing different games and why I kept being confused about the tempo of the letsplays being different.
"Being able to get past the 3rd gym puts Ben in the top 0.01% of all of the runs I've done." You've done 636 runs, you won't even have a top 0.01% until you've done 10,000 of them. ;)
You deserve a lil boost for this run my friend, and this video it was great from start to finish! Transfering the ben luck to our current run, Excalivire! All the best Pat (P.S thank you for the Grim clip 😭😭)
Having been (heh) in the streams this video was tough to watch, knowing how it would end. But it was so beautifully done and incredibly entertaining. Ben will live on in our hearts forever.
23:51 MandJTV reference o7 Ben Sharpedo, I really liked how this video explained how Ironmon works. I've never really fully understood the rules of it, as I've only seen it every now and then, but it always feels interesting.
I technically haven't watched many Ben streams or VoDs because of life reasons so it'll be nice to watch this not knowing the exact ending other than must have been further than Birdge
I don’t know if this was covered in the initial stream or you went back, but based on the footage here I think you missed a trainer in the Flannery gym. There’s a female gym trainer in the middle left room on the upper right portal that you walked past in this video. Very cool video.
I'm new in this game mode and the rules were a bit confusing to me. Thanks to your amazing run, i am now rightfully able to follow the rules. But even Ben is failed, what will i do idk :)
Hi I know I’m abit late to comment but just looking for some help as I can’t seem to figure it out myself. I was playing this, had 300+ runs and decided to make my life easier by downloading the patch for faster fire red. Now everytime I restart the rival fight has a level 12 plus all wild pokemon are higher. Any idea what to do I’ve re installed everything multiple times but it’s still doing the same thing 😢
Xp curve are different from a pokemon to the other, currently in a run myself, i got Blissey (not huge power) and i will most likely hit lvl 100 before the seventh gym. It is 96 and cleaning the ocean trainer currently with 2 rare candy in the bag.
Obviously people can make changes how they so please, but I thought that you also couldn't heal using pokemon centers. Was this something that you made changes to the ruleset to allow?
Im sorry that i missed your 11th birthday Patterz. I was just a young lad in another country with no knowledge of your existence thats no excuse for the pain i have caused
Super hard run with a live of the land settinng? Sounds fun! I have a question though, I see you avoid taking berries from the trees, I assume it's against the rules?
Ben won the League, at least she went down as a champion. Can't believe how close that was. Where can you download that version of Emerald and a good emulator to play it on PC? I'd love to give it a try, it looks like a lot of fun, but I'm not sure how to go about playing Pokémon roms or what emulator is best to use.
