Although I quite liked the tribute to 844, this orange model is the one I would most likely purchase. I do wish the magnifier was flat across the top/bottom to better match the angular bezel, but even that doesn't stand out as much in bright orange. That is really my only niggle with the design.
I ignored warnings that TAG Heuer's have poor time keeping, but the critics were right. I own a blue Aquaracer with the Calibre 5 movement and it easily loses 8-9 seconds _per day!_ The new colours look very good though, but I own an Omega Seamaster now, the green one.
I have had a Tag for years. My wife got me a COSC certified Autavia 3 years ago. For the first 2 years, 0 to +4. Now It’s loosing a very consistent 7 seconds a day. I love the watch but it hasn’t had enough wrist time for that.
I have just bought this watch new - with a black dial, 2 weeks ago. Unfortunetly there was a metal shard/filing moving about my dial - that's right, a metal fragment rolling around my dial!! Also the watch arrived without the protective film on the bracelet, which again made me feel the watch appeared warn. When I raised this issue with the seller, and I was told the watch had been 'handled' - whatever that means - not new, or new?. My mistake was allowing a major Jewellery chain in the UK chose a watch for me. Having had the watch replaced - the second watch had a lopsided cyclops magnifier over the date window. I've been in touch with Tag Heuer who's response has been disappointing to say the least. I will let you know what happens.....the economy in the UK is going into a recession, so be carful buying watches from large chains, as new no longer means new.
Did you get this sorted? I am interested in buying this exact Tag in orange but question the brands build quality. I own a Rolex Sea Dweller and a Breitling Sea Avenger 2. Between these 2 watches... the build quality on the Breitling's movement is an enormous let-down. So much so, I would never buy another one. I would sell it but it's one of my favourite looking watches. I would not spend that kind of money again on a poor quality watch.
and to be predictable, TAG releases it in only one size. At least Breitling went on to have 3 sizes with nearly every dial available. As a bright spot tho, at least they are coming down from the "Big Ben" years, where the goal was to be able to see the watch from the international space station.
''Eye catching'' & a '' popping orange beast'' certainly, but with a price tag of £2,700 pounds sterling, there is only far better quality & value with so many other brands out there.....
I bought this watch with the silver dial. Hands down the worst dive watch I’ve ever worn underwater. Bezel cannot be operated with gloves on underwater and the glare is insane. This is a true desk diver.
@Mrs. Riki no you don’t adjust during the dive but you certainly don’t on the boat prior to gearing up either. Once I’m suited and in the water I set my time before diving. Once geared up this bezel is impossible to move and there is no true dive extension which is annoying as well.
The watch world is all about authenticity and tradition. So I'll skip brands like Tag Heuer who claim to be Swiss brands but make some of their watches in China. There are enough brands who make all of their products in Switzerland to choose from, no need to give brands like this a chance. I don't care that this specific watch is Swiss made, that's not enough.
@@Davidzc0 Don't lie please. Just a few weeks ago I was in a Tag Heuer boutique with one of their watches in my hand, and it even clearly says: "Made in China" on the case. You can't get away with made-up lies here.
@@pistonburner6448 I mean this is a channel discussing mechanical watches. The connected is more of a smart device than anything else. The other Swiss brands don't make anything in China because they have no smart watches... it's just a poor perception to dismiss a mechanical Swiss watch because they make another product line elsewhere
