This Thing is TERRIFYING | MAX PLAYS: Resident Evil 4 Remake - Part 3 

The actor who plays leon came a long way, from life is strange season 1 to this. He was good as frank in that game, but when they brought him in to play the role of leon with RE2R and now RE4, he put himself on the map even more now.

I just noticed that Ashley stares at Leon and when he turns around she always looks away like she got caught staring

When Max missed the shot at around 26:12 on one of the blue medallions, you can see Leon shaking his head. That’s some detail!

I didn't notice the smug face Ashley makes at 32:31 in my play through. Oh Lord, it's perfect.

2:19:09 The way she cares about not wanting to hurt Leon even after she’s seen what he’s capable off and Leon comforting her by being the reassuring badass he is, letting her know they WILL beat the Plaga is one of the most adorable and warming things I’ve seen in modern story based games recently. This game seriously made me not hate her, her voice actress makes a big difference making her not seem like an absolute whiny airhead like RE4 Ashley and the amazing facial expressions this Engine has also help make the scene even better.

One thing I love about the remake is how they made knife/melee combat actually fun. The knife is so damn satisfying to use outside of just parrying.

I love that they changed the reason for why you separate from Ashley the first time. In the original game, she coughs up some blood, freaks out, runs away, and ends up in a ludicrous series of traps; it made her look kind of like an idiot. But here, Saddler mind-controls her, uses her to attack Leon, and then proceeds to point the knife at herself; when Ashley recovers, OF COURSE she'd freak out and run away after that. Losing complete control of your body by a malignant force, and being forced to both harm someone you're growing fond of and yourself... it makes total sense that she'd have a little nervous breakdown.

"This is gonna be br..." *decapitated* Timing was absolute perfection.

2:11:15 Gotta love that all he would have to do is turn the cannon to the left and be able to take out not only the gate, but also the cultists guarding it for free. Instead he uses 3 rifle bullets, 24 SMG bullets, and about a third of his knife durability to kill them all and still has to go back to blow up the gate.

26:10 Did Leon shake his head no when he missed the medallion?? That's such a cool detail.

Rem4ke is probably my favorite remake so far, character design goes hard, and its improvements far outweigh the few minor complaints I could possibly have. If I can feel the amount of work and passion the devs put into this, that *everyone involved* put into this in the *first hour*, I knew that this was going to blow my already high expectations out of the water. And it did. The devs did extremely good giving this game what it may not have particularly needed (imo), but gave us what we definitely wanted out of it and more if we ever got it. Amazing job :) Oh, and Max is pretty funny, too. Glad you're loving the game so far! ❤

I love that Max is so good at video games while also maintaining a strict policy of barely reading things on screen and the subsequent terrible decisions that come with.

Ashley is really nice in this game. She’s so much more likeable and she’s quite endearing with some of the things she says. Much better improvement over the original, and they still kept her ballistics lol

Salazar dressed like Napoleon, but now he looks like Margaret Thatcher. Amazing.

After all these years, the Water Room still takes the cake as one of the most intimidating and stressful videogame encounters of all time, and they somehow made it even more difficult!

Best part is when Max realizes that he could’ve dropped the chandelier & regrets everything. 😂

I always use the rocket launcher on Salazar, even back in OG. To this day I have no idea about any of the mechanics of that boss.

Little side note: Did you know they put a first encounter village skip in? You can shoot the church bell and it completely skips the encounter.

I love the look on his face when he opens the door to the black goo party room. The dawning horror, the widening eyes, and the innate 'NOPE' the moment holds before he states that he needs to take a break. This is a man who knows what sort of shit to expect from this horror.

Giving the knife durability is a good way to balance it.

I've been looking forward to every one of these RE4 uploads. So entertaining to see you play as I play and it's only heightened by the fact that I'm loving the game so very much!

The Blacktail is my favorite pistol in the game. Fastest fire rate and fastest reload speed. It's such a fun gun to use.

I like remake Ashley so, so much. Didn't notice it until I was halfway through the goddamn hedge maze, but Ashley's model actually changes after you reunite with her. You can see the black veins on her wrists from the infection.

After watching people play with a pistol that isn't the Punisher I am so glad I went with it as my pistol. Being able to pierce shields with that thing is a godsend.

I love how he's really trying to use the revolver, but it's almost always better and more comfortable to use the starting pistol

Max saying that Zelda Tears of the Kingdom will be harshly judged if it is too similar, but saying at the same time that dead space and re4 is game of the year for him is ironic and actually very funny.

going back to watch this again, I love that you can see the Vietnam flashbacks hit Max as soon as he opens the door to the Water Room. The fear in his eyes is is unmistakable.

YES! Thank you, Max! Solidarity on wanting RE1 given the REmake treatment! Everytime I bring it up, people are always like "Oh they already did it, though." No. They didn't. They gave it a new graphics engine and control scheme and that was it. The gameplay is pretty much the same as OG RE1.

It's so backwards that the remake establishes that the parasites can't deal with light from blue flame but they changed the merchant's torch's from blue to purple. That would've been such a good explanation for the torch color.

I love all the different spanish accents used. I fully expect Saddler to have a Madrid accent. Even the Big Cheese having a Yiddish accent was completely on point and awesome

As someone who never played the og 4 i loved the Water room part in the castle i loved also the music so eerie like.

I think something not immediately apparent to some is with the gems the bonus might be higher but you get less overall. Like if you slot three of the same gem you will vs three different gems the bonus will be lesser but it will sell for higher I think (sell price listed next to the bonus).

This game is so dam fun to play and watch. I think I'm a couple more hours ahead of max and coming back and watching it really helps me appreciate all the animations, sound+area design and the amazing VO work. Glad to see your enjoying RE4R just as much as I am Max, shine on dood🤙
