Hi! Ren is a divine gift to this world! Ive yet to find anything of his i didn't absolutely love. Another divine gift is Chris Stapleton. I dont know if you ever heard (of) him? He has an Amazing voice & effortlessly delivers jaw dropping, goosebump worthy live performances. He's in the country music genre, so to speak, but is unique & talented enough to transcend genres. Its important to note than when checking out Chris Stapleton's music, check out the live versions. Never apologize for genuine emotion. ❤️ Music heals, and I've seen more healing happening in reaction to Ren's music than any other artist I can recall. If you want another intense, and intensely beautiful, one from Ren and Chinchilla, How To Be Me is gorgeous. (But a word of caution: it addresses that decision to end things.)

Im 68 now+like you had a bad needle habit. I havent had a needle in my vein for 40years now+dont even take cocodamol because the temptation in times of stress is one of the first things in my mind even now. Also like you when i first heard this song, and times from then, i have found myself in tears because of this young pairs eloquence, talent and insight to be able to produce such a beautiful piece of work, and recognising how it relates to your, mine+god knows how many people like us. I’m almost 40 and it’s worrying how many of us have those thoughts and terrifying how many act upon it. As men we need to be strong but life has a way of kicking us whilst we’re down. Never say sorry for being yourself. Its a strange thing to listen to music that makes you feel nothing when one of the gifts of music is to make you feel. I guess sometimes we all want a bit of background noise. But when you want to feel connected, understood & part of something bigger Music is most peoples link. I think Ren is a bit special & through his own understanding of pain is able to embrace others, to lift them up. Its a rare gift & why its lovely to see you so happy to have found him.

That's how I am (even worse) when I hear Freckled Angels. I lost my husband/best friend to lung cancer 7 years ago and every time I hear that song it just all comes back and I bawl. This guy does something different and can produce the strongest emotions in us (the listeners). It's magic. I have no other explanation.

I think you'd like the Ren and Chinchilla song How to be Me. But it was written about Ren's friend Joe whose life was lost to the darkness you survived. The thing I love most about Ren, as I hop from channel to channel watching everyone reacting to him, is how universal his music is. I've watched preachers in tears, housewives, rappers, musicians, therapists, men, women, he moves SO MANY humans on so many different journeys. What an artist. And Chinchilla! Phenomenal talent. I dont know what you've been through, but just knowing that this song might have united us in that space, even if we've had to survive it, feels both saddening and hopeful. I remember the large awkward kid in high school that I called a friend. Slipknot was the theme for us socially awkward teens. He left and I lost a friend but the music never left me. thank you for this reaction, i just turned 29 spent my whole life feeling like chalk outline, from abuse/PTSD spent years trying to burry it, and move forward. but nothing worked then when my grandmother died it broke to point i tried to drown myself and failed spent years hiding from the world. and truest form ren saved my life. i randomly found his "hi ren" video and it hit me so deep i dont know how to explain it anymore then that. and am now in therapy and taking steps to heal. i dont think that man knows how much he changed my life. truly.

Just found your channel today, and your first tear made me instantly subscribe. I'm nearly 50, and have recently broken habits that should have killed me. Was on meds for a while due to a miss diagnosis of a mental disorder. This song, and your reaction, resonates within me. This song is my latest addiction. My guy, I know your pain. I was on two anti-depressants for over a year that nearly killed me. I lost 20 pounds in a month from Lexapro because I couldn't eat more than a few hundred calories a day. Threw up a countless amount of times every day. It was the hardest time of my life. I got on nortriptyline after that, and for the next 8 months, my personality and emotions became numb. I wasn't myself anymore, and had even worse anxiety. I'm on the tail-end of this darkness now. Keep to the path. There really is light.

Your reaction was so emotional and heartfelt. I wish you the best seeing how hard it hit you. This song sounds like my life. I’m 59 and bipolar, and have battled it for decades. I’ve tried every kind of medication for extreme mania causing days of insomnia and the crippling depression that always follows. I understand walking around as a floating chalk outline. I’ve traced and erased myself in that outline all of my life. This song is incredible. It’s perfectly written, played and sung. i love you man, and i love how Ren's music is bringing these issues and truths to light. i see people commenting about their trauma and issues, opening up to strangers, when they've maybe never even spoken to ANYONE about them before. it's such heavy and sad stuff but brings about healing and understanding and closure and connection that many people would have never otherwise experienced. we all feel so fucking alone at times or all the time, but we have more in common than we think.

Thanks so much Julio 💜 Primary school was awesome didn't have much bullying going on there but going to the high school I went to I lost a lot of my primary school friends & yeah my high school days where pretty horrible luckily I left the school I was in after 3 years and went to study music but those 3 years in high school taught me lots about how people really can be if you just think a little differently then them. I've dealt with that trauma tho but in my twenties i just went down a huge spiral but glad to be out of that life. Past couple years have been really good and I'm enjoying life again 💜 Appreciate you dude for taking the time to comment. Will never forget those primary school and soccer days 🤘

It's sad how we're told not to show emotion, not to cry. You be you man, this one hits hard, especially if like myself you have a history of medications that didn't work, made things worse, and felt like and endless cycle of quack cures and nobody taking you seriously. For me, it is an incredibly beautiful thing to see someone moved by music, or, as I would class REN’s work, art. It is something we all struggle with but, to cry is a good thing and to be moved by something like this, to me, just emphasises the fact that we are alive. Hey Shaney. I’m truly caught in the ‘Ren Rabbit hole’ and I love it here. I’ve watched most of the ‘Hi Ren’ reactions and am now doing the rounds of ‘Chalk outlines’. As a fellow depression sufferer also blessed to be sober for 10 years, I know that this is going to be an emotional watch. The song itself tears at my heart as the identification is palpable.
