It's been weeks since I was last at this large unit I bought in Turlock. I paid $2,700 and then rented it for 3 months for one reason.... he had rented this for 25 years! Last time, we found all sorts of interesting and random items. This time is no different. Are we going to find more outdoorsman stuff, more witchcraft items, or something entirely different? The answer is... all of the above.

Something that always strikes me when I watch your videos is how you never seem to get overwhelmed with all the stuff you go through. I know you make pretty quick decisions about what to do with stuff, but I feel like I would have so much decision fatigue about everything 😅

Another great locker! I think people who get so riled up over the books they disagree with actually give power to it instead of just ignoring it and moving along. When you ignore that stuff instead of hyper fixating on it, it holds no power over you. Your approach is healthy. 🙌🏼

I follow a RU-vidr who bought an abandoned convent in France. He is combining three floors of the building into a library by removing the ceilings. I have been wondering where he is going to get the books to fill it!

Jack, people that buy ephemera will buy those old photos. So will many artists that make rubber stamps. Companies like Ranger Industries and Tim Holtz.

I recognized that rock you thought could be a fossil. It's called a septarian concretion or nodule. No one really knows how they're formed, but it is thought that they were swept south from Canada by glacial activity during the past millennia. Very special!

I just bought a 10'x30' unit that's been in storage for at least 15 years at $335 a month. Going thru it Wednesday. There's a thick layer of dust! Fingers crossed there's something valuable

Jack, I think that green "rope" on the cannon is actually fuse cord. You light it, about 7 inches, to set the cannon off.

The Artograph projector is great, lasts a long time. It is used by many artists, over $200 new. A little clean-up and it could be sold for $50-100 easy.

The red electric scraper is for iced windows, the ornate bell is should have had a base and inner ball. They are from india and from what i was told is an elephant training bell. My wife has 1 complete, she collects elephant items.

My husband is a ham. A ham radio operator that is. He said on the Tweak radio, it would be worth the eBay price on 2 conditions, 1 does it work. 2 depends on the model number. I hope you see this Jack. Take cafe all!

The antenna rotator was from back when most homes had antenna on their roofs or on 20-40 ft pole towers. It was my job to turn the dial in the direction and number of clicks grandpa instructed to dial in the 3 to 4 channels on the airwaves most of us got in the 70's😂

While I have no idea of the condition of the books, I believe books are precious. I am saddened to hear you took books to the dump. How much time would it take to take them to a charity? Some of the books on homesteading and witchcraft are most likely valuable. Might you have been able to sell them at the better market?

Hi Jack, long time fan. I do know a bit about the Wicca books, enough to tell you that before you sell them, look up any that are over 20 years old. You will be surprised by the price.

That clock looks exactly like one I got near the Black Forest in Germany. Many of the same features are on mine, too. The clock maker I got mine from explained the elements on the clock represent the regions where the clocks originate. Don’t know if that’s 100%, but, thought I’d throw that out to you. Sure seems like it should be worth more than what you showed on screen. 🤷🏼‍♀️❣️

That one you thought was dinosaur poop-- take it to a lapidary shop, they have the equipment to cut it open and polish it. They may want to buy it from you, not a lot of money but better than plain rock money. Craft books will sell, especially the crochet ones, they are hard to find.

Those old postcards are actual photos that the developer would turn into postcards on the back if the family wanted to send the photo to someone that way.

That thing is basically an opaque projector for enlarging an image or photo to trace, draw or paint. I’d see if it works. When I was teaching high school I would have loved to have one at home.

The dremel like thing in with the drafting stuff was an electric eraser. You would put a long eraser, kinda looked like a glue stick, through it and it spins the eraser and cleans the paper better.

I do not know if someone mentioned in the comments but that rope with the Canon is not exactly rope that's fuse material and it looks like the perfect size for that hole in the Canon.

I think that green rope on the cannon was fuse. Cut a piece off and try to light it. Very cool piece though. Great locker so far! Nice.

If the pics are really bugging you, put the “best” and/or oldest into a couple of flat rate boxes and have the office send them back to the guy. Tell them you just can’t bring yourself to throw them away. I feel you here. I couldn’t pitch them all either. Especially the military ones and really old ones.

People DO buy old photos! FYI, years ago, when people had their photos developed, they would be printed as postcards. So all those photo postcards are personal photos, not business related. As for myself, I will buy old photos of anyone shown with a cat. 😸😸👵😽

The brooch is a King George VI (British King before Elizabeth II) coin brooch in a starburst frame (which makes it look a bit like a medal). Probably 1950s. Not a huge value - $15-20 as long as it isn't too beaten up.

That kid on a horse in the old photo album, I have a picture just like that of me when I was about six or so. Looks like the same horse lol It would have been about 1960.It was getting a little spooky because some of the pictures looked exactly like ones we had when I was little. I mean we still have them but were taken when we were little. I had to look closely to make sure they weren't us. lol And that brass bell thing you said probably had something inside like a bell clapper, we had one exactly like that but we had the brass thing it sat in also. We lived in Illinois though so it was just so strange. Like watching my life in a storage unit.

I still can't understand how the dump charges you to throw out stuff. Here in Florida we just go to the dump and dispose for free. It doesn't make any sense and totally not fair!

Yeah, imo if the dump were free then maybe we’d see less items dumped on the side of the road. But I think it’s part of an effort to keep stuff out of the landfills. Kind of a double edged sword.

@@BobbaDons haha yes it’s already getting taxed so there is no fee on the day of disposal. That’s what I meant. Homeowners pay but imagine you are a renter, then it’s actually totally free for you to dump. So it is possible to be free for some.

I understand what you mean about books, love stories are just drags at sales, I was just talking to someone that was trying to sale them. Mysteries are ok, westerns too, guys like that. These days the survival books are good, I wonder if the horror does ok. Unfortunately some of the older books don’t do well, except for westerns. Non fiction depends on the subject, I happen to like history. Bios, no. People like reading on the electronics, I prefer books. I know how they work! 😂. Even though it hurts to see books tossed, but what else would one do with them.
