ProChara has been praying to the Splatoon Gods for the past 2 years for Custom Range Blaster to come back and they delivered. Also, while it is a no-brainer that an Idol Splatfest will be happening, I hope that it isn't the Final Fest to close Splatoon 3 and hope it's a penultimate Splatfest since there's not too much context in terms of what happens to both the winning and losing teams in Splatoon 4. Personally, I hope it themes like; _Where would you live to live? Past, Present or Future_ or one that I saw on Twitter; _What lives on after the Splatocalypse? Memories, Reality or Dreams._

The fact that it would be such an obvious choice is what makes me kinda doubt it. 2's final fest was a step up from 1's in its theming and how important it was presented, so it'd be weird to then have 3 end on just a vanilla popularity contest again.

Agreed. It feels more similar to the squid vs octopus splatfest that 2 got on it's anniversary (though I guess we'll have to wait and find out). Here's a really funny idea that'll never happen: what if the winner of an idol fest ended up being guest hosts for announcing the actual final fest?

Screen actively works against hydra's long range unless you position very carefully. Screen blocks long range vision... ...on the longest range splatling. Might be able to make it work because you can see through screen sometimes.

Edit with Crab is going to be so damn crazy bro, I had the biggest smile on my face,when I saw it, plus Hydra with Screen can be good too, considering how long it takes to charge up, so honestly big W for Splatling players in my opinion.(P.S, I am a Splatling player as well)

The fact that it took this long for Range Blaster (CHARA'S FAVORITE WEAPON in case anyone forgot) to get a second kit is unreal. At least it's the S1 kit that Chara wanted.

One more underlying problem: Splatoon 3 still doesn’t have a repeatable way to get Super Sea Snails. That means that, unlike the last 2, once you’re out of Snails, you could really be *out*. This would make non-boutique gear a priority for star power upgrades when desired, and (with the increased star cap of 5) make maximizing star power on gear much more tedious compared to prior game entries. Speaking of which, perhaps the gear system is something worth analyzing and discussing. Just tossing out a bit.

Because first off it’s splatoon *3*, ya know, where pretty much all of the specials are either shot in bursts of 3, have an output of 3 shots, or in trizooka’s case both?…. For the new weapons Bows shoot 3 shots and splatanas have 3 methods of slashing… Like you seethat’s how engrained the number 3 is to this game’s identity? Wouldn’t it be poetically ironic if it was the only one to have only 2? And also, you do know that splatoon 3 is supposed to be an actual upgrade from 2 in terms of variety no? We’re not exactly asking for new weapons here, 3 added one of each weapon class in the same way 2 did, we’re just asking for kits which is the easy part. @@brogoylesplatoon 3 is without a doubt the best game in the series and has lived up to its hype and potential the main problem is the fanbase it has the same level of toxic or almost close to Overwatch and Smash and it's a pity to see fans of smash (mostly the melee fanboys raging) and them and most esport channels defending their own childish behavior. I have been playing since 2016 Splatoon 1 I have nostalgia for the first game the second game was more of the first but the third is a big improvement and it plays and feels like a sequel and not a cash grab like Overwatch 2 became.

idk about last season, but last big run deifnetely with all of the bosses, maps, and grizzco weapons persumably since multiple can be seen in one shot of the trailer. however ending it this season would make sense to easily loop back to the first season. i just want bubble blower back... only good special from 2 that is missing still

I totally see the final fest being an Idol Group splatfest. Like the announcement has Off the Hook and the Squid Sisters hijack the news so they can announce that they'll be the ones representing their respective groups. Maybe it can be like the Inkling vs Octoling splatfest where people without the dlc can go to the respective hub for the duration of the splatfest, idk. As for 3rd kits, I feel like we'll get official word during the June direct.

I think there will be more content after this, and that’s because of a simple fact - we don’t have Urchin Underpass yet. Call it copium but I think it would be so odd if the ONLY Splatoon 1 map not playable on switch (besides Saltspray for obvious reasons) is the ORIGINAL Splatoon map, the one that’s in Mario kart, possibly the most iconic. I think we’ll be getting at least it (hopefully Reef too) as a bonus stage along with third kits. It just wouldn’t make any sense otherwise.

ive been going through the 5 stages of grief with the fact this might be the last update, and i've reached acceptance. I'm fine with the state the game is in, especially if these next 2 patches are good. We even technically have more kits/weapons than splatoon 2 (not including reskins like octo/hero/order weapons) Where splatoon 2 had 129 splatoon 3 has... 130. so its not by much. or maybe i miscounted. but still.

I think the recycled brella sub is a bamboozler reference, mkii had mist. I feel like the kit definitely leans into the more mid range play style though. Not using the canopy to push but more to control space ahead of you. Kinda like how a projectile zoner in a fighting game uses their fireball, except now the recycled mkii gets a flash kick if people get too close

The drought between S2 and S3 was painful. Splatoon is supposed to be Nintendos GaaS shooter franchise so it's just so odd to shut off the service for a year or two. I hope they make S4 a priority and develop AC seperately. S4 needs to be 4 player split screen coop, a better anti smurfing solution, voice chat, and a system lifetime dlc strategy. S5 should not be on Switch 2.

They are probably gonna keep doing some big runs splatfests and challenges for a while after final fest. But if they don't have new ideas for challenges and would recycle them, I really hope at least some of the challenge modifiers would be added to some turf war and anarchy open rotations. Please don't limit it to only private battles because then most people can't enjoy them.

Note: kits have been revealed/fully confirmed for the Mint Decavitator - Splash Wall Ink Jet Note 2: Mint Decavitator's charge is actually relatively fast, seems to be able to roll if it doesn't connect, and seems to have 2 stages of charge (just my observation from a gameplay clip we got today tho) along with the ohko hitbox being quite big and far away

I do think this is the final season but I also think we'll get something afterwards in September, remember 3rd kits didn't come out in platoon 1 & 2 until AFTER all the 2nd kits came out. Also I think the Mint Decavitator has a shorter range charge slash projectile

I’d give wellstring curling bomb and bubbler because point sensor is useful for aiming and Splattercolor can pair with point sensor to block their view and improve yours. and decavitator would get sprinkler and reefslider to play to its dash-slashing niche, reefslider gets it into battle, and sprinkler gives it a small reserve of ink or a distraction to go more frontal, if these are bad kits, please let me know, and give me ur ideas too

0:42 also confirms that the splat bomb is from the CRB, not just do you see a range blaster shot come out but a splat bomb is also thrown as well

This isn’t the end of the content cycle, I’m not convinced. The trailer didn’t indicate anything is the end of anything - that jellyfish with the idol merch isn’t signifying a splatfest or anything it’s just the idols badges and a jellyfish walking through the desert out of context. Nothing here is screaming “the end” (Big Big Run isn’t the end until Nintendo says it’s the final big run) and Nintendo have not said this is the final update or content drop or anything as of this moment. I think it’s just people hyper-reacting to something to fit a confirmation bias they construed themselves into thinking. Until Nintendo say their usual “this is the final update” like they do with most games I fully believe there’s going to be more.

I've seen someone speculate the jelly at the end is a teaser for 3rd kits possibly being idols choice, or maybe anniversary fest rather than final fest, and I honestly would prefer those options over it being final fest. The final fest being which idol group you prefer is a pretty obvious choice and makes sense with the jelly teaser at the end, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what happens. Although there is one thing that makes me raise an eyebrow at it. If that really is going to be a splatfest topic, then one of those choices needs to be assigned to Shiver, another to Frye, and the last to Big Man. It would be wildly out of character for either Shiver or Frye to not pick their own team, so I'd be curious how they resolve that?

0:41 You can not only see a Range Blaster Shot coming out after the Kraken, but also a Splat Bomb exploding as well. I think in this shot you can see the splat bomb very clearly, before exploding.
