My 2 cents in case Heartland is listening, which basically mirrors what others have said: 1. Ladder to access roof, or at least a ladder prep 2. Change dining table to hinged foldable option and either foldable chairs or bar stools 3. Single bigger sink in bath 4. Porcelain toilet 5. Queen bed is sufficient and would give a little more space on each side of bed 6. Both pass-thru storage doors should be same size (large) 7. Solar package of at least 150 Watts (more is better) 8. (2) 30# propane tanks 9. (1) grey tank drain rather than two There is A LOT here to like with this trailer. With just a few minor changes, this could be one of the very best TT options on the market.
@@JoshtheRVNerd totally agree. And I also absolutely agree on only one sink in the bathroom. That two sink setup is clearly looks and not practical at all.
This one has a great floor plan. but when you got to the lack of solar that was a deal breaker. If the second sink could be omitted and put a slightly larger single sink in the bathroom that would be a plus to me.
I like it. Love the bathroom, but I agree only needs one sink. I'd also like a queen bed option with the large closets on the side. Also I'd like the larger baggage door on both sides of the pass through storage. And a normal couch option with recliners.
Very interesting. With some slight changes it could be a tiny house. Yes, a solar option would help, but get rid of the outside kitchen altogether. Push that vanity closer to the outside wall, making more room between it and the toilet. Add a stackable washer/dryer in half the space and a bigger sink if there is room. Now we have a perfect tiny house!
200 solar panel to 400 option would be great. I agree with you. One sink, I would love more counter space in the bathroom. I would love to have a mobile table to fold or removable. I love the option on the color counter space in the kitchen.
Hopefully, Rockstaff will get ahold of this and put there spin on it. Solar at least three different packages. Generator. Removable table - either stored in the bench or chaise, along with folding chairs instead of fixed. Porcelain toilet, delete the second sink and bump out on bathroom counter top. Larger 22" oven. Queen bed option from the factory. LED light strip all through the pass-through. Shave down the outdoor kitchen to allow for mega awning. Ladder and second propanus. Perfect couples camper that allows guests.
I think a few minor “tweaks” would make this an awesome unit. 1) put one sink in the bathroom and free up counter space. 2) use a French cleat for the dining table so it can be removed for travel mode. 3) make provisions for a ladder on the exterior. 4) prep for solar. This is a great floor plan. I think a few minor changes would take it to the next level.
The ability to wash your hands while still sitting on the crapper is NOT a good selling point. Put ONE bigger sink in the middle with counter space on both sides.
Really interesting floor plan and I like the modern but still warm colors. Totally agree that the table being able to be removed would be beneficial, especially for in-transit access. Also agree on the bathroom - one larger sink vs. the two tiny sinks. Also - given how deep the cabinet is, they don’t need the sinks to extend into the bathroom space with those semi-circle extensions. And yes - every RV should have solar prep
Another great floor plan for a retirement RV that will fit in the smaller state parks, but with Fifth wheel amenities. If you could get it with a queen and less overhead, removable or no table, and optional no camp kitchen and add a generator, or storage. Also one larger bathroom sink with more storage in place of the other one.
This is an ingenious camper trailer plan. But I would miss theater seating and a TV. Lol. Glamping. I agree with you with the two sinks. A larger sink with a pull out drawer storage and cubbie below would be great for beside the toilet.
I like this trailer. I don't think I have looked into these before. Every trailer (in my opinion) should have an option for some sort of solar package, and add a ladder on the back.
My suggestion for an option, ditch the chairs, table and bench all together. Extend the raised counter and slide a pair of counter height stools underneath.
I Like the counter space. Bathroom; I agree, one larger sink and narrow the counter for toilet clearance. Add a built in shower seat. Make a double fold dinette table with folding support. Lop off the end of the sofa for passthrough room with collapsed slide. Rework the over bed cabinet for more head room. All minor stuff... the overall is great. I've noticed that even the large campers normally don't have ample counter space. If you're making and cooking a meal covering the range for work space is not an option.
I just love this one. I've never commented on anything before, even though I have watched you for a few years now. The double sink is a bit weird in the bathroom but still useable. This is one of the few RVs that I truly love everything about it.
Love this one! I love a rear bath trailer but need/want access to bedroom in travel mode. The only thing missing on this one is the solar panels. Or even being prepped for solar.
I really like the layout. I never wanted that much space used for the table so that is awesome. The couch I wish was a recliner. In the bathroom go with one sink and give a bit more room around the toilet by not having it stick out like that. Solar I want a minimum of 200 watts. The upgrade to me should be to get to 600 plus watts if possible. I do want the ladder. The travel access is not bad. If the table could be removed that would be great.
No solar is a deal breaker. I would add more solar, but not to have an option is not good for NT. I like the layout . It's different. I really like the darker countertops. Lots of storage, I don't think there's ever a need for a second sink. Counter space is more impressive & WANTED. Otherwise the bathroom is great. Outside storage is good. Like slam latches and magnets. Need a ladder. Too bad no solar, cause as a full- timer it's something I have to have.. ! There's GOOD AND BAD WITH THIS ONE. AS MUCH AS I LOVE THE INSIDE, THERE'S OTHER THINGS THAT KEEP ME FROM GETTING TOO EXCITED ABOUT THIS MODEL. JOSH, U R SO GOOD @ WHAT U DO. PPL DEPEND ON U TO POINT OUT GOOD AND NOT SO GOOD. FLOORPLAN IS A FUN FLOORPLAN. THERE'S OTHER THINGS THAT ARE DEAL BREAKERS. ARE U LISTENING NORTH TRAIL? THANKS JOSH FOR POINTED OUT THE +'S & ‐'S. I APPRECIATE U.
Love to see a new floor plan. I would have like 1 bigger sink in the bathroom and if the kitchen table maybe had a drop down option for when the bed is out or if you have dog crates. Love the videos!
So tired of the same floorplans in most RVs. Heartland to the rescue! I love this layout. For us, it's perfect. Well, perfect without the 2nd sink in bathroom. I agree the dinette chairs should be folding and the table should at least drop down but none of this is a deal breaker. Well done Heartland! Josh, thanks for always giving us the pros and cons. You and Matt's RV Reviews are my favorites because you point out the "cons". Most salesmen act like every RV is perfect!
Matt and I both seem to have independently found our own paths to something pretty similar. We actually bumped into one another in a water park in Florida of all places once 😂
Thanks for the review. I like the floorplan, but no ladder, no solar option and two sewer points are deal breakers for this unit. I agree that a larger single bathroom sink makes more sense and that the table should be removeable.
Nice floor plan. Changes I would recommend: 1. Mirror the large pass through door on the driver's side. 2. Add a water quick connect near the camp kitchen, or, move the outside shower to that area. 3. As to the solar, I would request a high quality solar prewire (solid wiring sizes, inverter prep), and add an option for a couple levels of solar from the factory (200W, 400W or so). Maybe pair that with an "Off Grid" option package including larger LP tanks.
Ok, I’m kind of annoyed. I’ve commented on other videos and suggested virtually this exact living/dining layout. So, I’m just going to assume full credit 😂. In that spirit, obviously I’m a huge fan of this. The double sinks definitely need to go, however. You rarely have excellent water pressure when camping, so running two sinks is basically a fruitless, bordering on wasteful, endeavor. Round of applause on the corner closet layout in the bedroom. Separately, wish the table were free floating. Also, I think a sprayer on kitchen faucets should just be standard in every unit. It’s so necessary when washing every dish by hand. I know it’s an easy fix, but I’d prefer to see it from the factory virtually every time. Again, though, I am a MASSIVE fan of this overall. Buuuut…give us a freaking ladder guys!
I agree... Solar option is a MUST HAVE! 1 option for light duty boondocking for weekend warriors and a full package capable of sustaining all amenities while boondocking. I also agree a single larger bathroom sink would be better use of space.
I *LOVE* this layout. I'm constantly amazed by the enormous pantry with the ridiculous 'fireplace', huge TV, and big 12v refrigerator with NO FRICKIN PLACE TO COOK! On top of that, having that giant brick of space just at the entrance means almost no camp side windows. This is MUCH better. It would be even more improved by taking away one sink and adding some hanging storage in the bath that faces out to the kitchen so it is convenient to the door. I was hoping to see someone continue the cabinet line to the door, but this might even be better.
There are a lot of things I like about this floor plan, however, the double bathroom sinks is a total waste. When camping, my husband and myself are in vacation mode and don’t feel the time-crunch need to be brushing our teeth at the same time. We are much more interested in one large bathroom sink and lots of counter space. Other things we want are a bigger space for the television, seating that has the ability to recline or that has a comfy footstool, and a free standing table that can be removed. Also, room for a CPAP, is a must.
drivers side storage door should be the same size as passenger. 1=sink in bathroom. French cleat the table on the wall. Add a basic solar package. I like outside kitchen t have a basic sink to wash hands while cooking. Agree with the awning needing to go all the way back. Ladder is a must. I like the fresh layout. Would be cool to make the lounge section removable to make it easy to walk thru when road mode.
Definitely go with a single bathroom sink and more solar. I would prefer theater seating option with one window in the slide. Awning covering the camp kitchen would be a plus or the camp kitchen door with support struts would work for minor rain protection. I consider it Cracker Barrel friendly.
Awesome layout. As a bigger guy I like the two chair Dinette, not all of us fit in a booth. Totally agree with the "table needs to be removable." Maybe make it able to be a kid bed? BTW, I laughed waaaaaay too hard at the "berthing bathroom" skit. Also, can you review 26 DBS Heartland/North Trail? Thank you for all the hard work, both on and off camera, sincerely.
Really want a pre-installed television for an entertainment system, definitely want the table to be removable for space saving, and then add a solar panel package and this would be nearly PERFECT! Beautiful trailer!
OK Josh.... I really like this one... My suggestions, I like the table set up with chairs, but I'm thinking some folding chairs would be nice (and the second sink in the bathroom would be a great place that could store them!)... and/or the 2nd sink area could be a large wardrobe area... The table could just have folding legs where it could be used inside or out (maybe with the folding chairs😁).... I like the wide stance wheels, wish the grey tanks were connected with one dump, I'd like to see some other options for the lounge/couch... Maybe a full sofa recliner. But the large bed, that's walk around enough to get into (IMO)... and the nice storage in the bedroom and that pantry.... She really checks some good boxes for me!!!
This is a very interesting floor plan. I recommend a few changes to make this camper even better. 1. 6’9” ceiling height. 2. 1 sink in the bathroom. 3. Roof ladder. 4. Rear receiver hitch for bike rack. 5. Move the handle down in the upper cabinet in the bathroom so the handle doesn’t hit the window valance. 6. Same size doors on the pass through. 7. One sewer outlet. 8. Factory solar option. 8. Table mod as you described Josh. 9. Queen bed option. 10. Shelves in upper kitchen cabinets. 11. Awning over outdoor kitchen. My two cents. Thanks again for another great video.
I like this floorplan a lot. I'm with you about the unnecessary second sink and having a movable table. Definitely need to at least have a better option for solar upgrades. I know there are lots of people who love king beds but I'd prefer just a true queen. Love the dinette idea with the one modification and that sofa looks super comfy. A porcelain potty is nice but as you said that's an easy upgrade. Good weight range and reasonable price.
Some really good things but some big misses. That table has got to be removeable. Also, there needs to be an entertainment cabinet which allows the controls to move rearward. Climbing onto the bench to see and reach controls is just no good. Second sink should go in bathroom. With respect to doors, make a simple set of counter bores in the door edge with a Forstner bit, glue in a rare earth magnet, and place a steel plate on the door frame. I would prefer a queen bed and a solar panel on the roof. We don’t care about a camp kitchen, especially with no awning coverage and our telescoping ladder is much better than any fixed ladder. Keep up the good work Josh!
Definitely needs a good solar package with around 180 watts to start and panel mounts pre-installed for expansion. Also instead of dual 20lb propane tanks, it would be nicer if there were at least 2 30lb tanks.
100% right about the sinks. I agree with making the table moveable. Love this floorplan tho. I like the cutting board counter tops. Like the corner closet thing. WOuld be curious if it could be modded for a combo washer. If they want feedback on solar then I would say put very large cable on the portable connection instead of the 10A type that's only good for one panel. So even if you want to roof mount a bunch of solar you can run a single wire down along the inside of the nose cap into the storage where the controller connection is. This would make it an easy add for anyone with reasonable handy skills and appeals to both people that want to plug in or roof mount their solar and allow it to be as big as you want it. That's like a $10 add to the cost for that many options. Probably spend more on marketing and explaining the possibilities than the actual connector.
Love this floor plan for size! Please get rid of the second sink, and great idea for removable table. Tower power would be nice somewhere. A smaller counter and cabinets in bath would make room for a closet to the left of the entrance door. This would make room for a swiffer and taller things, like maybe a full length mirror on outside of closet door? What do you think Josh?
Nothing I point out is a deal breaker. This is an awesome travel trailer and now on my list to see in person. The color scheme inside is pretty, like the sofa, like the table/chair seating, like the fridge size, ample storage inside, decent tv placement (even though it doesn't come with one). Love the outside kitchen and storage. Ample walk-thru space when slide is in. That being said...here's the negatives. All RVs should at least come with solar prep now days. Not a fan of the bathroom on the other side of the camper from bedroom. (So when you get up in the middle of the night, wander the house & pee) I agree with you, double sink not necessary. Storage would be better. I don't like the backsplash/wallpaper in kitchen. I also agree, a removable table would be much better. Again, none are a deal breaker. I would buy this unit. Good job Heartland!
WOW! It's so nice and modern and spacious!!! So glad I clicked on this video as always! Never seen one like it! Thanks for a new RV Josh! Pretty good weight too!
Ok just My thoughts on this one, needs a bigger oven, Doesn't need 2 bathroom sinks, Double kitchen sink, USB plugs near the dinette thing, needs larger propane tank, Needs solar package, better roof system that doesn't need maint/resealing.
In the modern age, with a camper like this, 100w should be the base/standard package. Upgradable to 300w. 100w of solar is a low cost selling point. Not that I am condoning this, but I have seen the cheap chinesium solar controllers and panels that other OEMs install. I know it can be done cheap. Of course I want to see all campers come with full blown off-grid solar/LiFePo/inverter setups, but most people don’t need that. But a 100w panel keeps the batteries up in storage and really helps when boondocking.
Great Floor plan. Only changes I would like to see would be a single sink in the bathroom, a smaller camp kitchen door to allow a full length awning, loose the second air option and replace with a solar package, lastly for the desk/table, update that to new units that are legless (usually only allow to lower for dinette bed, but make so it folds flat down hang). Food for thought.
This is close to being the ultimate couples only work-from-camping camper. I often need to work from my camper, and that desk setup is fantastic. I like the double sink, even with the toilet there. If the couch wasn’t a hidey bed, but had a recliner function, that would be awesome - I don’t want or need guests! I can’t imagine a trailer with this much potential doesn’t offer even a minimalist solar capability. Travel access is fine by me. Hitch receiver on bumper for bike rack? How’s the baby doing?
Great job North Trail and Josh!!!! This one is awesome! The only things I would change is the bathroom sink (just as Josh said) and the back splash over all the kitchen area up to the cabinets. Wow, really nice!!!
Yes, the idea of a screen door latch (if anyone can remember those) would be great on the bedroom pocket door. Also I bet Weird Al could do a great job if he ever did "butt scootin boogie" if he ever got the idea.
That is the first whole video I’ve watched in a while. I love this one! I totally agree about the table should be removable and the chairs should be the folding type. I would much rather have one larger bathroom sink.
This is very nice camper. I would change the dining table to be freestanding, the dining chairs to be folding, the window behind the dining table to be bigger, and the tv on at elevator for tv behind the dining bench. A standard 200 watt solar package would be nice. Yes, the longer awning and lose the hidden second sink in the bathroom would be nice.
Table needs to fold down or be removable. Solar prep at a minimum. 200 watts would be a great start. Single sink would be great but we don’t mind the double sink. Love this floor plan, a couple of minor tweaks and it would be perfect for us. Well done! Great review, as always!
I agree with you on that double sink. One big sink would work much better. The elevated counter would work perfect for a buffet so that the kitchen table is open just to eat on. I like the corner couch where you can sit comfortably and your wife can lay down too. The counter space is GREAT compared to other travel trailers. For the table, if you put one of the chairs in front of the table, you can work on the table and watch the TV too. Is the AC quit? This one has more bedroom storage than our TT. Love the floors.
Suuuuuwwweeeeet!! 😃 Wow, this one's a beauty! (A single vanity sink is much better, agree. But the rest of the bathroom space is awesome! As is the entire RV. I like desk-ette, too ~ you have an immediate place to set groceries, etc, when you enter the door. What if the tabletop rested on a slide-track, with a fold-down leg on the opposite side? Then it could be slid in & out toward the bench seat as needed. (Or just include a nice free-floating folding table. Either-Or.) The vast amount of counter space is so nice to see & the big poofy couch makes you want to sink into it & hang out. Re the bedroom - love the wall cabinet storage & how the kitchen sink area was subtly angled to create that space, absolutely. And a typical walk around bed is probably not necessary - most people are only in the bedroom to sleep or to sit & change clothes. Hats off to the designer(s)! 🎩'' (If people buy these for long-term living, which I can see happening, yes - a 1-2 panel/100-200 watt roof solar package should be an available option.)
I really love this floor plan, I would agree one sink in the bathroom and make the table removable. I outside kitchen is great !!! Some Solar would be great...
I did like the Murphy bed with good storage, that I saw fefore this one. The counter area was huge. A North trail. I think.. I KNOW U WERE EXCITED ABOUT IT.. JOSH, PPL ARE BUYING RVS DUE TO UR VIDEOS. WE TRUST U. THAT MEANS UR DOIN' GOOD. THANK U.
I love this floor plan!!!! 3 changes I'd make: I'd make that dining table removable as you said, cut back the kitchen cabinets and counter enough a larger person could slide past the closed slide to the bedroom, and in the bathroom: I would remove the sink by the toilet, putting counter depth cabinets in that space, then remove the cabinets by the shower so the shower stall could be bigger in length (easier to accommodate shower chairs aftermarket) I'd also make a true queen bed, solar, and ladders optional.
I like this one, just a few changes. Queen size bed, get rid of the second sink in the bathroom, make the dinette table a floating table, hook closure for bedroom door.
Not trying to brown nose but you're dead on about this build! Man,maybe we'll get lucky and the company will hear our feedback and change a few things!! 🤞🏻
Just a thought... Wouldn't a Lagun- style table mount be nice on the sofa? It would make it nice for entertaining. This is a great floor plan and it has kitchen drawers!
Really cool Floorplan. Would love a large theater seat swaption. Cuddle compliant to have room for the dog in the middle. Love the frankinstein dinette
This is a neat floor plan. I agree with most comments about the bathroom sinks and more storage....the small baggage door on the outside....the lack of solar....the table that needs to change. I think if the dining area kinda took a look at what Grand Design did with that moving bench and table. I think it was in an Imagine. And give me a tv. Wish there was a way to have a televator. I like the colors in this rv. Plenty of countertop space. I like the kitchen! I also like the sofa area. If they did the movable bench with storage in it...can use it in front of the sofa. The outside kitchenette is cool! The big outside storage! Like that it is 50amp. Needs a porcelain toilet. Not liking can't get to the bedroom. Is it swintech (sp) slide. 🤔 I just do not like having water hookups exposed and not behind something that I can lock. Am I the only one who thinks someone might mess with the water? UGH! 🙄🤨 Thanks for the video, Josh. Like seeing something that has a bit of a different look.
No - I have similar thoughts about people messing with stuff but I remind myself they’re just enjoying their vacation and don’t give a lick about my rig
I really like this one! I just love looking at the new trailers! Agree that two sinks in the bathroom is unnecessary. more counter space and or more storage...
Great demo of a really well thought out unit. I appreciate pointing out the negatives too, you don't see that enough and being in the biz, you're observations do carry some weight. I actually agree with pretty much every criticism you have. I hope they listen. BTW, I usually just skip through these vids to see the stuff I wanna see and ignore the rest. You made it actually fun to watch :)
love this floor plan - wish the bathroom was smaller to make the overall camper length shorter and add more windows, but it's the solar that's a deal breaker
I like the layout, but you are right, two or 3 things would make this better inside. As you pointed out, the table would be better if it was removable, the double sink do away with it, make it: storage, laundry hamper, portable compact washer connection, or something to that extend. Prefer queen bed as you say make use of the storage box right there. One thing i dont like is the fact that the counter space sticks into the trailer that much. Otherwise a neat layout for a travel trailer.
Totally agree on the bathroom sinks. What were they thinking? Doesn't make it upscale with two lavatories. One big one would be better. Nice trailer, but too big for my uses.
I LOVE this lay out! Dammit Josh! Every time I think I've made up my mind you post one of THESE!! LOL Love the table set up, tho would lie them to design it so it slides back to the bench & locks in place. Agree about the double sink, waste of space. Put storage there or Washer/dryer combo & put in a corner sink. LOVE that kitchen!!
@@JoshtheRVNerd Definitely looks a little more roomy. We agreed with you on just one sink in the bathroom, as well as the table needs to be free-standing.
Josh, I thought at first this might be the one to knock off the Cougar 22mls as the king of couple campers. But only a few minutes in, no way this beats the 22mls. Keep the great videos coming, one thing for sure, you are #1. 😎
Okay, so in general this layout rocks. I agree with the bathroom sink layout. I’d rather have the greater counter space and one larger sink. For the living room it would be nice to have a sofa with double recliner options vs. the chaise sofa they have. As someone who lives in my current 30 YO travel trailer full time finding one like this with some minor adjustments would be great. And solar panel options are a must! 100 watts to start, up to say 400 from the factory. And if we can’t access the roof then how are we to maintain it? Thanks again for the awesome video Josh!
Ok, adding this to my top five narrow down list 2024. Agreed, drop down on the table, folding chairs, single bathroom sink, extend the awning, solar packages! Love all the counter space. How about taking the grill onto a bumper mount to make the kitchen smaller so the awning can be extended? 🎯 Outdoor fridge helps keep the RV cleaner. Would rather have a larger shower, move storage to the second, hard to reach sink area. Thin closet might fit with larger shower, great for hanging items, brooms, stick vacuum, mop… The lack of solar may be the one thing that puts one of the other RVs on my short-list over this one, though, despite the unique layout. 🥺 With the difficulty of finding park reservations, the ability to boondock or utilize a no hookup site is very attractive, and absolutely necessary here in So Cal.
Incredible RV Josh!!! Agree on the double bathroom sinks - one is better - build out more cabinet space where the second sink is - still plenty of counterspace! Add 10 more gallons of fresh water(plenty of cargo capacity) and a good solar package and this is great couples trailer! Perhaps modify the passthrough storage to be more narrow where the doors are with a storage pocket extending under the bed - accessible from inside or out - this gives you more walk around space with minimal loss of storage.
@@JoshtheRVNerd We have a 2022 Alliance Valor 40V13. We currently work out of the garage area. But at retirement, we want something about the size of that trailer! LOVE the layout!! Thanks for all of your entertaining and informative videos! We've been full-time for 7 years and are still learning!!
Having a piano hinge on the table would be the perfect solution for the table to allow it to be folded down vs removed completely. I would agree with the one sink feature in the bathroom and solar prep for sure. Otherwise, this layout is really a perfect one!
