Main changes - Mastery gives raw damage increase now but the overloads are massively nerfed both in terms of damage and maelstrom generation. Earthquake has option where it just auto casts at target location huge quality of life improvement there. Ele blast and Earth shock are choice node now meaning ele blast might be taken in pvp, it also is instant cast with natures swiftness so huge burst potential there especially with mini lust/on use ascendance with 25% haste, maybe even with volcanic surge talent. New stats might be haste-crit/verse-mastery. Our crit damage got buffed even more, and with skyfury being built into PW via the pvp talent its one less GCD to use. Crit will affect ele blast, flameshock, frost shock/icefury and lava burst during ascendance which is quite often now and opens up a huge burst CD with on use ascendance which we can get in addition to DRE now, plus on use ascendance lasts longer and gives 25% haste while active. No more trying to hard cast icefury its a proc thing now, overall great change tho baiting kicks with icefury was sometimes useful since only locks frost. Easier access to liquid magma, tho still not sure if will be taken in pvp. Class tree changes are great bit more survivability especially with seasoned winds which puts is solid as an anti caster class though still prob struggle vs melee cleaves especially with static CD nerf. Sadly its all up in the air now as the vast majority of our damage both pvp and pve comes from PW tier set interaction the uptime of the haste buff from the reduced cd on it. Not too familiar with most other classes but i feel like the tier sets contribution to ele power was way higher than other classes so if we get a bad new tier set i feel like were going straight in the dumster again.
Magma totem did the same all through Dragonflight. Just poor ele didn't get all the extra love as they did recently like Skyfury. Most of the totems and things that you brought up have all been available in Dragonflight, just so much about the rotation was really clunky.
@@Telarius All I did was say that Magma totem did the same in Dragonflight. Where it puts Flame Shock on multiple targets and that MOST of the totems have always been available. Just cuz they were on a path that most heavy pvpers wouldn't choose, doesn't mean they weren't available. It's new to Venruki cuz he's on the same boat where he wouldn't pick it, so it's like it's brand new to him. I'm not gonna continue this with you.

Agreed. I think that anyone (Ven) who doesn't main a spec shouldn't be making sweeping statements and conclusions on said spec without significant time investment to properly know the class/spec. You're bound not to have an accurate view on it. Not to mention that prepatch always has balance issues.
that totem has existed since SL, it was mostly used for M+ "sometimes" it puts 3 flameshocks, honestly i rather have the talent we had that made a proc put flasmeshock on 2 targets on cast after a LB or something
Nothing will ever be better than cata ele. Casting while using lightning bolt was top tier gameplay! Everyone is saying “bfa” or “sl” lol. It’s no where near what it use to be 😩
Just because other specs are shit, doesnt mean ele is overpowered. They did “rework”, which my grandma would do better, and it just happens to be that ele is doing too much dmg cause of mastery. Now, because how ppl are crying lately about shamans, they will probably destroy it completly, so dont worry.. and your broken rogue and mages will still be broken, like in last 20 years

I hope they dont nerf ele because of pre patch. Its op because its not tuned on lvl 70, current tier set and also ele have weak hero talents on lvl 80.
I tried it on beta, it's the same if not worst coz of hero talents. I can push out close to 1M dps on single target with CDs... This lava burst spam nonsense have to go.

Yeah pre-patches are always weird with balance. Everyone has their giga end of expansion stats, with spells tuned for the new max level so any pvp in pre-patch is essentially everyone playing fully geared twinks lol. Nevermind no one is able to use their hero talents yet either. Still looking forward to ele nonetheless
I just wanna say that i love seeing you play different classes and commenting them etc, its so damn much fun and its so nice getting a good and professional insight into what the classes do.
This design used to be in effect for warlock but it was deemed a bug and unintended. They cut havoc down to 50% damage on its cleave. Weird they wouldn’t cap how many -chaosbolts- I mean lava bursts you can slam out. Let alone make it instant cast
The only thing they need to change for ele is all the sources of large haste. Primordial wave procs 24-40% haste for 12 seconds. Shamanism(bloodlust PvP talent) procs 20% haste for 10 seconds. Ascendance procs 25% haste for the duration if you choose the 3 minute version. So even if you gear 0% haste in season 1 and stack mastery, you could have a window of 70% haste if you combined abilities. This will lead to imbalance and degenerate builds that are either one shotting you or doing nothing.
I can't tell if WoW is more fun when its just everyone does huge dam and never CCs. Basically making it a healer check or a more setup style of play where you lockdown a healer with cc inside a kill window.
my mm hunter finaly feels like that aswell, i took wowhead talents and changed them a bit to what i like i got 478il in pvp gear and doing 600k+ bursts its crazy and i love it
Been a long time Shaman player, mostly enhance but dabbling in Ele. This may be the first season I "main" Ele rather than enhance, it is so fun to play now!
I did not play the game for while - how is solo queue ranked PvP going? Solo shuffle still 40 minutes ques? Did they (will they in next expansion) implement solo queue Ranked BGs (I remember hearing they were going to when I was playing)?
Inthink you need to build in Wind rush totem. 40% speed and remove snares = around 220% movementspeed in ghostwolf while melee is spamming gap closers. Beside static field and Earthgrab you are close to untouchable while spamming meatballs all over. Its insane atm 10-20% nerf to all dmg inc
25% less lava burst damage, pwave haste nerf to 10%, remove BL pvp talent, and all the problem solved. Flat all damage nerf is not a good solution, they have to fix the source of the problems. Right now this build is beyond broken (saying this as enha/ele shaman main since LK)
what a terrible class design, caster that doesnt have to cast, good old times where you get dopamine rush from creating space for yourself to get juicy casts off, now you just spam 1 2 3 and 4 occasionly 4 when it highlights itself while jumping around
Should also continue to consider that this is pre-patch, with off-stats outta whack. Will be interesting to see how the class scales when at 80 with TWW PVP gear. Would hate for it to get nerfed prematurely. Basing it off the play style, I quite enjoy the changes a lot of the QoL changes with Icefury/Ele blast/Prim wave, etc. Our Shaman talent side was previously cooked, really nice changes made to streamline choices.
I wouldn’t mind shaman being 3 times as overpowered as long as the rogues are kept in check, i would give up a whole lot of class balance for a reasonable amount of rogue balance.
Shaman basically barely changed from previous iteration - guess he is just salty because he got his ass whiped by an Shaman and now he must make a vid about like "oh wow! Shamy so stronkkk! Totem spreads flameshock?? brutal! 25 haste while ascension? OP!!! "yeah.... what a chad
Well, lets hope blizzard does the smart thing, and individually tunes shammy back for pvp only in some way. Ive seen nothing but videos crying about Shammy. Its fucking prepatch, balance is off and that is not something new. Watching streamers and content creators influence the game balance to their PERSONAL preferences is slowly killing it. But its a double edged sword, the content is good most of the time, but blizzard also watches the content. So, statements made by streamers and content creators out of frustration can completely kneecap class balance if it gets enough reach. They influence certain balance tuning because of their prestige and history in the game (which should NOT happen). Some realize this and address things reasonably, and some do it purposely (at times) like ven. Its fucking awful for players who just want to have fun.
Hello, I don't understand how you get several time the effect of primordial wave. (you cast primordial wave, your targets have flame shock dot thanks to the totem, then you do lava burst on every target) But in the video it seems that your lava burst hit all the dot targets several time, I thought it was one time a primordial wave.
I’m all for any dps class pumping huge damage as long as Blizz removes the majority of there defensives. Can’t have both!! That’s where it gets stupid. For example a tank and or healer should not be able to die to a single dps but in turn they should never be able to kill a dps. Having a healer kill you in pvp while remaining at full health is just stupid. Same as having another dps pump out crazy numbers while absorbing all your damage is stupid.
People will recognize ascendance soon to be "scary" so it's will be just the "CC me now!" annuance. Also, Bulwark totem will be 3 min CD (it's already on beta) so you can't reset it. It's almost useless since it's absorbs less than a mage shield except it's will have 6x the cooldown :D There are way better builds than this 'tard friendly lava burst spam build, it's okay for starters and who want to have "fun" moments on random bg's.
Magna totem is nothing new and could easily be spec'd into. Deeply Rooted has a very low proc rate, completely random & unreliable. The new Icefury mechanic also has a very low proc rate for frost shock, and also is very random. Deeply rooted & Icefury are poor mechanics in my view.

Why do Venruki have the dumbest youtube commentators? People in here trying to justify that ele is actually not good at all and saying Ven is only doing this to they don't nerf his main mages speccs.

I guess Im going back to twink my ele, just played it in saison 2 / 3 as enhc and ele (with one shot build) was quite funny in BGs and SS when ppl didnt what happend and u lava penetrate any class :D
yeah it's all good and dandy except you now absolutely HAVE TOO stack haste, and you need to sacrefy something for that skyfury from defensives. play some arena, you will see, with how much you get trained, it will be nearly impossible to cast and your sky fury goes to drain cause you NEEED borrow, static totem and grounding.
I started playing Rsham in S2 of Dragonflight to play healer in solo shuffle in order to get better queues, and Ele shaman slowly became my favorite spec. I know I wasnt in the trenches with the Ele shaman community since BfA or SL, but these changes are so fun
