Hey mate been running them on Percy the Prado for years and they are THE tyre in our opinion. Way thicker ply makes them tough to pop and a lot of the time a screw won’t be long enough to penetrate the tread blocks!!

@@SarahandKeelanTravels Yeah, its a hard one mate, it was a 2008 model & I got it in 2015 with about 175,000 kms on the clock, it went well and I did give it a bit at times admittedly, it actually didn’t show any symptoms until after 3 years on and I did notice it blew a tiny bit of smoke occasionally, this got worse in the next 12 months & I fitted a catch can as it was starting to use a fair bit of oil, was getting smokier and was starting to get a bit Smellyer inside, particularly if u left the fresh air vent open due to the ingress of fumes, probably more so when it was parked, as the under bonnet fumes would then get inside the cabin space via the fresh air vent while it was still hot. Another 6 months on and I was starting to have check engine lights come on and it would go into limp mode, I forget the code number, but it was pointing toward the variable vane turbo actuator’s, if the actuators/controller draws 3-6Amps it will throw a light/code and go into limp, suggesting that it had a shot turbo. As it turned out I got a new turbo on passenger side (which is symptomatic of dusting because the dirt flys past the 1st turbo diversion tube for the driver side & straight on to the passenger side turbo, due to velocity of the particles), and on further inspection/evaluation we (Toyota & myself) concluded that the variable vane geometry had become gunked/carboned up from all the extra oil I was burning and the vanes were getting sticky & required more power to drive them, hence the amperage goes up & throws a light. The turbo was still ok & with a little squirt of DWF and a bit of freeing up it was soon working ok, but I installed a new one anyhow and done the injectors while I was there as they were scanning a bit on the suspect side also. So I didn’t fix the real problem (the rings were buggered, at least), but this kept it going for another year before a battery fire took it out and engulfed the whole vehicle, so insurance paid out, thankfully it was a happyish demise to an otherwise great vehicle. Honestly Keelan, I dont know if there are any real symptom’s u can check before it is too late (air box, etc) if it does get dusted, I was using 1Ltr oil/1000kms, it was a bit smoky but not that bad and virtually no indication of any power loss ever, but did use more oil if I stuck my foot to it.

Would be good if the box had rubbers under the mounts to provide isolation from the body and engine 😢 Really a huge oversight!
