This is one of my favorite underdog tanks, and actually prefer it over the tier 9(Only when facing tier 10's) because of the following: 1.) Better turret traverse speed(You can make people fluff shots if they're aiming at your hatches easier) 2.) Punchier gun an workable penetration values. If you're going to use the 120mm, although you are more accurate, you can't overmatch... and you have to make yourself vulnerable longer to get the damage you need to 3rd MoE. With the 130mm, you can at least trade damage. 3.) More premium spam protection on the upper plate, where as the tier 9 can reliably get penned with premium. You know, if they don't pen through your turret first with APCR. The tier 9 might be my favorite tier 9 heavy... Other than the Conqueror, of course. The Conqueror line just seems so over-populated with people though.

This tank is NOT bad, wargaming is bad at their decisions. The highlight of this tank is the armor and it doesn't work because premium ammo is available to everyone. The maus is not bad, the E-100 is not bad, they have their pros and cons, it's just a shame that their pros nowadays get defeated if you press 2. The game is broken because one of it's main points (arguably the most interesting) that is the armor penetration mechanic, was made useless and can be bypassed by the players at any point during a match, vehicles like this one that would be incredibly competitive without the overpowered gold penetration are made completely useless. WoT is the definition of "pay to win", either you agree with it or not, it's pure fact.

The amount of gold flying is ridiculous

I mean Foch loves this tank, he has 500+ damage in it on QB with no prem rounds or food so... to each his own. Someone appreciates that 560 > 400, somebody prefers pew pew guns (which QB has long history of liking - Comet, Patriot, etc.).

Considering these french heavies were meant to be in the game much earlier during 2012/2013 where if they were in their original state they would have been pretty good but it has taken them till the end of 2017 to add them and by then they just aren’t competitive against other heavies apart from the tier 9

WG should just make AMX M4 54's armor amazing at least frontaly... it's side armor is awful... and it's frontal armor is still weak in a tier 10 matchup

I'd pick the M4 51 over S. Conq anytime, especially after I face hugged one that couldn't do anything against me, he was spamming gold on my hull, on my turret and not a single shot penetrated, also those french heavies are more mobile and 5KM/h faster in straight line, nice brawler tanks.

QB, Obj 430 is same, one gun, the best gun. That's what I found after playing other Tier 9 medium tanks. I have to start with stock gun with M46, E50, T-54 and WZ-120, which was painful experience and win rate for them sucks. So when I started LP TA and Cen 7/1, I used free exp to get to their top gun before playing the first game. I got over 65% win rate for both of them.

your personal preferences have nothing to do necessarily with what a tier X vehicle is capable of or not, it's nothing exceptional it's true, but it's not as bad as you make us believe in your video

Every vehicle isn't worth it amx elc is the only thing worth it.

I feel the Tier-9 AMX has the same problem as the IS-4 when it was tier-9, but functioned more like a tier-9.5 tank. It was better than the IS-7 in a lot of situations.

280 AP pen is pretty decent though, thats not the same as 280 APCR or HEAT pen. good for the angled lower plate and angled side armor shots

This is the same case for the tier 9 and 10 Chinese tank destroyer. The tier 9 seems to be a lot better then the tier 10 sadly, because I love playing them.

*Personal Opinion* Hello Quickybaby/William! Before all things i want to state i do not mean this opinion to be offensive against you or anyone else, just as a critique or a voice of reason for say. I've been playing this game since 2011, having followed you first on youtube, later on twitch. I've been a fan of your content in the old days of the game, but as the game got more and more "personal statistic, and personal achievement" oriented i started to notice the signs of self entitlement, and ego to grow over you (and amongst many of the better players). This goes mainly towards the higher ranks of wot players who are the minority of this game, such as myself. As i experienced the forementioned, i started feeling drifting away from the person who you are, and what people should love to watch, and look up to. Ingame behaviours such as you showed with the T30 were not reasonable. I would go far as to say unexpectable. This kind of behaviour just creates more and more toxicity in the game, which is already filled with plenty of it. This is why better players are "labeled" for being arseholes, or selfish douchebags. And someone trying to whitewash, or justify such a behaviour as you did with that person, is unacceptable. The replay showed it clearly, you did not push him out so desperatly becouse he wasn't very effective. You did it becouse you have nothing else floating in front of you, just to achieve higher and higher score, boosting your ego, and to make you feel better about yourself. Of course this should be called "having fun", or "enjoying the game", but what you and most people forget, is that this is a team based game... you play this with 14 other people alongside you. It is not just you... but other people. And just to make this clear, and to show why i'm saying what i'm saying, is becouse at some point even I - yes, even me - was behaving the same way, and was thinking the same exact way as you did. Though i have learned, and managed to change myself to become a better person. But what i don't have and you do is exposure. People see you do this, and what are they thinking? Probably the same as i do... if not they are most probably the most supportive, closest fan of yours who's opinion will not be any different after reading my comment. So it doesn't matter as I'm clearly not aiming this reading towards them. This involves the many people who are playing the game, or just starting to get into it, and are coming across people like you - a community contributor, a youtuber - in the game or who are acting the exact way as you. So please take this into consideration, and please try to better yourself.. don't just say "yes i may have acted in an unmannered way" and try sugercoat it, but for once please admit that what you do, and how you react is not the right way to do it. I've been watching you very long, and even though i am banned on your twitch channels comment section (for trying to voice my opinion on a similar moment which i couldn't ignore), i still hop in time to time to watch your stream and see how your games are going. The next time when you encounter a player like that T30, just ask yourself "what would i do if that guy/gal was Jingles, or IK, or someone you have close to you" would you act the same way to them as you did to that guy? The Amx m4 51 is just a m103 on steroids

As a blitz player, it’s weird to hear u talking shit about this tank. I’m blitz, they always have an expensive af Christmas event, and this year this was it. It’s broken in blitz, and you would end up spending $500 just to get it

I think that both guns on the AMX M4 51 are food you just need to use the tank differently. The 120 does give much better all around statistics but I do think that the 128 is better for just being a heavy hitting brawler. The 128 IMO is better if you are not quite as good at the game. Yes the pen is lower but the extra alpha damage gives the tank a presence that the 120 does not.

This tank is a good example why in some lines its better to stop at Tier 9.

Imo the M4 51 is really good like other tanks at tier 9, like Skoda t50, T-10, Standard B, are those OP? Not really, are they really good, sure.

Im sorry QB but you dont know what are you talking about. M4 54 is just straight up improvement over M4 51. Armour is better, DPM gets better, accuracy gets better Super Conq has WORSE weakpoint on the top of the turret than this one has. Super Conq is slower. Upper and lower plates of Super Conq are worse. M4 54 has its own niche and is very rewarding if you use it correctly.

I still don't understand why the T9 variant is supposedly so good when T10 is supposedly so bad. I totally hated both tanks. Frontal armor is OK, but by now most players just load gold and so completely negate it. Side armor abysmal, and a huge target on top of that. So good luck when you get flanked. I'd only pick this one over T110E5 among Tier X heavies with a similar play style.

I love my T9 amx 51, it's not OP though. The side armor is very poor and even arty splash will punish you hard. That being said I think the only thing the bigger guns on both tanks need is higher pen, you can't underestimate overmatch ability and alpha especially on something this mobile.

Well, for a tank that only has frontal armor, it should have a good front armor profile. Also, if the tier 10 is a weaker Super Conq.... can you still say it's not underpowered? Or is the Conq. A little over tuned? I haven't even went down that line, however, much like the T110E5, where it's front armor is all it has, then it was taken away... Now it's kind of a crapper... I would hate to see another line lose the only armor it has. That's my opinion. Maybe the tier 9 is a little overturned, but at least it's not a premium/reward tank... And it's not so broken like other tanks... I hope it doesn't get a Nerf.

Amx M4 54 is worth it..if you can aim, know how to use the armour of the tank...and ARE NOT A STEVE THAT CAN ONLY PLAY RUSSIAN TANKS.

Being a super uni who owns one of these tanks, I’ll come to it’s defense. This tanks isn’t shit. It’s armor is actually pretty solid, the 120mm is a good gun, and the 130mm hits pretty freakin hard while still retaining decent gun stats. Plus the tank is relatively quick. However... this tank does have terrible gold rounds for the 130, rather large cupolas, and bad HE rounds. (The HE will still do about 150-200 damage despite not penetrating. But 640 alpha is terrible for a 130mm gun that has AP rounds that hit for 560. There’s no reason this tank shouldn’t be firing HE shells that hit for anything less than 700. Infact, since this tank does have a low velocity 130mm, this couldve been a tank that housed premo HE shells that hit for 750 with 100ish pen.) but other than that, the tanks is pretty damn solid.

After this video the WG opinion will be like: "don't buff the tier X, just let's nerf the tier IX"

This is one of the few times I disagree with quicky this tank is not as bad as he makes it out to be and the 130 is the better gun to use on it I have it and to be honest I haven't found anything to complain about I have 63% win date in it after 70 games yes the armor isn't the best but the gun and the mobilty make up for it not to mention the gun depression so sorry quicky and the Alpha is decent between 490-550 a shot

A lot of hidden gems lurking in the tech tree. The Charioteer with the B barrel 20 pounder when coupled with a BiA crew, food, vents and a rammer is such a relentless killing machine. The T-25/2 in the American line, and of course the Leopard PTA being overshadowed by the Leopard 1 is another. Also across the board the tier 9 vehicles are usually great tanks that I prefer over their tier 10 big brothers. The Conway, Skoda T-50, and the T-30 spring to mind. Not universally of course as some lines do end better than the were preceded, like the Grille 15 line.

Can you rate all tier 9 tanks as it is the most balanced tier (in my opinion) and also my fav one? Also it is a good way to tell whether to go for tier 10 or not! I have no clue why everyone are talking about either tier 8 or tier 10 tanks but they always leave tier 9 out 😢! (Maybe because highest tier premium tank is 8 and 10 because it is the end of the tech tree but still almost noone notices tier 9). Also why you can put decals and some camos only to tier 8 and 10. And there is nothing for tier 9, no tournaments, no all tier 9 gamemode ( tier 8 for frontline and tier 10 for ranked battles) Clear sign WG leaving tier 9's out yet again, WHY?

If that tank was unchanged in the russian tech tree, everyone would be complaining, and if it was in the german tech tree, theyd call it bad

No,, it is worth it. Yes side armor is a bit trash but that frontal armor is just good how it is. And yes if everyone shoots gold at you, armor becomes paper in gamer and irrelevant just like on mouse when everyone spams gold at you.. This tank is just dope, I love it Edit : If they would have put the same lower plate on thier 10 then it would have been really op...ye lower plate on t10 is a bit weaker cuz it's in a different angle which it makes it a bit more easy to pen unlikely on tier 9 but I kinda like both, in good hands they can destroy the enemy team like it's nothing, but I must say wg does some weird things with this balancing thing.... Just like. E 50 and 50m...same tanks but 50m.has just better pen

I tend to view tier 9s and tier 10s as alternate variations of the same tank rather than one necessarily always being progressivly better. It's just a question of playstyle or taste sometimes.
