In today's episode, Darren visits the Pearse Lyons Distillery, which has the distinction of having more dead bodies per square yard than all other Dublin distilleries combined!
The whiskey he's tasting? Pearse Genesis, the distillery's multi-award winning inaugural release. Stay tuned and find out if Pearse Genesis does in fact taste like whiskey.

I think it’s definitely the most unique of the Dublin Distilleries. When you visit you learn as much about the people in the graveyard as you do about whiskey. It’s awesome.

Darren, I visited the Distillery in March of this year. The sampling (flight) was good but clearly the Genesis was the best tasting product. I couldn't afford the 200 euro tag so I left it. I did buy a nice hoodie from the shop. Good to see you again. I remember meeting you at the #### whiskey shop a few years ago. Keep up the quality videos.

Micro distilleries have also been popping up in Canada, thanks mostly to a loosening of post-prohibition laws. Canadian oak is seldom used for barrels. The climate is not very conducive for oak and the oak that does grow here is too dense to impart much flavour. Some distillers use maple barrels to "finish" their whisky. It creates a sweeter tasting whisky.
