The ScanWatch 2 just came out! What a suprise 😂! For those thinking of getting an ScanWatch 2 - i think the ScanWatch 1 will be the better deal, as the new one only has slightly extended battery life and a temperature sensor. For myself i will not upgrade as i like the design of the ScanWatch 1 better anyway ✌🏻.
I had a Scanwatch 1st generation and found the glass too reflective to read the dial well. The blood oxygen level was way off and it alerted me to having Afib when I was in sinus rhythm by an EKG. I liked the concept but had to return the device. I hope they fixed those issues in the second generation watch.
Great video as always! I’m actually just a bare wrist guy. As someone who likes watching minimalist/tech/edc type videos on RU-vid I don’t actually don’t buy too many things. I had a professor in one of my marketing classes show us a picture from apple’s original iPhone release. It was basically a graphic that advertised how the iPhone(or any smartphone) was great because it would remove the need to buy/carry so many things for your daily carry. Notebooks, camera, pens/pencils, calculator, flashlight, alarm clock, laptop, navigation guides, etc. and among those things listed was of course a watch. He said somewhere along the way we forgot what the purpose of smartphones was, mainly due to marketing telling us we still need some of those other things.
This sounds like he is an awesome professor! That is an interesting story and insight I didn't know about... Thank you for sharing! Marketing is truly a powerful weapon 🤔.
I purchased this yesterday, and it arrived today, and I couldn't be more pleased. This watch looks and feels amazing. The simplicity of it from an esthetics perspective was exactly what I was looking for, while it intelligently monitors everything a typical smartwatch can; hands down extremely pleased! Thank you again for the review. There aren't that many reviews of this watch -- a good handful, but not as many as the other big names.
You said that its not waterproof enough for swimming, even though Withings themselves states that these are 5ATM rated, and that is generally considered OK for swimming. Am I missing something or perhaps misunderstood something here?
Thanks for the great review ..but could you please tell me how loud the notifications are eg irregular heart beat..is it an audible alert or haptic . Thanks !
Thank you for the video (Vielen Dank!). I'm thinking of the very same things you mentioned, and I'm wondering if this is a move I should make as well. The one thing you didn't cover was if you need to get an additional subscription with the ScanWatch? I don't think you do, but is a subscription to Withings analogous to an Apple Fitness subscription? I hadn't considered losing Apple Pay--that's a good point. I'll keep thinking on it for a bit. Cheers!⌚
Yes i never had any issues and its still working like on day 1. However i have switched to a garmin as i wanted advanced sport features for running and hiking. 👍🏼
I have avarage size wrists so the 38mm works fine for me i personally dont like huge watches so this was a no brainer to me. Plus i liked the design of the 38mm more. ✌🏻
Really depends on your wrist size, John. I have a 180mm wrist and the 38mm model would be too small for me. Best case you can try the sizes on somewhere, to get a feel for the difference. I had both and definitely go with the black 42mm model!
Why do you say it is not waterproof enough? It has 50meter waterproof advertised with a swimming workout setting. Can you follow up on this because other reviews say you can swim with it. Did you find that you cannot? This could be a dealbreaker for me. Thank you.
@@withfabianI actually came here to remove that comment because you responded to another of the same comment. I didn’t see that at first. We all make mistakes and you are awesome for admitted that. Otherwise, the review and video was great. I executed and purchased this watch today. Really excited for it! Cheers mate
⌚ a Nice and helpful video. Thank you! I am ordering My Withings as we speak - I am tired of conventional ''ugly'' smart watches not lasting more than a few days in a Apple ecosystem....
theres no need for me. as i bought it just a couple of months ago and it is still awesome. i like the older design more and the new features are not something im missing. if the new one would include nfc payments or so it might be worth it.
I have a Xiaomi GTS 2 mini, which basically does everything that an Apple Watch does but with a battery life of 20 days. It has its limitations, such as not being able to make NFC payments, but it is an incredible watch.
