@@jmentone modern top fox is probably an insurmountable hurdle for falcon but it's also that for yoshi so provided Cody/moky/mango lose to someone else it's doable
"All of this characters aerials have the same landing lag, both l-cancelled and not." Might have made the question more clear. It was a little confusing. Made it sound like l-cancelling would do nothing (maybe thats why the GNW guess). Cool video!
Yeah I play Samus and knew this but didn't get it because I didn't get the question lol. Great question, just poorly worded! It's 15 frames without L-cancel, 7 frames with, for the record 🤓
@@FrogFromNSThe "both l-cancelled and not" part isnt needed. All L-cancelling does is make the animation play faster, so any moves that have matching landing lag will by extension have matching l-cancelled landing lag. But maybe thats just another piece of melee trivia lol
18:38 Ganon's is a meteor. Edit: 18:58 That's not what a Sakurai angle is. It's a 0 degree angle at low knockback, scaling toward 45 degrees as knockback increases, unless the opponent is airborne in which case it launches straight up. The name comes from the low percent behavior of leaving the opponent on the ground, which in brawl any hit that leaves the opponent grounded gains bonus trip chance.
@@ultlifeform In all non-japanese media before gen 5, there was no distinction - all of the mythicals were called legendaries. So in a sense, you could choose to see mythicals as a subset of legendaries. The official info is a bit vague.
@@SirPage13 That's fair. But if we're counting Jigglypuff as a Fairy type (gen 6+), then it fits to also count them as mythical. It's more debatable though, less of an objective error than the 130 Thunder.
This channel is gonna blow up, at least I hope so. I love jeopardy youtube videos, and you got some solid music choices! Hope to see you make more of these!
Daily doubles have appeared on every slot previously on jeopardy, and the answering as a question this is just kinda much for guests I'd feel like a dick being like "no points for not answering as question"
For the mid tier madness question about every mid tier except the Link's having this attribute, my first thought went to what is technically a lack of an attribute as the Link's are the only mid tiers that can spawn items. Peach and G&W can as well but they're not mid tiers. Pretty tricky but neat question, would not have thought of the angled ftilts. For the moves that were similar and just had a difference of 4 frame start up and different angles, one being a Sakurai angle and the other being a meteor, I had a few possible thoughts. I was thinking aerial Falcon Kick and Wizkick although I don't actually know if wizkick meteors in Melee or if that was a later addition, I was also thinking possibly Marth and Roy's side b, Dancing Blade and Double Edge Dance as I know at least Marth has a meteor hit in there somewhere, no idea if Roy does too. But then you mentioned the moves having the same name which made me think it's either a special shared by clones or a generic move shared by clones so I thought of Link and Young Link dair since Young Link dair can meteor. I also have no idea at all if any of the moves I listed even have a Sakurai angle. Didn't at all guess Fox/Falco side b although to be pedantic, they don't share names. Fox Illusion and Falco Phantasm. That answer is actually way more evident to me when thinking of Ult where they massively slowed down the start up of Fox Illusion but not Falco Phantasm. Didn't even know there was a frame difference in Melee but then I barely ever play Fox, although I do main Falco.
To be fair, it is completely possible that Flat Zone itself has the open door texture reachable within the stage file, and it only doesn't contain the code that cycles between them. I do not know whether or not this is the reality, but I'm sure someone here outta know how to figure out
@snared_ yes, but if they didn't remove it from the file, only making it inaccessible, it's still TECHNICALLY part of the stage. As I said though, I don't even know if that part is true so 🤷♂️
@@obviouslyanonymous Since one is simply a texture and the other is an animated object that hides a specific target, I would imagine that functionality might be attached to an object which is only loaded in the flatzone target test and not even loaded into flatzone. BUT that's just my imagination, it could be that same object is loaded but in flatzone it sees that hidable target doesn't exist and therefore always displays the flat closed door. But those are just two possibilities, and the reality is probably something entirely different, but I've never opened the melee code before and I'm not planning on changing that today lol. Hopefully someone knowledgeable about the game engine might have a minute or two to take a look and let us know.
This is fun! That titular (thumbnail-tular?) Q about the same landing lag “regardless of whether l-canceled” is a lil misleading though since the l-canceled vs non of course have different frame data (isn’t it always a flat half the frames reduction, subject to rounding?)
Hey, just an idea: For people like me that don't know the contestants and can't follow the voices, it would help showing something like speech bubbles so I'd be able to associate who is talking with their game progress
15:50 i really thought it was skull bash for some reason. the some reason is that the entirety of jiggly is a skull but she can probably learn skull bash which i haven't seen since gen 1
@FrogFromNS in vgc (2v2) Hitmontop does way more than rapid spin. Hitmontop has intimidate, fake out, helping hand, wide guard, & quick guard. It used to be paired with kyogre.
@@FrogFromNS I mean I agree about calling all mythical Pokemon legendaries because that's what we called them growing up, but you can't use this justification and then have Fairy type in the Pokemon type question shaking my smh my head
I just don't think it's that huge of a deal so if the players want to they can and if they don't they don't have to :) I'm more into the trivia part and jeopardy is just a cool format
@FrogFromNS oh ok. I think my mind thinks that if it's trivia it's trivia, but jeopardy is the specific rules. I'm not trying to criticize the rules you're using, just I never saw this series before and wondered about this. It's kind of why jeopardy is so hard, imo
Ganon's down air is not a spike it is a meteor, you can meteor cancel Ganon's down air. And Falco's Side B goes very slightly shorter distance than Fox's SMH gotta get these things right if you're gonna talk like you know for certain
There was pretty much only one clue that you needed Pokémon knowledge to know (the types one), the rest were just very niche melee knowledge! Thats a fair criticism though, making categories for clues is tough, the pokemon category was a bit of a stretch but i thought it could work.
Pokemon didn't bring that distinction until gen V! Prior to that they were all referred to as legendaries. They were retroactively changed to mythicals after that.
