Mark Goon has the best poker vlog for low stakes, his attention to details are clearly illustrated by his hand for hand, amazing stuff Mark, well done and thank you
Two ways to look at this: 1. Don't like, don't sub, don't comment. Less traction for Marc and that way fewer people get this weapons-grade info. 2. Comment, like, sub out the wazoo. This rewards Marc and Gethen with more doll-hairs, such that they create more weapons-grade content. Then we have to fade the rest of the planet finding these videos, learning tons, and making it really hard to beat the... oh wait, nevermind. That hasn't happened yet despite an infinite number of high quality books from Brunson, Sklansky, Malmuth, Miller, Brokos, Mehta, etc and high quality videos from every decent poker coach on the Interwebs. Doyle first published Super System in 1979. 45 years ago. And bad players are still awful. I think we're safe.
@@loganehewett9807 put some respec on his name, no matter what, he was a poker legend, period. I'm sure there was shady business in the 60s & 70s!!! duh! shit was hard & real & real hard...Not this cream puff tic tac society we live in now. No matter what your pawpaw or uncle bartholomew told you, Doyle was a pioneer of the game. respec the name!! Why do all the old school players like negreanu, speak so highly of him when was alive and after if he was so bad? He is in the poker HOF... I think your typing out of your chum hole and need to be quite, Its past your bedtime little one. nite nite. And hungry hippo; why are you replying huggies to this jerk turd?? No huggies!! mad face emoji mad face emoji!! 😤😡🤬
assuming ur joking but just so everyone else sees this: if the videos don’t do well, i won’t make videos like this anymore. so if u want more of this for FREE, don’t dislike the video.
I've consumed tons of poker content. This is by far the best and easiest digestible. Your content will help anyone that has any concept of poker strategy.
It is correct, when you see a J92 two-tone flop in a poker room to say "Look at that sweet baby there." Everybody will stare at you and think you're nuts. Your EV will go up.
This is exactly how world class NL players used to play. Before the solvers and even online poker. Build an opponent profile, bet as much with value as you think he'll call, and as little as possible that you think will get a fold when bluffing. It still works better than anything in 99% of situations.
About hand 2 -If villain have some 9x hands that he call down small size we are -ev too and recreational players have it more often than the range you give so its pretty close between profitable bet and loosing bet versus unknown player, also he will slowplay from time to time just because he want to do it without further logic. Also the turn pot bet is double edge sword because we can achieve same fold equity with smaller size, so why are we betting pot? villain will fold or call same range vs 3/4 or even 2/3 size because he see those sizes in same way, so i dont understand why we risk a lot of money for 5% ev river fold if we can achieve it on turn with less money and eventually use it on river for even more money??? Just bet 1/4 flop-3/4 turn-1/4 river... I believe most recs are static to sizes that are close to each other so why to choose bigger one? And recs are either nits or calling stations so they will either hero call or over fold, there is no mid land. About hand 3 - Why you suggest using for flop overbet bluff hands that have decent showdown value? do you expect that K2 will have higher winrate vs population of recs if you turn it on bluff? I dont believe you will have more that 20% ev fold equity because that is the showdown value you sacrifice. I play successfully mid stake spin and go`s, and for the last 2 months i try some cash low stake games applying some of your ideas and the population is just too loos postflop so they dont work good. They can work only if we know the type of player we are playing...Vs the population they just dont work... I use big bets when they are capped and they call down me with top pair more often than you say so i loos money. So basically capped range matter only if we know our opponent is nit and advicing exploits based on board and not on player type is suicide
You are an absolute legend winning a lot after seeing your trying to win 100$ and hour videos the game has become much more clearer than before thank you so much for everything.
8:19 Absolutely insane to see how badly -EV that 'hefty' 1.5x bet is when villain is a station, and how massive the EV difference is with the small bet. Know thy villain. Also, big thanks for explaining the check/overbet strat on ace high flops, I also found it in your "Run over your poker table with overbets" vid, but this latest vid goes into it much deeper. So to be clear, this strat on ace high flops is only when the board is static? On an AJ9 flop with a flush draw you would be more inclined to bet small on the flop because villain is more likely to be capped on a blank turn? Another excellent vid Marc 👌
honestly the fish in my games will hit a pair or two pair and die on that hill. so it’s fine. they can’t read the board or imagine that a hand can beat their pair. against these types these videos are too advanced for them so keep it coming smoochy 🎉🎉
Its one video that i didn't want released as it exposes my basic strategy face up. Love the content, i love my 30 to 40% bets on the river. I do like to check a lot of flops tho, so i dont over inflate pots. I would love to hear your Big blind strategy thoughts, and how to play AJ thoughts.
As Marc Goone went through how the villain was likely to play in these situations my thought was basically "that is _exactly_ how I would play." Just to be clear, I'd be playing how Marc is saying the villain is playing, not the hero. Marc would exploit the s**t out of me.
My games are not super deep. I use a lot of x backs on the flop in position and make all my moves on the turn and river. They don’t know how to play vs that. Idk if I lose any EV but my winrate is through the roof…
Love the strats. I assume you know a decent percentage of your audience is playing less deep because of what casinos/poker rooms have sometimes. Are there modifications you'd make for lower SPR? In general slightly lower turn sizes sometimes to leave a big bet on the river if you need to bluff? More aggressive with value because people call down?
talked about this a lot in other vids. when less deep, don’t run the airball bluffs - let equity drive them. don’t try to get top pair to fold. go thinner for value w larger sizes.
Marc can you help explain how EV is generated throughout the hand. I know we make each street decision without considering sunk costs but in the 76s you invested $350 and are only hoping to generate $55 in EV on the river through a $250 river bet. If we are betting a size on the turn to get called so we can bluff off the river it seems as though we are “donating” the turn bet and betting to win less than that in EV on the river.
ev is calculated independently for each decision. we can only compare it to other alternatives at that time. if ev is bluffing is we win $55, but ev of checking is we win 0, then bluffing is better. turn ev should only be compared to turn ev.
This is such a hidden gem of an account, none of my friends heard of Marc until I found this account and have been sharing religiously. We’re all learning so much
Hefty - Like Chonky, down with the Thickness... Sir, I truly appreciate all your Content. If only I lived near you, I'd try to come and play with you in your 5-5 Challenge. As previously stated you have enhanced my low stakes play dramaitaclly. Thanks again.
Marc, how can the large OOP XR be utilized in smaller stake games where stacks are shallower? For example, in a 1/3 game where regular open size is 15 so it plays like a 2/5 but most players have 300-500 chips in their stack. It feels harder to utilize and have bluffs with when you make them put 60-70% of their stack in on the flop. Love the vids, keep em coming!
the large XR is just to reduce the SPR when deep, if the SPR is already low just craft your bet sizes for an SPR of 1 on the turn or river depending on stack sizes and opponent type
@@Lyqu1d nitpicking but an SPR of 1 when trying to bluff might be a bit too tiny imo, especially with shortstacks. Plus, the 8x XR is also because people make more mistakes against it, and they are more inelastic on the flop so you also earn more if they fold on later steets
I really enjoy n respect your videos.... however i am finding tht at 1/3 i have to navigate/run into coolers much more often than many of these videos suggest.
An underrated part of your video ouvre is what the players not in the hand are named. Bubba Shrimp, Baby Shrimp? Sure. Cute. Whatever. But Detlef Schrempf? You're WAY too young to have loved the big German. That's a great deep cut. Oh, and you can kiss my hefty butt if you think I'm going to try to help you figure out the RU-vid algorithm...
Hey Marc due to my states limitations the most common game my casinos have is 2/100 SL with 10% rake up to $5 +$2 for jackpots. Is this beatable or just a rake trap not worth it in the long run?
