This pond was created in the 1940s after a mining stint on Mount Sicker reopened the Twin J Mines. The pond has been mostly empty since the early 2000s and completely emptied a few years ago after a forest fire line was cut through the remaining damn emptying it. Recent PH testing has shown no acid mine drainage at the outflow. The pond is now clay which contains values in copper, silver, gold and especially zinc. This is due to poor recovery rates in the 1940's.
