I know it didnt matter but the correct move at 1:27 was to evade. Evade was essentially like S3 here, you would win the clash if you rolled the 95% heads 5 times, and lose the moment you hit 5%. S1 seems ok but was way more risky play as you need the boss to not roll 3 heads 3 times (while you rolled 2 heads) and if at any point boss rolled 4 heads you lose a coin and instantly lose the whole clash. Basically boss just needs you to fail once or just get lucky once, which did happen. (the other correct play was to save your S2s the turn before so you had something better to clash with at that turn)
To expand upon what he says above, since the non-focused encounters ("human encounters") doesn't allow you to choose your own target, it often shits itself and targets the slowest targets for some stupid reason, making you take as many hits as possible before actually using your defensive skill.
