OKaY SO idk if anyone has mentioned this yet but the reason the warning was at the end was to reflect on the fact that the main character only realized how horrible the drugs were until AFTER she did them 🥶
I honestly think the warning was put at the end for the fact that there's no warning for what's coming until it's too late when it comes to drugs and such. Or something like that-
i mean thats also kinda how epilepsy would be i guess? like you dont know whether or not youre epileptic until either you get diagnosed, or "it" happens
the princess lyrics could be a reference to the beginning of the song 'the princess ate a mushroom', explaining that after she ate it she has become someone crazy and an addict to the mushroom drug. thus why there is 'i can't become a princess' and 'i can't go back to the way i was'. just a theory :)
This why I really love Maretu's music.... He uses fear, excitement and your own mind against you just to get across real world problems.... It's amazing
There are lyrics in here that are not sang, but can be hard to read since the text is white and they're not on the screen for long. But they're, "Hunger Planting Up ↑" and "Hunger Planting Increase BURN". I believe "Hunger Planting Up" means after trying shrooms once you get addicted to them as if you have a nonstop hunger for them. The "Hunger Planting Increase BURN" I think means you're sanity fading away the more you eat them, increase is the more you eat them, burn means your sanity starting to decrease. That's all I wanted to say :b
If you want another song from Maretu, I suggest Pink! Its a banger, but also Ive read multiple interpretations of it ranging from drug use, censorship of violence, and/or a real life serial killer/cannibal. So yeah, interesting, dlajnbadlfkjn-
I havent seen anyone talk about it yet but i have 2 possible explanations for the calm song at the beginning. 1. The starting song in the mv kinda sounds like a childrens song/nursery rhyme so from there it can be taken as the mcs innocence and immediately after the first word, it jumps into the chaotic mess of magical doctor which shows how quickly one can spiral into addiction 2. It can also be taken as how people get initially introduced to drugs as the common phrase “theres no harm in trying” tricks ppl into believing that lie and so the innocent looking song lures you into that state of vulnerability but when you take in the first lyric (or rather first dose) it can be seen how quickly something innocent looking can actually be so harmful and thus u r stuck in the extreme bop that is magical doctor until the end
I JUST INVERTED THE COLORS OF THE “TEARS” BIT OF THE SONG AND THOSE LITTLE CIRCLES OR WHATEVER U LIKE TO CALL INSIDE THE LETTERS ARE 😢 emojis. just wanted to point that out if anyone wanted to know what they were lol :]
I believe there's a sequel called "Namida" (literally what magical doctor spells out) I can't really remember what it meant but I heard it was a continuation of magical doctor.
I had no idea what this song meant until I looked at it harder. The nice soft music at the start is Miku (the MC) before trying drugs, and then the acid trip visuals after is Miku after trying drugs. Deep stuff.
Maretu's sound is so distinct that even when he branches out a little into different sounds, you can still tell it's their work(Namida, their collab with Kairiki Bear with the new version of Failure Girl, Born Before,) but their songs all have this feeling to them, it's amasing. And if you haven't heard it, it'd be real cool to see you react to Bug by Kairiki Bear, both the Hatsune Miku version but especially the Project Sekai version with 25-ji Nightcord de, a unit from the vocaloid mobile game the song was commissioned for. The vocals are insane and it's so catchy
Theory The princess probably ate a mushroom and got a bit addicted so she went to the Docter to help her stop her addiction but the mushroom took over and made her see things and she can't go back being a princess with all the stuff she has been seeing
i feel like to simulate a very very calm and reduced acid trip without hurting yourself...mostly, you'd have to spin around in a desk chair for a minute, then shine an extremely bright light of neon cool colors (because your eyes will invert the colors, making them be neon warm colors) then enjoy the suffering 😍😍
My interpretation of this song: It's about a certain disease caused by magical mushrooms (some of the symptoms, as shown by the lirycs and the visuals, could be both hallucinations and extremely euphoric or depressive phases, maybe even skinburns) which were caught by a "princess" (a young child, probably part of a rich family) I say it was specifically magic mushrooms because the title is "Magical Doctor", it takes a magician to do a miracle, i assume. So, it's a slowly deadly disease, as shown by the end of the song (think about that abrupt stop.), but it is one that takes time, and that time alone is enough for the child to lose hope in life (saying that "she could never become a princess"), and that's how the disease gets you. Loss of hope. Thank you for coming to my tedtalk.
Tbh I think this song is about a recovering drug addict, who is struggling with life and wants to go back to those times where she was addicted but she can’t. That’s why it says I can’t return to being a princess, which may be an affect of hallucinogenic drugs and then at the end when she said its no use she becomes addicted again which is why it flashes again.
Fuck I slept in and I’m one hour late 💀. But as a person with autism, this stimulated a lot of feelings and throughout the whole song I was trying not to react to it because I was by my friends and they don’t know I have autism 🗿
Acid user here: the video doesn't rly simulate the visuals like,,, at all lol but what I gather from this is definitely super relatable, a bad trip that you can't stop that doesn't rear its head till it's too late and you just have to deal with it, the change of mental state you get after you first trip (that part is usually good tho in my experience, your mind is like opened up and you see the world differently), the emotional states you go through. Serious note for anyone thinking about doing anything: have good company, a comfortable environment, snacks, entertainment/activities, plans for how to handle things like if someone pukes or has a panic attack, and don't eat greasy food or chinese food before hand. And if you don't know for certain the acid isn't laced, get a test kit to be safe. And for legal reasons only do it places where it's legal. This is not advocating for drug use, it is me giving information to people because I know 100% that there is someone who will need to know this because they *will* try it and you can't stop that from happening
Also the comment section is filled with misinformation about "addiction" that cannot be from psychedelics in the usual sense (calling junk food chinese food killed me asf if that's the point)
In my opion i think the song is about the phasese of drugs and the effects of them. In the begining you see how the song starts of like mushro- and cuts off to rock music, i think the psilocybe is a like drugs, and the i can't be a prineses part is her losing her inocents as a lottle girl cause she had drugs, and it can also be seen as her going a bit crazy from the drugs so shes imaging her self as a "princeses", and if you didn't see theres a lyric that says "you can't go to the infurmary if your not sick its not a exuse to skip class" something of the lines of that. So that means shes taking drugs to school or the school nurse is feeding the "princeses" drugs.
Okay you made my day slightly better :] And I listened to this song and when my parents asked about it I said *magical mushrooms* and I never gave them a clear answer
I had an aunt who overdosed on drugs. Idk what drug it was. My dad did tobacco chew pouches (he quit), my mom smokes, and my nana smoked (died of lung cancer/second hand smoker). I’m very interested in drugs to see what it does to your mind. Believe me when I say, don’t do drugs. I seriously mean it.
Another fun Maretu song I'd love to see being reacted to would be White Happy or S.I.U (That is if neither have been reacted to of course and I'm just blind haha) But White happy is definitely a really good Maretu song and Miyashita Yuu also did a cover of it!
Magical doctor is one of my favourite maretu songs along side SIU, mind brand and more (I think the last song is called that, I haven’t listened to it for a while but it’s still a damn good song)
I should have listened to the warning- I got fucking scared the second the cottagecore vibe video switched to the real one that shooshi was talking about but I still fucking love the song tho-
NO because I fucking love Magical Doctorl. Legit my favorite song of all time. Maybe it's because I love EDM, Dupstep, etc. but i kid you NOT !!! I don't even take drugs.
This is literally one of my favorite songs.... one of my favorite to play when I'm angry. Or even breakdown too. I might actually draw something after writing this comment
At the end, the "Precautions before viewing" screen appears, Not a hint to rewind, The purpose is to make us think, "No, it's too late!" In other words, if you become addicted to drugs It's already irreversible
waow, i cant believe you reacted my fav song anyway, this song hurts my heart so much because this song reminded me one of my character that i created really like this, man
I’m like 11 months late but anyways so if you reverse the video the video will get another meaning (i think) that’s why there was a epilepsy warning in the end. the end. Edit: so in the reverse video (made my noisy whispers) theirs a comment of someone translating 3 lines when it was in reverse. At the start of it sounds like they are saying “ow!” Repeatedly. And when the screen changes it shows a needle. At the original (what you were reacting to) it was intense to calm (i think) when the screen goes back into the nurse, i think the nurse was like implanting the drug which makes the screen goes wankers. The screen was maybe showing what it looked like or felt when she was on drugs. When it say “welcome to the hardcek” making it more insense maybe showing that she became addicted to drugs or something like that. When it shows the upside down “A”, MARETU was maybe indicating to reverse the video (i think.) When it shows “NAMIDA” on screen translating it to “tears” in english so I think she wants to stop but can’t because shes too addicted to it. She said that she wanted to be cured (like stopping it) by her “disease” and she (the one one drugs) wanted to stop but cant so she called the addiction a disease because its growing more and more on her (aka shes becoming more addicted). And at the end of the video it becomes calm (maybe saying that she died.) The comment on the video said: “Mysterious mushroom the princess ate” “Mushrooms everywhere” “Thank you until now” So the mushroom might’ve been the drug that she ate and it grown onto her that she become addicted or loved the mushroom. I don’t fully know that if she was addicted or not but thats just my theory (a game theory 👍)
