What's up servants of the Emperor, Briggso here, with yet another Darktide build!
This time we are taking a look at the Veterans as they got new keystones which i wanted to put to work.

I run very similiar build, but with Frag grenades, Scav aura and Deadshot. And stamina regen on Weapon Spec to make sure I always can push after using said Deadshot. I get extra points for all that from the middle root of the tree, only getting to ability cooldown reduce. Overall, it's a great build for Hi5ST and malestrom missions - one of the best bulds for Vet currently (IMO), along with Plazma gun Commissar.

I was starting to get into vet recently beacause of my psycher addiction, and yea, I will probably run this one for one cause it looks like fun

I personally have Wrath and Rampage on my chainsword. Wrath gives insane cleave and Rampage gives extra damage. With this combo it dices smaller enemies quickly.

I kinda feel reciprocity belongs in this build. 25% damage to other weapon after kill would help a ton, maybe more than the orange thing in the middle tree? It's tough out here making choices as vet but i can tell without playing it, this is a good build. Also lovely bell play, that's what I'm here for.

in order to get to reciprocity you also have to take a 10% melee damage node so its actually 35% damage for your melee

i run a similar build with the las pistol and shovel but no melee crit nodes instead the stacking brittleness and shovel's rending blessing for bonks and las pistol spam with scavenger, gotta try this if i ever get the blessings rolled on a chainsword

i personally run the lawbringer shotgun with the mark VI power sword because you can get a blessing that gives additional close damage on the shoty then switch to the power sword for some crazy melee comabt

Yeah I've been running this with infiltrator and power sword. It's dicey to play veteran in melee but I've led every single match I've played with it (Auric heresy mostly) in damage and damage to elite enemies specifically. Powered shove attack into light with basically 1 shots any enemy in the game

Love al lyour builds man! returning to the game after the big fixes a couple months ago and just wowwed by how good the game is. It is a resurrection, like Vermintide had:D Quick question, how did you break through to damnation and auric? I solo queue and I feel like it takes my all just to drag randos kicking and screaming to wins in Heresy. No one plays their roles and no one cares about teamwork on average. Is organised group play the only way or am I missing a trick? Thanks again Briggso, and keep it coming!

Thanks for the kind words. I mainly public queue too. Having strong builds goes along way in helping to beat Missons. I try to stay in coherency as much as I can and if I identify that there is a less skilled player, I try to stay near them to help them out. It doesn't always work but the game is the game!

I keep switching from the chain sword and a Reshad Axe with Brutal Momentum (It can 1 shot headshot 5 walkers in one swing) its tough because the chainsword has more utility vs elites/specials

Lately besides spending an unhealthy ammount of time with the talents where I basically end up the same regardless I'm just trying out allot of weapons I usually ignore, like more light hitting but more rapid fire Kantrael infantry guns and autoguns.

Why no Agile Engagement? That should be one of your core "swinger" talents by default. With the node for 10% melee damage and additional 10-25% with switching, drop For the Emps and top left two talents to get AE, and the toughness keystone talent and you are getting a major melee damage boost and the switching occurs all the time for toughness recovery.

Measuring win rate seems weird to judge a build, unless you're true soloing. You can win with a lot of stuff, even if it's bad you're just having the other teammates work more. Sometimes the game just wants you dead. Sometimes you get paired with a +500 try hard, sometimes you get paired with cosplaying casuals. I'd rather judge a build by looking at relevant metrics on a scoreboard. In this case, melee damage or overall damage.

totally understand since they keep nurfing the range on this class. Still what is sad, is the the phy will always still be the best range class, zealot best support class and ogryn best frontline class. Vet is shet.

hmm I'm not even sure that's true cause what's important is what feels best to play but, Vet (and its tree) feels very customizable; a hybrid of any two things you listed the others as being "best" at. Vets have a useful, fun and diverse toolkit imo.

@@u-mos8820 " feels very customizable;" umm are we playing the same vet? you really cant customize the vet. you got 4 builds and thats it, one for each key stone (because rushing to a keystone without ANY OTHER PICKUPS, cost 20 points, if you want addons for your ability thats anywhere from 1-3 ) vet right now is VERY restrictive as to what you can build seeing the keystones takes so many points at the end youre left with anywhere from 10 to 4

@@Thekilleroftanks talents are just an accessory to weapons and Vet has the biggest spread. Yes the tree feels tight, there's a lot of tough choices. But that's just one aspect of the kit.

@@u-mos8820 bruh you're trying to justify a shitty system. Everyone agrees vet can be condensed. Why the fuck I wasn't condensed during patch 15 is stupid. At the same time vet was overall nerfed if you don't use a keystone anyways.

No point with revolver. Very ammo efficient gun, you don't need to use lots of bullets if you can hit your shots.

@@sylvanomangano8453 You'd know this was false if you played maelstrom for a game or two. The ammo return also applies to allies in coherency.

@@sylvanomangano8453sorry chief, survivalist is that important. The only time to not use it is if someone in your party is already running it. It helps the group too much, and in hiST it allows you to get away with not taking extra ammo node.
