I honestly don't understand why this is being addressed as something new. It's shield tanking and was how most frames built defense back in the day. I'm talking pre-Steel Path. The reason shield gating became *the* Meta is because people were pushing those level cap boundaries where enemies one shot you and shield gating is really the only reliable(ish) defense. Shield tanking has always been viable for 95% of all content. I'm not trying to be a butthead by saying this; I'm just legit confused if I'm missing something here. Is this more of a reminder to old players or a introduction to new players that there are alternative forms of defense viable in end-game?
I would say new players. Us Veteran players have already figure most of this stuff out already. I'm just thankful he did suggest a 1,000 plat riven. As long as I have been playing, I still don't have an Acceltra riven 😢.
@@jameswesth-dtalk2081 I hear ya man. Riven mods in general sounded awesome on paper to me and I get why some people love them....I just can't get into them. They feel like they were designed to be chase items but turned into just another RNG time sync that you can just buy your way into with enough plat. I don't think I actually use a single Riven that I got myself and just use a couple I bought for specific weapons.

He doesn't mention the shield recharge delay when your shield fully breaks, and the 80% reduction cap on purpose. This is a bait video, the build doesn't work above base lvl missions. He's fully aware of this as well.

I've been playing a notionally similar shield-tank, gun platform build on Saryn but my approach is a bit different. Rather than going overboard modding for recharge, that's basically covered by just Arcane Aegis and I boost my EHP with Adaptation and Eclipse. This doesn't require a specific companion set-up to function or any specific archon shards, and it's probably less prone to being one-shot. It's actually a nice package (two mods, an arcane, and Eclipse) that can work on basically any frame that otherwise struggles with survivability. The option to team-buff with the Eclipse augment is also pretty great. If you're cruising comfortably with Adaptation stacked and need more oomph you can also switch Eclipse to damage mode. Though admittedly it's not as strong of a damage buff as Roar, I think the flexibility is worth the trade-off.

Been rocking shield regen builds for a few months now. Quite a few frames synergize very well with shield tanking setups; Gyre, Nova & Jade have all been fantastic shield tank platforms. Something worth considering on regen builds is combining normal Sure footed & Fortitude, this will give you knockdown immunity and a massive recharge rate increase.
You're forgetting that DE allows builds to get so out of hand balance wise because players like to push them to level cap because apparently the game is too easy but you're neglecting the fact that a good bit of people play the game casually because games are supposed to be fun. The only way DE is gonna make the game hard enough to require high level builds is if they start including things that will lead to deaths that people feel are cheap. I mean look at how people reacted to bombard oneshots, dealing with chunking heavy gunners, eximus units and their reworks, acolyte and other similar miniboss mechanics and how quickly they can kill you if you don't know the differences between all the acolytes ect. The community that wants the game to be SIGNIFICANTLY harder is obviously the minority so if you want the game to be harder I'd recommend you do a bit of research on game design and make suggestions on how to make the game harder when DE does streams instead of just saying "game needs to be harder"
@@ShadowNemesis575these two ideas can coexist. You can have difficult, team based, endgame content while the rest of the game continues as is. The majority of the game is fine as is, but Warframe is definitely lacking in the endgame.
i agree we do need some actual hard content with the amount of things we can use but de stil needs to be keep it casual and keep the power fantasy which is hard

I already had self overguard in my mag with the arcane on my secondary. I never needed to worry about prime sure footed, that I don't have. Can't believe they made it even easier now.
Fast Deflection and Vigilante vigor is how I've been doing EDA solo (I effectively only play solo unless it's to grind affinity or for relic cracking), funnily enough there's a bug with them and gauss + arcane aegis where it'll just make it so aegis is perma active once it's been triggered once and as such you have a zero recharge delay, I think you can probably tell the stupidity of that. I don't have primed sure footed but regular sure footed with fortitude will get you that full knockdown immunity and adds another 100% shield regen rate which is mighty fine even if it's eating up a slot for ability strength in this particular setup.
btw add arcane aegis and fass canticle for literally 15 seconds immortality every time you get the fass canticle buff. its a bug, and it will probably get patched.

It would be interesting to see what your take would be on a build using Quick thinking and Gladiator finesse......also......Fortitude will grant you an additional 100% shield recharge. Great vid 👌
I'm more curious what he was stuck on using all those shards. Like, wouldn't it have been a bit simpler to use an orange tao shard for Sheild blast on shield repair and save one mod slot for the shield regen?
@@justinholdt1806 but you also reducing shield recharge delay and the recharge value from the mods are percent base which scales way better for a high shield value than the topaz shard flat value of 5
@Tenshi0913 yeah that's kinda of the issue. While they're strong what does that leave the flesh pets with? Charm for one spefic cat and the stalk for the dog and the panzer for viral priming. Just think that they're so left behind and with the charm nerf coming. Well that makes me wonder if they'll nerf the sentinels to "balance them" when flesh pets need more verity that with make them stand out.

Is there a version of this build for newer players? Archon shards and arcanes are mind to late game content and not everyone would know how to get them fast. Most of archon/arcanes farms require quite advanced builds so it's kinda viscous circle for new players, where you want to get better so you they look up a build that tells them to get the engame stuff so they look up the guide for that and they just bounce from one guide to another, leaving them overwhelmed and quitting the game. I'm writing this because my friend recently started playing and almost quit couple of times because of that.
You don't need archon shards for this. This shield regen build works on other frames. I use on my nekros with Diriga. And I have 0 archon shards on him. Instead of primed redirection I use Fortitude, and if you pair it with sure footed, you can be 100% imune to CC. In my opinion, the one that saves you the most is diriga. You can use him to apply alot of status effects and CC enemies, so you can be even more safe. I advise you to invest on him, cause diriga super useful, he also can deal A lot of damage, while shielding you, applying CC, priming for your weapons ( condition overload, and galvanizeds), also can help you with energy sustain with equilibrium and synth deconstruct or duplex bond.
About the Damage and Arcanes... Well, you only will have to worry about it once you reach Steel Path. And for that, its better if you just do the main story, unlock zariman, Where you gonna be able to farm the first incarnon weapons, wich will help you getting your arcanes and galvanized mods. The weapons that i used to get there where Amprex, atomos and broken war. Also ignis and ignis wraith are really good ones too. ALSO, doing the main quests, you gonna get XORIS and Nataruk for FREE. These itens deal BIG NUMBERS Of damage when well moded.
Just play octavia wukong rhino kullervo and put like one efficiency mod on them. Should be enough for all content. If you want beginner guides go to mhblacky. He is more casual. The target audience of this channel are veterans.
He is just making a shield regen byild works on saryn. If u want an easier immortal shield regen build then u could use gauss with 2 regen mod + vazarin's guardian break, redirection and arcane aegis is optional but highly recommended. This is basically the basic of immortal afk gauss build (even at lvl 9999 and of cos except toxin eximus, nothing can kill you). And I haven't mention helminth and other stats, this is where you build your own playstyle.
I'm MR16 and i havent done any steel path because i've been under the impression that you had to be this high APM god gamer, generally im just trying to chill so i decided that SP just wasn't for me and whenever i tried to do it the 'chill' way, i just died over and over. I'm glad to hear that there's ways to take it chill, but i have a bit of a modding problem and my weapons aren't strong enough for SP yet unfortunately.
@@pacevfx that is not necessarily true I did solo Umbra cascade lvl cap and didn’t die or only died once. Umbra is definitely no where near meta as he don’t have any defensive ability or a one handed casting ability to use. During that run I did not armor strip or had a damage boosting ability. The game is just easy, there still are frames that you can play to make the game more difficult or the use the 4 dragon keys.

Meta is something w/o using much of ur brain or making the game easy AF as a whole, including dps AND SURVIVABILITY. She is NOT meta lol.
@@SusBTV I guess you don’t know how to shield gate properly because molt is literally one best shield gating abilities as it is a no hand instant cast ability that cleanse status. Saryn is one of the easiest frames to level cap with, if you understand game mechanics.

number of days of people not confusing Popular & META = 0. understanding the difference of what makes something "meta" and why certain things are popular seriously needs to be a warframe 101 before modding. also the only thing that is "meta" on the entire Loadout is the Helminth and Focus school (which is interchangeable).
The problem is that toxic lash and venom dose damage bonus. You trade off a slight bit of shields for a ridiculously easier time killing enemies. If they are dead, you can’t really be killed either.
Not sure if it still works or if they patched the interaction out yet. But Knightmare, have you tried this Saryn build of yours with either a Sobek with Acid Shells, OR any beam weapon using Primed Firestorm and Combustion Beam? I know the Sobek setup still works, its the Combustion Beam and Firestorm I think might have been nerfed when they made the nerf to AOEs.
those are old setups i think he did since tenet flux rifle could equip combustion beam and i think he did that one prob sobek but i think hes jsut tired of sobek since the kuva came out
@@noahedenborg4221 i mean lol then use kuva sobek. the main thing about beam weapons i my case for suggesting it. Specifically a beam that bounces, since it used to allow the combustion beam to trigger off the bounce. Which depending on how close the enemies are to each other, you can literally chain the explosion of combustion beam and wipe a whole room continuously as long as there are enemies to chain to.

What you aren't considering with saryn though is that with Toxic Lash active I am fairly certain the toxin proc is transfered through the Combustion Beam explosion since the original hit applied it. Or at least it used to, that might have been something they patched out I can't remember.
Honestly I enjoy not love her kit. Meaning my main issue with her is she really solid but lack proper mobility in tank mode. Yes I've seen some cheeky things with that problem but I need it more obvious,by just removing that restriction all together. Everything else is fine even augment to a degree. Maybe could use changes but I don't mind them as is fo now. Of course update passive to something that help fine tune her kit. Like maybe freeze abilities cost(stop all channeling abilities only) based on enemies caught in her 3(main/(not necessarily best) signature ability to me). That's much but I think brings her in line with Warframe 2ish.
As a Nyx Main Myself, I would like to see how DE going to rework her. I just hope she won't be a different warframe, Instead I would like them to Buff her
This is weird. If youre using fast deflection and vigilante vigor, it makes more sense to use catalyzing shields for the 0.2 second shield recharge delay to fall within the guaranteed 1.33 second shield gate. That virtually eliminates the need for rolling guard. I normally don't try to call out someone else's buildd, because I'm all about evolving and learning, but shield tanking would only be useful with deflection and vigor if there was a way to fully restore all the shields you've invested for a full shield gate without shields taking damage. And a rank 1 combat discipline would work better with nourish to keep procing the viral spread, which would free up some space for you to use contagion cloud.

Bro, any weapon on saryn is a goat. U already get toxin and corrosive from toxic lash and venom dose, u get viral from nourish on 4th. Go for a magnetic progenitor u get forced cold and magnetic, put radiated reload for radiation what's left??. Try putting just 2 mods, radiation and status chance in simulacrum. Saryn shreds every thing on glaxion. Leavethe remaining mod space for dust and it still shreds level 215 EDA. I've already did it lol. Literally 2 mods on glaxion and Saryn on EDA haha. Only issue was survival, dps wise SHRRREEDSS everything it just booped. 😂

I am so confused about this build, the damage numbers are like 7k to 70k, how is this supposed to be high damage when there are instances when even a 600k is not even half hp of some creatures in steel path?
? nothing has that much hp at base steel path(OK tbf nothing might be a stretch some bosses might have that or some deimos enemies) . You might be confusing things with ehp. A sp lvl 300 corrupted heavy goon has 360k. Also on screen numbers are a bit unreliable with most faster hitting builds or builds with secondary dmg components. Really you should just be looking at how fast the enemies are dying to get a better idea of your damage as dps is the thing that matters not per hit damage in a build that hits like a billion times per second.
@@soraneptune4178 that's a good point, damage in warframe is mor confusing than in any other game i've played. some stuff melt, and then some stuff on the same map take forever to down
@@framinthor is just resistances to certain damage types most of the time and also some units are just simply tankier than others (for example heavy goons and bombards are naturally much healthier than a butcher or a lancer) + other things like eximus units.

i liked warframe. I played it for years. but it got too grindy. i got tired of looking at things that were from daily login rewards only and nowhere else. i got tired of all of the time gated events. all the reputation grinds. all the resource grinds. i got tired of the FOMO
Shield regen built won't work in steel path!!! I've tried to build Gauss which passive loudly tells us - shields recharge FAST! BUT - Recharge Delay reduction is capped at 80%, and when shieldgate kicks in the delay reduction can not be lower than the shieldgate duration. IT IS A WASTE FOR MOD SLOTS to put 2 extra mods for recharging shields. If you want to run normal missions, put Redirection and Adaptation. If you have, put Arcane Aegis which will proc more often due to high shield capacity. THAT'S ALL! Even for Steel Path. Invest more in damage or utility mods. P.S. I can imagine a lot of veterans laughing at the video
You’re just wrong about this, shield regen builds are absolutely viable. They aren’t often the best build on many frames, but on certain frames they really shine in steel path.
first of all there is only 2 mods that have anything to do with recharge delay and only like 4 frames that can effect it with abilities so your not likely to hit the 80% cap and ohh yes shield regen mods can definitly make you regen all your shields in 1-2 seconds using the sentinel mods plus constant shield refreshes from guardian, you should def use adaptation always for any face tanking build, to say you cant take this to steel path you def can probly upwards of 1000+ before it starts getting too crazy i just did elite deep arch with a shield regen build thats lvl 450+ish no problems

Everyone can clear lvl 225 sp enemies with just basic stuff come on . Yes he showcases his high end equipment but why are ppl always crying about kfs videos. Boy just learn how to mod and kill them. They are not lvl 9999 just lvl 100-200 on your content.

Guess who was eating crayons instead of paying attention. For Manifold Bond to reduce the cooldown of Guardian, the enemies need to die with 3 or more status effects on the target. This is why we need to diversify our status output. KMF's build right here provides us with very consistent Viral, Electric and Toxin Damage with the occasional IPS status. Your build with Green Shards on the other hand gives us Viral and Toxin and overbuffs the Viral elemental Bonus on the weapon, diminishing the chance for IPS status. That's only two status procs, with three procs only consistent on direct hits. Congratulations, your green shards increased the damage from a oneshot to a oneshot. And all you sacrificed was your reliable survivability. You really are one of the Warframe players of all time.
@sakul7026 ok first thing u get 2 status from just sarys ability and I wonder we're we can get the 3rd one he is adding electric damage with 2 instead of running 4 green with 45% extra damage each 45x4 180% toxin damage with and extra 80+ toxin damage from toxic lash so u are really dumb

Out of all the game i played ,I can say this game has the most passionate developers by far. They always do the DEV stream before every update and Prime time stream for every two weeks.
