Join me as we continue with Day 4 & Day 5 of This War of Mine designed by Michał Oracz and Jakub Wiśniewski. This game was published originally on Kickstarter by Awaken Realms and the retail release handled by Galakta! Will Bruno, Boris and Emilia be able to survive? Time to find out! Be sure to vote for the Narrative Action card choice at the end. Enjoy ;D FYI: 3:24 I should have kept moonshine as it states on the card. Rats!
At 3:24 , you should not have lost your moonshine as the card directly tells you not to. At 38:14 , the 100% alcohol you found has a weight of 1 so your spare capacity should have been 1 instead of 2. I really enjoy your playthrough videos. Thank you for making them.
Hey George! Good catch, I'll take a look. A may not be able to take it back at this point though. Happy you're enjoying the series. I'm enjoying putting them together for you all! :)
Well, it's dark. There's no denying that, is there? Watching your gameplay is like watching a movie. I'm actually invested in the outcomes of the characters you're playing. RIP Bruno.
Raging gang's is absolutely brutal. Pretty much guarantee you'll lose a character. I took in a character with misery 3 lost them the next day 🤣 then it was just like a mass suicide from misery that ended the game on day five. Awesome playthrough as usual.
I believe the Empathy check for a loss (RIP Bruno) is only one die to roll for all the characters. Now I will enjoy Day 5, your TWOM campaign is awesome!
Hey Mario! Thanks for watching. I rolled for all characters. I’ll check the wording but believe you roll for each character. See you in the next one and great to hear you’re enjoying my attempt to survive! :)
@@RollingSolo ouch, I just watched day 5 and... good luck! In italian rules is definitely one roll and check the result with the Empathy of each single character. In my plays I always prefer to use the Laboratory to close those damned holes, in order to lessen cold and the result of night raids, but everytime is an hard choice!
Tough times in this one ahead! Thanks for the follow up on the single roll. Noted. I need to get those holes boarded up but it’s fun managing multiple problems at once hey? Wish me luck, I’m going to need it haha
Two years old but I just got this and learning the rules. It really helps you're so clear because I was missing rules. Thank you! I wonder if you've done expansion?
I believe that I read somewhere on BGG you can move bandages and meds to characters at anytime, including when you get them, so you an keep them on them to avoid them being raided.
I've heard that to! I'd like to know where that is mentioned? Possibly in the errata? It makes sense in a way if it's meant to avoid it being taken from your storage.
@@RollingSolo sorry for the late reply, but it's a hidden rule that you discover by checking the Journal FAQs (usually at the end of a day period there's a small "See more" with a script number - there's lot of hidden rules there!)
Adam... you can take an action to move a fitting to a different space if you blocked yourself in. If memory serves, you can also take an action to disassemble fittings to regain the resources from them. I have never made it to the ceasefire but I have made it to the last day twice by doing this... Workshop ASAP then board up all holes. They are each worth one for cold tokens and damage from night raids. Then build the reinforced door for the extra rolls for the person on guard duty. It's the night raids that really kill you in this game...IMO. If you can keep them to a minimum most other states can be managed. I always keep two books in storage for the plus two per book to misery rolls in the chair as well. Not trying to be preachy, just throwing some things out there. Again, I have never won the game so take with a grain of salt... :-)
I won two times, first time with -30 points, second time with a 0 score, it was fine enough! Your advices are very precious, I think. I also think that Adam can take some risks and try to exchange stuff, if possible.
Excellent playthrough again Adam. Got this on Friday and plated a few times now and won once. When you gave Boris a veg when he was at hunger 3 and you said you wont be reducing his hunger, why is that? I thought when you eat your hunger goes down. Is that not the case? Edit: Scrath that, veg doesn't lower hunger 🤪
I've not played the game yet though I have it. Watching your playthroughs are really helping firm up the rules. A question: are you ever required to leave someone to guard the place? The last two nights it hasn't played out too well. And now you're close to losing a second companion and she's too wounded to travel or even stand guard (or at least be effective).
Happy to hear the videos are knocking down the barrier to play. In terms of guarding at night, lets just say that if you don’t leave someone to stand guard really bad things will happen. ;D
If he would lose the second character without a new entry, the last one must... yes, really... must stand guard alone, not go viking ahaahahah EDIT: a wounded (or fatigued) character with no action can acts as usual in the night, and then apply the eventual effects when he comes back.
Yes they do! Apparently we like to inefficiently hear our place and watch all the warm air go out the holes of the house haha The board ups would certainly help us against night raids but the whole game is a balance of priorities. ;D
Hey Glen! That’s certainly a strategy but you can’t bring most stuff with you. You’re only allowed to take equip like a sawbladw, shovel, lock pick etc. See you in the next one :)
Hey Glen! I goofed and I know what you mean now. Yes of course you can bring other items along with you scavenging. If you do though it’s always a risk as if the characters die you lose it all. You can also stash things at a location and come back on a future turn. The risk there is that a die roll when you return could have the stash already been found by someone else!
