I prefer build videos, and I prefer them with voice over because sometimes it's not obvious what's going on and I will seldom watch one without the voiceover. I also like having it playing in a window while I'm working.
Great video. I guess build videos don't do as well as they used to on YT but as a beginner trying to gain skills these videos are very valuable. Thanks.
Pretty sweet. I can totally relate to when you cut your panel to small after coming back to it after I few days. I'm lucky to get a few hours a week in the shop so I project my tale me a few months. Couldn't tell ya how many times I've started doing something and all the sudden remembered what I had originally intended on doing. But crap happens. Ya do what ya gotta do n move on. Oh yeah, best commentary ever ! And I much prefer a voice over. It helps me with the learning process.
I like using Blum's drawer front adjusters to dial in fitment. That combined with the adjustments in either the Blum or the Salice slides make it easy to get things perfect.
I built a grooming box for a silent auction for my daughters junior rider program. I used horse shoe shaped through tenons in that build to join the front and back to the sides. I had to offset the tenons towards the inside of the box otherwise there would be no meat on the outside It was quite the project but was a fantastic use of the shaper
I don't know about you, but two things you discussed or showed I also utilize, with mixed results. The first is leaving parts oversized for a time, which I have failed to recall when cutting joinery, meaning I needed to recut joinery. The other is dominos on waterfalls. I cut 5 mortises and without fail, place 3 of them. I need to stop cutting 5.😄
Please do not do videos without voiceover. One of your strengths is your narration and frankly, I also find the running commentary occasionally humorous there are too many people doing TikTok like videos go with your strengths.
Great video as always. Question, did I see a new dust collector? I am glad to see you using the Shaper Origin and I agree it is a great tool. Please keep the videos coming.
This is a great video! Thanks for making it and I do like voice overs. It helps with tips/tricks. Would it help to think of hand tools as mass-produced, machined tools?
Love these types of episodes. And what a great build- awesome. I wish you didn’t feel the need to pre-empt all of the dickhead comments. Ignore haters it will make you happy 😀
Great build thanks. I prefer the voice overs. Also I prefer serious videos. The guys that pretend to trip or do other dorky things don’t get any points from me. Keep up the great work and thanks again….
Great video. Love the simple design. I do have a question about the hammer k3. Now that you have several projects under your belt, do you see yourself ever going back to a cabinet saw? What about upgrading to the Felder K700s? Also, how do you rip long (8ft+) boards with the saw? Do you take the crosscut fence off, or just do it with a track saw? Thanks in advance!!
Why not pull out a hand tool..... I immediately felt gross....🤣🤣🤣 Great build. I don't care if your video had a voice over or not. Still going to watch it. But come on.... pocket holes???? And then jumping right into a Shaper Origin? 🤣 Who am I kidding... I love it!
Oh yeah... and I'm still loving my Graco QuickShot. It's amazing. Going to use it today for a commissioned piece. My husband has taken some time off and has been using my shop. He used the Graco and loved it as well.
Build videos, lass dialogue unless needed. Waffle is as waffle does... 21:50... Cutting off an entire board from the glue up.... You seem to have forgotten a lot of measuring this build :) Nice build too btw :)
I'm not really impressed with videos that don't have voice overs. I like hearing the thoughts of the creator, and why he/she , is doing what he/she is doing. I normally pass over the non voice over videos.
