I am thinking of going Cobb for tuning too, but the OBD11 to turn off that pumped in engine noise!

I’m not Cobb I use Cobbs access point but I am tuned with EQT. It’s waaaaaay better. Also lmk how you like the obd11 I’m debating on getting one so I can code some stuff in my car

Is the CTS turbo inlet sensibly the same as the 034 one? Was thinking on going IE inlet + intake for my S3, but I'd like to keep a stock look as you have. Might just go for the insuction kit you linked instead.

From my understanding all the inlets are pretty much the same you're pretty much just paying for the name. I went with 034 to keep the bay looking as stock as possible.

You got 1psi more on boost? Inlet does ZERO on the stock turbo, let alone have any affect on boost. That's in the tune 🤣 It would only be a restriction if you had a larger turbo, but not a restriction for the factory set-up (tuned or not). The "oil" inside your stock Inlet may be from the air filter (if you use an oil based one) OR blow-by from the PCV that isn't holding up as strong. But my bet is with the K&N oiled filter - just clean it and don't oil it.

It cracks me up laughing when people put these gimmicks on their cars as if the designers and engineers from VW don’t know what they are doing.. literally throwing money down the drain.. the only thing semi worth anything is a custom tune and even still that will wear out your drivetrain double fast.. just enjoy what the experts have made..

I don't think the designers and engineers at VW made performance the top priority for the Mk7, otherwise the cost of the vehicle would have been much higher than it is. A decent turbo inlet elbow will improve the pre-turbo pressure loss; whether you consider that throwing money down the drain or not is a personal value decision.

@@mygolfmk7209 I bought a 034 motorsport one, worst quality I’ve ever seen and then it made zero difference at all. When you add air and fuel, you’re changing the perimeters set in the ecu, it is DESIGNED! to suck a certain amount of air and fuel, change it, then you need to change the ecu tune.. simple..

Cars now a days are made to strick emissions standards and laws. That’s why there are so many 1997cc (2.0L) turbo engines. People in Europe would be taxed much more if it had different parts and power. There’s a reason why a simple tune makes the car more efficient and make more (safe) power by only adding a higher flowing intake. The cars parameters change based on weather, air density, age of components and how you drive the car. Simple modifications do less to change those parameters then the different type of area these vehicles drive in.

@@AussieWhitePride Worst quality you've ever seen? Could you be more descriptive about what made it the worst quality you've ever seen? The inlet elbow does not change the amount of air flowing into the turbocharger. The inlet elbow, as I stated previously, "will improve the pre-turbo pressure loss". What variables did you try measuring? How did you operate the car when you were measuring them? How many samples did you record with each inlet elbow and how did you analyze the measures?

@@mygolfmk7209 it’s flimsy aluminium coated in a textured black coating.. mass produced.. the seal on the turbo housing was an absolute fucking joke the o ring was wayyyyy to small, had to use the oem one, and it still wobbled around indicating a piss poor seal. These aren’t “performance” specialty engineered parts, they are Chinese mass produced shite, palmed off as a racing upgrade.. and the price they charge for it is completely and utterly outrageous.. 40 bucks max! It’s bloody aluminium, cheap shit.. I sent back for another one from shop and the other one was exactly the same.. junk! I use the oem one now and feels identical..

If its a K&N filter it should be red. So it needs re-oiling.
