VERY well spoken Jack! It's always amazing how brave/mouthy some people are on social media, but yet they're not if it's face to face. I love the fact that you're devoting so much time for such a worthy cause of homesteading. If I wasn't half way across the country, I'd be there at the event. Working together for the common goal is always better than letting petty issues divide and destroy each other. So, you GO Jack and don't stop doing what you're doing. It DOES make an impact on a LOT of people.
It’s not hard to be brave sitting behind a keyboard. Anonymity on the internet really is a cancer on our society. We behave and write things in comments we would never say to a person in real life.

Hey man, love your videos. If I did a RU-vid channel, I’d like to think it’d be similar to your’s, ie: here’s my successes. Here’s my fuck ups. Lol. Lesson I learned a while back, arguing with folks on the net gets you nowhere and wears you out all at the same time. I’ve never convinced anybody to change their point of view on the net and they’ve never manage to get me to change mine. Enjoy the hell out of ur channel, if full time work and weeding didn’t keep me too busy to attempt to film I’d do it. Lol.
All good. People have been allowed to be polarized. Sadly. Most Americans want nothing more than to be American. That means being allowed to make your own decisions about your own family, life, etc. I was always taught to listen to everything and use what you can throw away the rest. People need to realize that our country is falling apart because we cannot agree to disagree and move on with our lives. And of course there are occasions to just stay away from each other.

You are correct. Absolutely NO PLACE for it. I watch and admire all the homesteading videos as it is my dream (even at 65) to homestead very soon. There's so many ways to homestead and I admire each and every one of you for what, and how, you do them!!! POLITICS SHOULD NOT BE INVOLVED IN IT. CHILL OUT. Those same people complaining on Facebook are being hypocritical complaining about views that "Facebook" agrees with yet they are using Facebook to do the complaining. Just because someone doesn't agree with you on 100% of your views doesn't mean they don't have something to offer.
I don t homestead , but raise birds , and did have a Farm earlier in my life and I have learn t so much from all you different Homesteaders, but no one has to be mean to any of you , Thanks for making this video, no one needs to be a Jerk ,
I hate where we have gotten as a society and unfortunately social media is partly to blame. We are being pushed to be on one extreme or the other on EVERY issue and being pushed to hate/cancel anyone on the opposite side from us. I have many great friends that are polar opposites on some, or even many, issues. We agree to disagree on those issues and focus on the things that bring us together. My next door neighbor is a good example. If we fell to the current cancel culture, we would hate each other. We are completely opposites on almost every political issue. But he is a good neighbor. We help each other when needed. We loan equipment and tools. We look after each others property and receive packages....we are neighbors. Our society is forgetting how to be neighbors.

LOL word vomit, never heard that one before, for some in this age it is amazing that 2 people could be friends and have differing opinions about some issue any issue but isn't that what real friends can do, be different AND have conversations while respecting the fact that they do not agree on a few things, my wife and I don't agree on everything, life would be boring if we did. I ignore haters they are not interested in conversation they want you to comply or they will hate on you also.
I wouldn’t call myself a homesteader but I do have chickens and I love growing/preserving the things I grow. I enjoy Morgan’s channel and I also enjoy your channel. Outside of growing/preserving and having chickens I don’t identify socially(politically) or religiously with most of the homesteading community out there. I do like the videos even though I don’t ideologically agree with most of the people I watch. I must say when I started watching these types of videos I found the pervasive fear mongering a little weird. I mean if the SHTF was gonna happen who was better prepared than people who were close if not mostly self sustaining. I quit watching a lot of these channels… couldn’t stand the content or the comments. I’m also an atheist but I don’t care what people believe but it does seem that the religious crowd in the homesteading community want to be very insular which to me is the opposite of what this community should be about. Anyhoo… good on you for having this event and speaking up. I hope your event is very successful!!!!

There is a certain inevitably that comes with 1) being a homestead and 2) doing it "on" RU-vid: its starts out where you just want to share ideas and spread the word. Then a teeeny bit of money comes in and the channels become either solely product placement machines or click bait nonsense to keep the views going. First you get some chicks and a go pro and the next thing you know youre dressing like an Amish person when you arent one. This is coming from someone who is both a homesteader and on RU-vid. I took "homestead" out of the channel name like a year ago because i find the whole genre (on RU-vid) cringe af. I love being self sufficient, and i love making videos, but i went to HOA in VA a couple years ago and its nothing but self promoting. I dont think your channel is wack and is probably the only homesteading channel I still sub to. Keep your head above water thru this and dont perpetuate the e-dramz. Morgan may be your friend, but you HAVE to know hes gonna bring heat wherever he goes.
Morgan Gold goes out of his way to make (some) videos that target people or groups. I use to watch all his videos, but he began to run with a constant theme; which was him picking a fight on video with a person or group. The last video I ever watched of his was when he went to the Homesteaders of America conference and recorded himself at John Lovell’s speaking event. I’m sure knew exactly who John was, and I am sure he had an Idea what the “ warrior poet society” is all about. He sat there and mocked John as he spoke and made his video about “what does this have to do with homesteading.” I don’t watch the WPS videos, but I know who he is. For what ever reason, the HOA conference chose to have him there and speak. Morgan took that opportunity to mock another speaker. So….Jack, I like your videos. You seem like a nice guy. You seem like a respectable guy, but you are defending a person who does what you say shouldn’t be done.
Morgan is a content creator and often times controversy sells. I've only ever seen him call out (in a big specific way at least) WPS and Doug (the fake Amish doomsday monger). Both instances were justified if you ask me and many others. Even so, Morgan is not some lefty activist ruining the lives of homesteaders. He is an asset to the community and spreads a mostly positive message about small scale agriculture. He is just one of many speakers at HONE and people that aren't fans of his can certainly still have a good time at the event without sitting in on his talk.
Tell that to Morgan Gold. He is quick to bad mouth anyone he does not agree with. As much as I want to support Homesteaders of New England, having that tedious click bait fraud there just undermines the whole event.

Like Jack, I definitely disagree with Morgan on several things, but I don’t want to live in a world full of people that agree with me on everything.
I stopped watching your channel because of Morgan, I attended your event last year had a good time actually rented a vender space. As much as I appreciate you holding the event my family and I will not be attending because of Morgan and I know a lot more will not attend either. He is too outspoken, bad mouths a lot of other channels and speakers. Tell him and I'm telling you stick to Homestead topics please.
