Thank you for sharing the video. I learned a lot. I'm an amateur DYI, and I have a room that is awfully hot. So, I plan to do something like this. Hey, is there a cheaper or more affordable type of that kestrel ballistics weather meter? Does it also read CFM (or Cubic Feet a Minute, I guess)? I saw something at bottom, but I didn't recognize it. I saw MPH and Temp. What is the next thing on bottom? Thanks for sharing what you know. This is so awesome. I can't believe that it is possible for an amateur like me to do something like this.
Installation installation was very well done, but many loose ends in the wiring instruction. how power is connected to the fan feed. Also the thermostat wiring instructions are ignored all together. I did get some good ideas for the installation but will have to look elsewhere for instructions for adding into thermostat circuit.
What exactly is the "automatic switch" called? I am searching for it at Menards. I already have a duct fan and just want a way to connect to AC and Furnace Blower.
Just strip the wires back and toss em inside the hvac unit. If it doesnt work than hire an electrician.. or throw some water on it all with the hose, sometimes the contacts get dirty inside your ac unit..
Hello, I have designed a more intelligent new technology air duct fan. The phone can operate the fan function throughout the whole process. I want you to review it and take a short, 1-minute video for me. The product is free For you, you can contact me directly if you need it.
They actually sell a 110/240vac switch that has a piece of film that sits inside the duct thats about and inch tall which is a normally open switch so it turns on when it blows the film and stops when no air movent.. is a momentary switch.. amazon sells em for a few bucks.. and their ul approved..
Hi, its been a while since I made that video and I don't remember where I gi that switch. Probably just picked it up at one of the big box stores. Probably something like this: Leviton 6616-1XI 5 Amp, 120 Volt Ac 60Hz, Single-Pole, Trimatron Full Range, Rotary Fan Speed Control, Ivory a.co/d/2GODUkR
Hey Brian, I picked up the relay from Amazon. It's called a "relay in a box" (link in the description). It's still working today, but did have to make a minor change to the wiring connecting the relay to the furnace. The way I wired it in the video caused the heat to turn on when the air con was turned on.
It’s not powerful enough...they make more powerful vortex units that will quickly circulate air into a 50’ duct run...they do cost a few hundred dollars each...but worth it
You can do the same with a Steveco relay at any ac supply house and save the bucks.chase as you probably have done .done many in my 40 years of service work.
My furnace is in the basement and my room upstairs is always cold in winter because its the farthest in the house. İ wonder if duct fan would help my room or not.
