Mine sounds great on my EOS 60D but if i try to use it with my PC its a whole different story. The levels are low, i have put the boost at max +20 dB and it anyways sounds like i am speaking through a pillow. The Realtek 892 integrated sound chip basically offers no adjusting for mic input except boost. Do i have to get a dedicated soundcard to record to PC?

Hi, thanks for the nice video. I only make documentaries outdoors, for working people (ethnic groups in remote countryside). I would like to ask a question please: I have a GH6 camera and its microphone is good. Again, I don't use the camera in my country, but only when traveling far. If you were me, would you use a small external mic or would you do without it? Thank you.

Makes me feel like the beginning of your video! In fact, your title jived with how I was feeling at the moment about it too!! When I use the camera mic, I have audio, though, so what am I doing wrong???

Does this mic work on the Fuji XT30?

This mic used to sound better on the X-T20, but on the next gen cameras it sounds awful! The X-T3 and T30 have inferior preamps :(

Preamps change the audio a bit. I used the micro on my xt2 and the audio was super nice. The audio wasnt as good when used on the g85

I tried everything in the book but I can not get good sound out of this without annoying static noise. A tiny 10$ lavelier mic sounds much better with no noise when I don’t talk.

Has anyone used this Mic for podcasting? I already have it for my DSLR and was wondering if I should spend the extra money for something a little more suitable....I feel like some mic is better than no mic, but if spending $50 for a USB condensor mic would make things much more crisp, I'd probably do that...

My wife started narrating audiobooks several months ago so we've had to learn a lot about audio quality. The biggest takeaway for me was how crucial your environment is AND how important using an XLR mic. with a good interface is. We are fortunate enough to have a large walk in closet in a spare room that we were only using for storage so we turned that into a nice little sound booth. We piled a bunch of spare blankets and pillows on the high shelves that reached to the ceiling. For the walls I bought foam mattress toppers from Walmart as well as some foam cushion from the fabric aisle. Works like a charm! The great thing about treating a room or making a sound booth is how easy it is to DIY. Environment is everything!
