I bought a Branson about 2 years ago. One big selling point was... almost no electronics. I avoided the DEF system by selecting a 25 hp engine in a frame that they put in 25 hp to 40 hp. Local dealer now has TYM and Mahindra... and remaining Branson stock. I've not been gentle with the tractor and it's doing well. 550 hrs. Out-lifts my neighbor's 35 HP New Holland of same frame size. (as close as you can get) If his can't lift it with his loader, most times mine can. I've actully lifted the 2000 lb rated max for the loader. (and a bit more) Branson actually goes back 30 years...
You can "fine tune" your hydraulics, by adjusting your pressure relief! Do this at your own risk as you may exceed your tractors safe capacities, and extra precaution should be taken! On my Woods backhoe I've adjusted the relief all the way, and have broken a lot of pieces on the unit. I'm a good welder and have gusseted all the weak points because I like the extra digging power!!
I bought a badboy 4025 last year. Equivalent to a 2515r branson, I believe. I heard about this about two months ago and have been wondering how this would play out. Badboy had a contract with branson, now aka TYM. I got the tractor knowing it was basically a brason, which is a good machine. So i had no worries and a dealer nearby, as long as they continue that particular frame and engine size into tym, I'm good, I hope. Thing has been a workhorse using loader for sawmill.
The lift capacity of the hydraulic system of any tractor I’ve ever owned. I’ve turned up the hydraulic pressure then fill with tires with ballast and be safe when you’re doing so
I'm amazed that the American manufacturing industry can't get into this huge market. We all complain about availability and foreign sub-par quality, why do we continue to allow foreigners to just take our market and dollars instead of investing in American-made pride and products?
@@misterb1080 Deere runs Yanmar engines in their small tractors all the way up to at least 65hp. My philosophy is why buy a rebranded tractor painted green for more money when you can buy one made from the original manufacturer for less.
I guess i am just very old school and patriotic ,I very much wish to by american as much asI can. we have to get back to making our own stuff here and figure out how to do it as economicaly as possible . I stillbelieve in american enginuity and american pride.
This is a good thing for Branson owners because you get a larger dealer network for service. The 2515 still has the highest rated lifting capacity in its class blowing away green and orange tractors of the same HP.
I just bought a Branson/TYM 5835. Here was what sold me on it, even in this moment of limbo. The engine is a Cummins A2300 turbo with a Kukje badge on it. Kukje was a contracted OEM for Cummins, and this particular engine was designed by Cummins and even improved by Kukje. Their improvement I believe was going from sleeved to parent bore cylinders. That means, any engine component will be still be readily available, and probably cheaper from Cummins. As for the rest of the tractor, it has external rear lift cylinders that can be removed and serviced by pulling 2 pins. No need to open the case. Mechanical fuel injection-think 12 valve Cummins. DPF is supplemental and is controlled by a module that is not connected to the engine. You could straight pipe it, unplug the module and the tractor wouldn’t know the difference. This thing is quiet and smooth-nothing like the Mahindra I test drove. The number one reason I went with it was the dealer. He was the only one who would communicate, send quotes, text me back and forth etc. I told him when I bought it that he wasn’t allowed to go out of business for at least 6 years or 3,000 hours.
Nice coverage. I had wondered if a lot of manufacturers would pull out of the show, But in my experience, even the smaller shows I’ve been to in the last six months are still packed out
I own a Branson 3520h and is a great tractor. I verified with dealer that if I were to trade my branson for a tym that my backhoe (bh200) will still work with the TYM. This was one of many reasons I bought a branson because the backhoe runs all along the frame and pins together on the front frame of the tractor giving a very strong connection and the fact that Branson lifts more, no electronics, cast iron heavy duty parts instead of aluminum parts.
Fix it Dad YES the FRAME strength. I ran CASE backhoe all my Life, the Backhoe I bought for a Resonation and my personal home tool was a DYNAHOE-190, why you ask, if I ran CASE 580 models from (CK) to last one, that I was part of purchase with the utility I worked for a 580-K. Because like you pointed out the Backhoe end on Dynahoe being part of Mainframe. The standard Dynahoe-190 will dig down (19) feet. A Case (580) needs a extendahoe to do that deep. The Dynahoe quit production in the Mid 1980s when BUCYRUS-ERIE STOPPED making construction type of heavy equipment, just stuck with BIG mining. Now CAT owns (B.E.) have owned my Dynahoe sense 2003. Have put 100s of hours on her, other than Hydraulic cylinder Leaking no issues. The (353 Detroit Diesel) keeps purring along. When I bought her, the brakes were (OS) one rear stabilizer cylinder would Not lift. The two front Bucket Lift cylinders Leaked like a open artery. So my wife wrote up SALES contract around those repair costs, the Backhoe with everything wrong had 0 value to just sell. The COST to repair was more than the cost for us buying. The previous Owner was desperate to sell her. He was Not to happy when we told him (showed him repair Records) but he had signed on to my wife's great sale contract. Like I said there have been more seals that started Leaking. The dipping cylinder was a boom truck job to get OFF. Anyway my Dynahoe has been discontinued for many years, all I'm saying is subcompact Tractor owners should NOT worry about brands being taken OVER, just like video guy said. Look at Case and (N.H.) It is NOW part of (FPT) because they make the ENGINE for those construction brand tractors.
@@rp1645 All of the Dynahoe machines were built well. It is amazing how robust the machines were built 40 and 50 years ago. The Dynahoe 160s, 190, 190-4, 290, and 390s are the strongest machines around. RU-vid has a few videos featuring the beasts. I recall that one has a guy dragging a shipping container around farm with a 190 in the winter!
@Alex ford…I also own a bad boy 4035….the only issue I’ve found that I don’t like is where the oil dip stick is located…cut my hand up pretty bad on the plastic fuel container. Other than that it’s been a work horse for me. Tillered a big garden on ground that’s never been worked before…uses less fuel. And zero def added.
The Kukje engine is the #1 reason I bought my TYM 574 over a rebranded name like RK or other brands with common rail fuel systems. It's a basic diesel engine with mechanical fuel injection just like the old NTC Cummins, no ecu and super reliable. If Kukje built the Branson line with these engines then I'd say it's a hell of a tractor.
Every tractor breaks at one point, but I'm in the 3rd year with my TYM T474 Cab HST, I currently have 324h on it using it for snow removal, logging and mowing with mine with no issues.
I have a Yanmar SA324. Great tractor! Powerful and compact. Amazing lift capabilities. I really love the separate hydraulic system, for loader/pto lift, and the steering. Great idea.
Here in my part of the country where its corn fields its been a revolving door with the lesser knowns . Kubota had nothing for 40 miles but yet they are painting my area well
I have the Rural King RK24 with a Yanmar diesel engine in it. I love it. It was probably $8k cheaper than the equivalent John Deere and Kubota tractors.
Tractor manufacturers/dealers biggest problem, as I see it, is distance from potential customer. I remember when I last purchased, I felt it necessary to purchase a brand that had a dealer relatively close, in case I needed repair. Afterall, there's no sense in purchasing something that large if you have to drive it many miles to get it worked on. In our area, Deere lays claim to having the most extensive network of dealers and thus my decision to purchase from them. I found other brands I liked better, but the distance factor was the overriding factor.
I stayed for the whole video. This has nothing to do with my life, but tractors are cool, and you made cool talking points. I learned something new today, much appreciated.
The Rural King stores in our area move several of those tractors, I’m sure they’re a good deal less than a Deere, Kubota, etc..., but you can tell a difference in some of the features they offer, versus the bigger lines.
I just bought a Branson 5835, my first tractor. The dealer was forthright about KYM acquiring Branson and that the brand would be supported. The price seemed right (especially after shopping Deere and Kubota). The info in this video confirms the dealer wasn't peddling BS.
Great video Mike I've got an LS and I've heard they're distant cousins of Mahindra plus they make New Holland and Case small tractors, I bought my LS 3 yrs ago was 5-10 grand less than JD now it's 15 grand less than a green or orange tractor current cost
Wonderful I have one. Only reason why I bought it was I needed it in three days for an up coming storm. Hydro has a weak pump and uses a lot more fuel. Great job Branson
It all comes down to corporate greed !! The bosses make millions while the employees are living hand to mouth !! I was once a skilled trades machinist in Michigan, the bosses were literally buying new Cadillacs and breeding Clydesdale horses while the floor tool makers were driving 10 year old trucks and living in trailers ! No insurance, no dental, no optical no retirement !! The owner literally referred to his employees as “ rif raff”
I heard Branson was going away early last year. When I said something to the Branson dealer near me they were surprised that I knew about it. I saw it on a video on RU-vid. I hated hearing about it because I have a Branson and it is a very tough tractor.
We had a brand new Branson dealer here last year then he switched to Bad Boy & Yanmar. I’m sure Bad Boys are fine, but to me, they look like a Jack-o-lantern on wheels.
Most of our Rural Kings in Central / Southern Illinois tried selling a different brand of tractors before the types mentioned here. Most do not sell any tractors much anymore-there are a lot of more Kubota / Deere / New Holland / CaseIH / Kioti dealers around this area.
I am waiting for all the dealers in one region to combine funds. Then buy a building and put on their own show. They could lease/rent out the building when the show isn't on.
No they are not gone. I just bought a Branson 4820H on April 2,2024. The tractor was not in stock so had to be ordered. Yes you can go in to TYM/Branson dealer and order the Branson tractor.
Mike growing up in the tractor world one thing I learned at a young age. BUY BRAND NAME. All these people buying these fly by night brands will regret saving their $300 in 30 years when they cant find parts. I grew up green and switched to orange. John Deer and Kubota will always have parts for their tractors and normally in great numbers. Yes they are a little more expensive to purchase but they wont sit in a field for 40 years waiting to find a main hydraulic pump.
You are 1000% correct. I was always told by the older people in my life to always purchase quality brand-name equipment. Anything from chainsaws (Stihl for me) to tractors (Kubota for me) was to be purchased and maintained well. These secondary tractors will break and there won’t be parts available as soon as just months after purchase. I am now the older guy and can verify that the advice I received was wise.
@@macsloan58 I saw this growing up in a JD shop. Someone brought in a Steiger sometime in the early 70s and it sat outside for 2 years trying to get parts. I was around 12 at the time and realized this was not good. A tractor can last a average person a life time so I don't understand buying off brands just to save a few hundred bucks.
@@macsloan58 I agree regarding better buying. The poor man pays twice. Thats my moto, but I own a TYM over a Kubota in the same tractor bracket. I am a motor mechanic of 35 years. I saw value in the TYM over the Kubota. TYM have been manufacturing for many years and I have faith in mine. I think that the quality in my machine is very good for the price point. I believe that I made the best purchase as the TYM ticked more boxes for less money.
@ kevchard The reason J/D is green is so nobody will notice it sitting in the field ( broke down)for 6 months . 😂 My brother in law has spent more money on his 2 green tractors (In repairs) in2022 than I paid for my N H. Tc40. I have finally found something that leaks MORE than a Harley. And it just happens to be priced like a Rolex. It’s amazing what MARKETERS can get people to believe.
@@marshallcollins8634LOL I cant argue that but that is also why I bought a Kubota. JD is not the same quality as it was in the 60s and 70s but you can still get parts for them.
I got in the market for a tractor a couple years ago and went to the new Holland dealer and me and my grandson and I stood around waiting for someone to speak to us and decided they didn't want to sell us one so we promptly went to Kubota and bought one and and have been satisfied with it
Ty very interesting I recently purchased an RK25 it comes with extras that would cost extra at the TYM dealer but much to thier credit the TYM dealer has been very helpful with whatever I need
The only Korean equipment that I have had an opportunity to use was the Daewoo fork truck. My opinion, if you put a Daewoo and a cat fork truck side by side at the same price, I would pick the Daewoo! The hydraulics on the Daewoo is so much smoother and so much Easier to use than the cat that I would never pick the cat.
Didn't get a Branson for that exact reason. If you looked them up they was TYM with Yanmar engine. I knew they would be gone and rebranded. I want something that has a great attachment side plus will be here. Also nearest Branson dealer to far away. Basically came down to Rual King, Deere and Kubota / Case. Final choice was Kubota BX23S Backhoe/ tractor. With quick hitch for tiller and middle buster. I have 3 competing Kubota dealers within 30 miles of my house. I have all the land pride attachments to choose from. I couldn't be happier.
Several of the Kubota dealers in and around my area have been bought out by Columbus Equipment, a large Komatsu and other heavy construction/ mining dealer. When Kubota introduced the rubber track skid loaders they took the excavators away from the tractor dealers and gave them to Columbus Equipment. I wonder if this buyout was Kubota driven to have fewer dealers but all equipment available at same company again
I bought a 3510 Branson Tractor in 2004 to develop some property we owned. And because I so impressed what a compact tractor could do, I decided to become a Branson Tractor dealer after I was laid off from my job. I had the dealership from 2005 to 2009 until Obama's financial programs killed off my small business customer base. I had already reached my goal in 2008 of a million dollars in gross sales but didn't sell another tractor in 2009 and went bankrupt. Sour Grapes, yes. My point is, each of the tractors I sold had a Cummins diesel in it and a loader with a full subframe that could attach to the Branson backhoe's subframe. Their backhoe was not a dangerous 3-point backhoe but a full subframe backhoe. Very stout and sturdy unit. None of my well-known competitors had full subframes. Their sales were higher because they had better advertising and we had the way better 4-year warranty. You didn't mention any of those things: better warranty, loader and backhoe subframes, the Cummins diesel engines, and of course, the lower price.
Never heard of them, plus my mother swore she would quit farming before she bought a foreign tractor. I have a neighbor that bought a foreign tractor and it took him a year to get a fuel injection pump for it.
I understand why companies merge but in the long run its the consumer that gets it in the end. Parts disappear and you got a tractor that you pray never breaks down.
Thank you for the inside schoop on what’s happening in the tractor manufacturing industry, I’m in the process of doing my research and trying to educate myself as best that I can before I spend my hard earned money and buy a new forty thousand dollar plus tractor. I think that I’m going with the Kioti RX 7320PC because this machine seems to Ofer a lot of bang for the dollar.
@@macsloan58 A $1000 or so? Try $10,00 or more to get the equivalent Kubota. $15000 more for a JD. I just got rid of my Kubota and bought a Kioti. More features, better built, much better ergonomics and $7000 cheaper.
Amazon or E-Bay motors will probably be the next big tractor company. Parts availability is second to none. Just got a fuel pump for a 94 Dakota in three days, and they don't even make Dodges. Just my opinion 😀
@@tcmits3699 Of course the dealer couldn't get a part for a vehicle that's nearly 30 years old. I didn't say get it from a dealer. My point is that most eBay and Amazon parts like that are pure garbage. Buy parts from a real auto parts store. Yes, they're more expensive but, you won't have to replace them either and, if something goes wrong, take it back directly rather than waiting weeks for an exchange...if you even get one. Again, just my EXPERIENCE.
@@andrewahern3730 I know that Ebay is not a seller. LOOKS to me like YOU need to read what is posted...I wasn't the buyer, my cheapskate friends were. I DO my research, if they don't, that's their fault. I'm just the poor sap that gets to waste his time removing and installing junk that they buy!
I can't believe Bobcat wasn't there. I know it cost a lot of money and I guess it's hard to see direct sales from shows, I think to be considered a serious player in the Ag market you have to be there. The JD dealer arrangement is probably a good thing for everybody, as long as the dealer puts on a good show. They can split the cost, the dealer can make sales, and the buyer can deal directly with people at the show. Only thing I can see it it may would cause strife between dealers if more than one wants to do the show, and the dealer running the show could be seen as stealing customers from other dealers, unless JD has gotten like Cat and doesn't let dealers step on other dealer's territory.
tatum motorsports in missouri is were i purchased my branson tractor they have a hole line up of 2023 branson models listed someone better let them know ... from some more reading and video's seems the branson name is gone just consolidated into one brand tym ...
Thanks Mike, the red is a bit faded, but that cap has been worn proudly for a number of years, before Mahommes and Andy came along. By the way, I'm sorry about the spam comment with my picture. Do not respond to it. They have been reported and blocked from my channel.
I have a local Branson dealer and talked to them about their JD 1025R equivalent a couple years ago. The Branson wasn't much cheaper than the 1025R I ended up with. Man I dodged a bullet.
I’m trying to figure out how to get parts for a Massey 375. It’s a 1987 model that set outside too long and the electronic dashboard is not working. AgCo and dealership says that parts are not available. Any ideas what I can do to put gauges back on this tractor? We got it running and it will be a good tractor again
Bought a bad boy 1022 late fall of last year from Halton of Mooresville , one what does this do to my warranty work? Are they still making bad boy tractors which I was told is a re branded Branson, thank you, Bruce Carlisle
I have a Branson 2610h 2020. It 873 hrs on it. With the big lift capacity. I had to replace the front bearings 5 times.spindel seals twice. The bearings are too small and can't handle the weight of the lift capacity. At$245.00 a side. Right now I'm waiting for the new radiator and fan.this will be the third radiator/fan. The mounting plate for the radiator is made out of old soup cans. $800.00 for the radiator. The loader pins don't wear out,the loader it self does. All the pin holes are yoked out. Junk Chinese steel. An absolute junk of a tractor!!!!! I wouldn't recommend this tractor to my worst enemy.
Hi Mike. Thanks for this info. Can you speak to what LS is doing currently, and what you are in the near future? I have an LS, but it seems they are not taking off, not like their price point would have you believe they would. Aside from some collaboration to make some New Holland models, LS dealers are spread very thinly...not a good thing. Just curious.
When we buy a tractor we don't mind paying 10 000$ more if we can get it back on the resale.. How much would I get for my Branson now.....? I wouldn't buy any of those brand.
I thought they might be talking about Massey Ferguson, because after buying a 2015 1734E, I have a $30K boat anchor because I refuse to be held hostage by MF and the local dealer. Computer won't allow the engine to run, and the dealer wants $500 to even touch it. So to me, Massey Ferguson is dead.
Mike , I purchased a Mahindra 1538 cab hst and I have been trying to get a rear window since October 27 2022 . I don't know if it's the dealership or the manufacturer but I think five (5) months is EXCESSIVE !!! Any help would be appreciated TIA Bob.
No surprise as the global recession gets worse. Sold TYM and Kioti here in NW Montana for a couple years. TYM was always the winner on price point for those who didn't want to spend more for a Kioti. Good tractors, just not quite as 'built' and refined when compared to a Kioti. Be interesting to see who merges/consolidates next.
Any comments on reliability of TYM vs. Kioti in the 25hp category? Price being roughly equal which would you go with and why? I have dealers for both nearby.
I have a 2017 kioti ck3510 with about 500 hours on it. I have used it hard but maintain it properly. I've had a few issues with it but I'm super happy with it overall. Kioti backed it both times without question when I had warranty repairs done. It's a great tractor in my opinion.
@@geremychubbuck3730 There was a dealer near Ocala that I chatted with a few years ago who had been carrying both. He was dropping TYM because at that time, at least, his experience was that Kioti was more reliable. And TYM had surface rust issues in the lot.
@Alex Georgiadis I can say that my kioti ck3510 has been very reliable despite being worked hard. I maintain a 5.7 mile long camp road with it. I pull rocks, ditch, grade a d do all sorts of gravel road work with it. I'm happy with my tractor. I do maintain it religiously and probably over grease it but grease is cheap compared to bushings. They're all good these days but I'm happy with kioti.
Hi Mike. Is there a website or research site I can use to get a good overview but also can drill down into the data concerning 50hp tractors on the market? I can't afford the green paint so I need to find a solid brand with good service and parts as an alternative. Thanks
Robert, that's a great question. It's pretty easy to get specs on the different tractors by visiting tractordata.com, but I'm not aware of a "Consumer Reports" type of rating service for tractors. That might be something I'd tackle if I was 20 years younger, that would be a very handy resource.›
@@danfarrell5177 I subscribe to Good Works tractor email and Utube channel. He sure seems to like them for smaller tractors. So hard to know who makes what where. I'd like to buy American but I'm not sure that's possible anymore
This is exact reason why I bought and will continue to buy John Deere. Never any worries about will they be around next week, or year to supply parts. I love my John Deere.
I always enjoyed your video's, but I feel you are being very misleading in this one. If you watch other farm show video's you will see that there was one in which they talked to a TYM Executive, and he stated that for the foreseeable future all BRANSON models are still available, just with the TYM Name. The way you made it sound is yes TYM bought them and you will be able to get parts but no more tractors, that is not the case. TYM is smart, they know they have some Branson models that are "almost" the same as the TYM models, so they are going to watch the market and see which models are the best sellers, so yes if there was a Branson model you liked you can still get it for the foreseeable future, just with a TYM Name. Once the dust settles and they see which models are not great sellers then they will drop that model, whether it be a Branson or TYM, smart on there part. They also said they didn't drop any dealers, just changed them to TYM. Like I said I found this video to be a bit misleading, saying the brand is gone implies that you just lost all support for your tractors, and I know you said you can still get parts, but TYM's support is going way above just parts. Might have been better to say Branson is now a TYM product with a name change, because in reality that is all that happened, a name change for now, maybe in a year or two they may drop your model and then parts and support may fall off, or maybe they will drop a TYM model and parts and support will fall off, only time will tell. But the other video where they talked to the TYM Executive was much more informative about what's to come of the Branson models. I don't own a TYM or a Bransom tractor, I just think your title was more for click bate and RU-vid views than ALL THE FACTS. Just my opinion. I do like most of your other video's, just not this one.
