Mike, you sure are a great fabricator and made the trailer into a nice boat hauler. You and Liz can do just about anything your heart desire. Continued blessings to you and Liz and keep smiling.
Hey nice job on fab'ing the trailer for john boat. Here in south Florida I see the trailers skids covered with carpet/fake grass to prevent scratched on the fiberglass hauls. Your aluminum haul should withstand. Nice! Thanks for sharing
Nice boat brother- I fished with a 12 foot aluminum seaking w/o a trailer for many years all i had was a trolling motor - but pond jumping with it here in central California- I caught more big largemouth bass than most of my friends that had legit bass boats lol- enjoy that boat - nice trout on the fly - TIGHTLINES bro!!
That'd make a great duck boat, just have to throw some OD Green on it, and a little camo. I hunt Lake Okeechobee here in Florida with a Grizzly 1648, no problems. The trailer modifications were great, but I'd run some metal from the frame back under the skids. Won't be long with the weight of that motor bouncing, your little brace will give way I believe. Love ya'll ❤
Put some carpet over the wood....that will protect the boat bottom and give some better hold so the boat should not slide back so easily. Good job Mike!
Hey Gang, saw Martin Johnson gang visiting the homestead 👍, God's Good Blessings to you and your beautiful family keep up the great work love U guys XOXOXO stay safe and healthy
After doing something like this similar for our boat years ago, we recommend putting carpet down for ease of loading and less wear points on the aluminum boat. Look into marine-grade carpet
Isaiah 11:4-5 King James Version 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. 5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. Gods blessings over you .
If the outboard tilts, get used to putting it up when ramping in and when carrying to and from the river. One large bump or an unexpected rock etc on the ramp can remove the motors keg in a heartbeat. Other than that, use it as much as possible and enjoy your time afloat
Looks like you have either a 20" or a 25" shaft lower unit on your outboard motor and your boat looks like it has a 15" high transom ! Getting the underside of the cavitation plate on the outboard lower unit even with the bottom of the boat will improve speed, fuel economy and allow shallower water usage without hitting bottom with the prop or skeg. FYI ! ! !
Great job on the trailer, I have a 5 horse Evinrude just like your 10 hp and mine runs so sweet. It idles down so low you could almost use it as a trolling motor. It has a cage at the propeller for creek or river use.
Not sure using oars from the backseat will work, at least not work well. P.s. 2 by's used like you are using them are called bunks and are usually covered in carpet to protect the boat's bottom.
