Crowned by the medieval castle, the Village of Belmonte stands out for the beauty of its landscapes and monuments, for the richness of its history and resources, for its fabulous strategic position, which made it dominate, since time immemorial, territories and means of communication.
The oldest remains date back to the Neolithic where the Antar of Caria stands out. The village of Chandeirinha and S. Geraldo, these are places that mark human presence during the Bronze Age/Iron Age.
