NBTT Episode 1:
I put this together because I've made massive breakthroughs in my game and with my students recently by focusing on their POSTURE. I find that this is the number one challenge that all beginners face because people enter the sport and spend time learning forehands and backhands standing still, but in a real match you never see those same shots they hit in training. This is discouraging and frustrating and one of the main reasons that beginners quit, or progress slowly.
Even at higher levels you can still see people that are stuck at 1800 and 1900 and they stand straight up at the table with their weight back in their heels. Forward posture is absolutely fundamental to the game, and for that reason I believe it's the most important thing for a beginner to master as they enter the sport.
I hope that you enjoy the video! Subscribe for more tips and to watch me fight my way to my rating goal of 2000!

Sorry about the music at the beginning 😅 "My name is Nathan Britt. I learned to play table tennis from an Olympian and today I'm going to teach you about posture." I promise I'll do better in the next one 🫡😅😂

Hi buddy Gd game against Richard especially.👍👍👍 More consistent. I always tell my students, be the first to open up. Anything that goes over the edge of the table, we must loop first. Coz, at amateur level, when we loop, the opponents will always block/defend. Focus on quality of spin n placements, not power to open. Once they block, we control that rally. I see your posture is lower, eyes closer to the contact point👍 Your BH is solid. Usually BH is always easier coz not a lot of footwork required. Practice a lil more on looping against low backspin. Too many pushes against long ball when u should've looped. Coz against good players, they dont need to be asked twice to loop... and when they loop, u will be the one defending, n them dictating the rally. So, loop first at every chance u get. Get into position, and "HUNT" the ball... instead of waiting for the right one for u to loop. Keep it up..😊😊❤

I also have a similar robot. It helps me developing the different shots. Could you do a video as a tutorial as to how to use this robot for footwork training ?

@@Nathan_BriTTAlso, since your channel appears to use vlog format, please consider an introduction video outlining the development of your game to date. How long you’ve been playing, the evolution of your style/strokes/techniques, equipment, and how your rating progressed.

What is the 4-digit set of the drill at 0:48 on the robot? I got the same robot so I'd really appreciate it.

I always just put it on the highest topspin setting and the highest rotation setting and then frequency 5. Then it's basically like a really solid random ball generator. Thanks so much for stopping by the channel!

Did you say you'd be playing 7-8 hours a day? Not even Chinese national team plays that much... they train about as much, but not all of that is at the table. What do you do for a living? :)

what happened to penhold
@Nathan_BriTT
@Nathan_BriTT 10 месяцев назад
I switched to shakehand about 6 months ago or so. I just never felt like my penhold was very stable and it was hard to play confidently. I'm playing much better now that I've adjusted to the shakehand grip, but my rating dropped a lot when I initially made the change 😅
