There was a little complaint with my last driveway repair video. I believe I have fixed it.
I had to cut out a lot to try and keep this short, but I think you can get the general point.
In the first video, I talked a lot about my new tractor and what my troubles were and how I fixed them, but I never showed how I used the tractor and the implements/attachments to fix the 600 feet worth of driveway.
So, in turn, this video has exactly no talking. Instead I show you the Kubota Tractor and King Kutter Box Blade in action, ripping, tearing, leveling and ditch digging. Action. Pure Action.
Here is basically what I did:
Lowered the ripping tines all the way and tightened the top link all the way so that, when lowered, the front end (the tines) of the box blade ripped into the dirt and rocks without gathering any material in the box.
I made a few passes like that so that the surface was well broken.
Then I raised the tines all the way and slightly loosened the top link so that, when lowered, the box blade would hit the surface but the tines would not.
I then used this setup to scrape off high points of the driveway and fill in the low points. I made several passes at two different heights (On my tractor, in this case, a 1 and then a 2).
Then I adjusted a side link so that the bucket was tilted as much as I could make it and dropped the tine on that low side all the way down for some ripping power. I then scraped the lower edge into the dirt where I wanted water to runoff. It is my hope that these little ditches will help slow down future erosion of the road.
To make them, I put the implement height at a 0 and drive along the edge of the road. I then repeated the process 3-4 times, getting slightly deeper each time. I also would move away from the digging side of the tractor about 1 tire width each time.
