I have this permanently mounted in the back of my Jeep - it’s a great system. I can’t wait for the drawer version for easier access. I have one setup for 4wheeling and another for biking - no complaints yet!

Welcome to the club! I picked up a Packout Compact Tool Box for a bike box a few years back. After years of hard use, it still looks new, functions perfectly. I ended up doing a very similar build for the back of my van/truck to swap all my tools back and forth. Milwaukee has really impressed me.

I’m a yard dog and just bought the rolling pack out about a week ago and bought the mid size 75lb today. Love it

I also use the Milwaukee Packout system to keep my riding gear in in my truck. I use the big one for my shoes, helmut, knee pads, and gloves. I also have the smaller toolbox to keep my on the go tools in. I absolutely love them.

I glued plexi glass to the foam and it makes for a solid foundation.

Sticker hack, turn your stickers into magnets using magnet sheets. Even works for old stickers if you can peel them off.

I have a ProMaster Van set up very similar to yours. I use a Pedro's Burrito Tool Roll for my bike tools in my van. It carries every common bike related tool I need and it doesn't rattle or roll around at all. Much quicker access for your tools too.

Hi, great video. I love Milwaukee tools and the Packout system too. By the way they just launched a Packout with pull out drawers (a 2 and 3 drawer option available). I really like the M12 and M18 impact and drills. Cool bike repair stand too! Stay safe and healthy!

TIM from Canada suggestions for everyone looking for Milwaukee PAC out… you can get the same thing on eBay.. and if you look you can find them a lot cheaper than the stores.. eBay is good look through and you can find the price you were looking for for example. The boxes he is showing you now on this video.. there will be three or four different prices for this box somewhere really high some are a great price you can pretty much find all Milwaukee pack out boxes on eBay if you were looking… because I can tell you right now Home Depot Canada does not sell half of what they are telling you in the store… (eBay) is a great place to buy your Milwaukee pack )out if you are looking

I don't own many Milwaukee tools, but the Packout is so well built and versatile... I invested in one set for main stuff and use cheaper boxes/systems for secondary stuff. The little organizer tubs have holes on the back to hang off screws too. Really well thought out.

You could not have made a better choice. I own two full stacks as well as additional boxes for my truck and RV.

I just went through my cheap plastic bins o' bike tools and parts. Seeing a solid system with the foam inserts is about 100 times better than what I'm doing. And really, if it lasts, the cost for the system isn't that bad. Thanks!

route out a shallow shaped section for the base plate on the drawer slide, enough to let the boxes clear the top 🙂

Love the pack out system. I honestly never considered it for my bike stuff though. Good idea.

If you stil have the tool box you can use some ptfe (teflon) to gently remove stickers. You can buy sheets bars and rods of it on Amazon. I used a chissel i made out of 1/8 in sheet to remove a shipping lable from a cardboard box without even any of the brown box fibers sticking to the label. Worth a try to save the sticker

I got the RIGID versions of this stuff. Priced a lot better and the one thing I really like is the open top crate that they sell with it too. Either way, nice stuff and great solid storage solutions.

I live full time in my van and the tool solution I'm most happy with is my Harbor Freight tool kit that packs into a flat case that can side into small spots with minimal footprint. My bike specific tools are on a separate plastic bin that stacks with my bike parts bin and my bike cleaning bin. The real menace is my home improvement tub where I keep my woodworking stuff and power tools for building new interior stuff

If you peel the sticker off you can make it into a magnet. You can buy magnet sheets with adhesive backing on Amazon

I'm a Milwaukee fan. I think they build good quality stuff. I don't think you be disappointed. That said, let us know next year how they held up. My drills are 4 years old and still awesome.

I tried one of these boxes for my bike stuff, but I mostly wanted something to hold fluids (tire sealant, degreaser etc.) vertically and no toolbox I could really find was tall enough. These boxes are really big but the volume isn't as much because of the locking system etc. I ended up finding some Plano ammo boxes that work pretty well. One box has fluids and other items that go along with fluids like syringes etc. and the other box has tools and other spare parts. They were like $15 each.

The thing with the new tool box vs the old one , is that now to get the tool box open, you need to slide the whole thing out of the van so you can open the toolbox. Not the best move for me.

I have an organizer attached to my tail gate used for small accessories and fasteners, I work off my tailgate ladders and materials in and out sheet metal fab off the gate etc. been in place about a year zero damage so far.

"Get it, got it, over it..." Man, I can sure relate to that! But, "Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten." Nothing like buying "good enough", only to end up buying the quality item later anyway. Makes the cost even worse! My motto is, do your research, figure out what is the best solution, then shop for price. If you can get a good price on the best solution, that's just icing on the cake. Frequently, that comes with being patient... Which is a virtue for my final cliché 😁

Looks amazing! Some of that foam would look really nice for those tools you velcroed out of the toolbox.

Attention to the guy making the video.TIM from Canada… ... suggestions for you your foam inserts instead of making new ones… take your X-Acto knife and just cut around your tools cut out the ones you need and hot glue them onto a new piece of foam because you have already cut out the shapes now just glue them to a new foam piece.. with your X-Acto knife just cut out the ones you don’t want put them in another toolbox take the ones that you do need hot glue them onto a new board and you’re good to go..

We just did a post about the pack out on Instagram. It is so cool!!! It is an expensive investment but we are so happy with it. We have it in our Jeep and it holds all our cycling and car tools!

I have the Dewalt version of this type of system. I went with Dewalt because we had them at work and they were outstanding, they were less expensive than the Milwaukee, and they had ones with drawers

Hey man, I don't think in the end you will regret buying into Milwaukee's system. I bought into the RIDGID system last year and have since expanded it as my needs change. I think now that you're somewhat vested so-to-speak, you can grow the system as your needs change. The upcoming drawers are something I "REALLY" wish the RIDGID stacking system had. Cheers.

@BKXC they have cleats you can buy separately and can place on your case for go pros so you can clip it onto the Milwaukees as well

Too funny. I've used a boxee Craftstman in my van for a couple of years. Makes a great step stool to get into my bed.

Yeah, IME as a general contractor, the packout boxes are worth the premium price. You can find deals at HD every once in a while. The new packout drawers are pretty great.

I've hung on to a "Fear The Mullet" sticker about the same amount of time and finally put it on my RTIC water bottle a couple months back. That's a hard thing that most will never understand : )

You can lower the baseplate height with a custom by almost 2/3. 10 mm is enough and you also can go much smaller in foot print of the base.

There are lots of 3rd party “plates” out there can buy and work great. Also, can cut the mounting plate you have and make it a bit “lower profile” if wanna do that Cheers

That Wolverine sticker is AWESOME!! Great suggestion for a tool box! Wonder if getting a kit makes you just wanna convert to Milwuakee tools as well. I mean that color is so sweet. But I'm fully content with my Makita power tools. Afraid they will feel betrayed... Btw, LOVE that Pedros cassette "vice" tool. Never regretted pushing that buy button on that one!

Clicked on this video because I saw Milwaukee. I am one of those crazy Milwaukee fanboys you talked about haha. I Always enjoy watching review videos on more packouts and how others organize their tools. Don't know how the heck in the world your retailer had several in stock, they are almost completely gone off the shelf when they become available at my Home Depot. Also, I too have that craftsmen tool chest, although I use it as a stationary set up at my parents house since I do not have a garage of my own, it's a great little tool chest. Also, if you are ever in the market for cordless power tools, Milwaukee is where it's at ;) Great video!

I am considering something like this . I'm an RV tech and I can be 4 hours away from the shop (one way). The thing is I need ALOT of tools and parts on hand. You also need to be ready to get a call at 3pm and be ready with everything you need on hand without going back to the shop.

oh and i guess im a little late but you could rout the table down and recess the packout plate if you really want a little extra room between it and the bottom of the storage box hanging above as show in your vid. maybe even get away with cutting the carpeting out from under and see if a few millimeters does the trick.

Would love a follow up on your experience with the system. I'm about to replace my 5 different tool bags/boxes with a full packout setup.
