This Train Stopped & The Crew Jumped Off! Now What's Going On?  

I've seen CSX crews do that downstate here. There's a spot in Highland, MI, that's right next to a 7-11 and they will often stop for a break. The store even created a nice path from the tracks to the store for them.

Here in central ohio, crew used to stop at mcdonalds and block the crossing 1/8Th mile back. Normal thing. Then mcdonalds moved one street over. End of the rr happy meal

I've seen this happen on Jaw Tooth. Can't stop just anywhere though. Probably doesn't have many options. Now that's a job worth having!

What happened was the crew was changing shifts. That is why the train stop. Switching shifts okay

I think breaks are mandatory. Accidents happen when they work long shifts without breaks .

It appears they stopped to get some food across the street. Their hands were empty when they left but full when they returned.

Thanks for the lead video at "H" St has the Melanie's a little coaxing to go get going and also the CN curving track is pretty much the Last Remnant from the iron ore hey days. Since it's been a year since you were at that Crossing where's some rails were removed and dirt piled up has anything happened there since then? Well 11 cars of logs will help keep things moving down the line at Sagola. Was that stop a full-blown lunch hour or just running to get snacks and soda? Back when C&NW .had their Branch down to the Schlitz. Elevator industrial area they always made it a point to stop for an ice cream at the Dairy Queen on Hampton Ave. It was seasonal so the stop was only between early April and the end of October. Make that a double swirl dipped in chocolate

Maybe someday I'll make a vacation drive to the U.P. and US 2 during the summer. Had to go to Iron Mountain a lot when I drove a semi and it always seemed to be in the winter. Hated driving a semi up there, but loved the scenery.

Looks like ELS railroad is waiting to tag a car then they will increase safety at their RR crossings. Safety seems to be filed in the same garbage can as preventative track maintenance.

The CSX R R Florida crew stops and goes over to the Hess gas station across the street for break but they are waiting for a North bound to pass and then they hook up and go,,,long waiting time,,😢

I use to watch them stop at Willamstown Junction. And go to the Junction Liquors store.
