Yep must be very terrible restaurant overpriced food menus, less portion size on top and bad taste and quality. Glad he paid for that trash so we can all avoid that fast food restaurant and similar like that one's. They are proper greedy and rip people off. But I do know some people will go there spend money on overpriced junk from their place and actually like it and call it their favourite and defend such places. Because I met those people and such greedy restaurants and fast food restaurants also!
@@alimantado373 Whatever I don't care what you think on that I do know some of my favourite restaurants change their oil once a week. But the food quality was brilliant taste and generous portion size, I think food wise *But it's more then changing cooking oil the restaurants I go to I speak to the staff and manager they know me I know them. All their foods are fresh and they show it to me when I do ask them sometimes. And their food are top notch in terms of quality and taste and price* But cooking oil for restaurant needs to be changed once a week before they turn bad and ruin the taste!
Anything lower than an 8 from Danny is not fit for human consumption. Although some of his "solid 10" scores are also questionable. 🤣 The gloves should have been a massive clue as to how bad this place is 🤣

I think £25 for 3 burgers an apple pie and a bottle of water is quite reasonable tbh. In the states you pay like $30 for some burgers that are average lol
I agree, there's so many of these gourmet burger places around now. Most of them will cost you about £20 for a burger, tiny portion of fries and a drink.....£20 in and still hungry doesn't feel great to me
They eat there too dumb to know what real food is. Biggest issue is when people are asked “is everything okay?” Ev1 says “yeah great thanks..” even though uve only taken one bite and left the rest. Come on people, give ur head a shake!

The Tik Tok logo inside the takeaway was a red flag immediately. They’re obviously more interested in that godforsaken app than making decent food. Like the Jesse Lingard of burgers.
so true this. social media more than food to some places. Went to Spudman yesterday as i was in town and had the homemade chilli con carne topping, absolute garbage made with cheap baked beans instead of kidney beans. Meanwhile the owner is posing for mugs in insta.

About time someone calls out the massive overpricing these days. We are all sympathetic and try to support local, independent businesses. There is nothing more disappointing than eating leftovers and bits and pieces all week saving for a takeaway and then spending upwards £30-40 for two and most of it ends in the bin. Add in the bitterness, regret, hangry, not wanting to cause a fuss…it starts to be ‘not worth it’. Thanks, Danny for some perspective. You’re a stand-up and fair bloke. £8.99 for a brisket burger is actually cheap so you can’t call it overpricing, brisket burgers usually sell for £15 and up and if you want to call out anyone it’s the big corporations not private businesses who are to blame
He actually avoided to answer his question, hi skipped around the question and said, "yes thank you mate, ill give it a go" meaning he was only talking about the apple pie he had not tasted yet.

Professional food reviewers would never ask for a refund. It could technically be seen as effecting the impartiality of the review, in the same way as a freebie would.
Nice to see a low score from Dan, makes the review honest. Maybe management can take heed and change some things and Invite Danny back? To be fair the place looked clean, and with all the sauce the gloves were a nice gesture. Some have commented on the vomit on the ground, nothing to do with this place.
I already hate that for some reason every burger comes in a sweet brioche bun now.... they are too sweet already!! bring back normal buns!! add to that jam?? jam??? in a burger??? i'd want a main meal not a dessert!!
Yes totally agree. I wouldnt be surprised if the brioche buns have longer shelf life and stay soft longer, especially if frozen compared to normal bread? Whatever the reason, its surely not for taste.

This is why this format works so well, if they had known Danny was coming the meal would have been completely different. Their hearts must have sunk when Danny walked in the door knowing what they were serving that day. Unseasoned meat and lots of strong sauce seems to be the thing nowadays.
I'm a Preston local and no idea who would recommend that shitehole of a place. New Hall Lane is a dump, has been for years. Surprised you got a receipt and card payment!
We have a couple of burger "trailers" in the area, both with hot plate , each whizz off the onions slices there and then for the order involved rather than a crate of precooked, a decent bread bun bought that morning , choosing the latest delivery from a local outlet store, a slab of cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato...and the burger steamed under the little metal pots on the hot plate, both just under a fiver.
I like how much many people on street come along say hi take pics and entertaining after you order food, set up on street and waiting to be served. Fun to see. Good job you do
Danny gotta try Tipsy Chef and Smashed (when it reopens under All Hopes No Promises name). Those have been such nice places to get some good burgers since I moved to Preston a few years ago
Yes Danny, I’m one of the guys at the end of the video, I live in a Preston but a nicer part haha and I must say I was shocked to see you on newhall lane doing a review, but anyway thanks for the heads up as I definitely won’t be visiting smacks after your review. Next time you visit go to one in the city centre or a different area of Preston.
Lots of places closed down and/or boarded up. Makes it look like a rough part of town. You also kind of wonder what you are going to be eating when they give you a pair of surgical gloves. Instead of a defibrillator on the wall in the shop, they have an emergency stomach pump. A score of 3 - 2 for the water and 1 for the pie.
Not the food. I worked in Preston many a few years ago - it was when Subway 1st opened. Plunginton used to have a cafe take away that would make butties & have a daily hot dish. Lancashire Hotpot with beetroot & picked cabbage - I can still taste it now. Manchester Tart I'd buy for pudding. I bloody loved it. But what made Preston special for me were the people. Friendly, salt of the earth, caring funny folk. I ❤️ Preston! Good grub & top class folk.
No to brioche bun. Weird trend. They are too close to cake and tend to fall apart. Not suitable for burgers with any moisture, sauces or tomato inside.
Brilliant Danny as usual a great and honest review. I hope the owners of this business have the good sense to take your feed back on board and then invite you back. I they make the improvements, have you back and if they have earned your thumbs up they will see a line up down the road. They have to ask themselves a place that looks as good as that why is it empty. I think they are very lucky you have given the answer and for free. Hopefully they will grab this opportunity to improve. Danny love your work man.
Danny told us the price in the video😂£24 that's not cheap for all he got. For £24 you could go to KFC and get a family bucket which would fill the table and still have £4 change. The quality in KFC is probably better too.
Nothing like a good honest review, it's actually very helpful for a fast food joint to even have the publicity. I'm sure with the right kind of management, they can turn it around with the constructive criticism, tweak a bit of their ingredients, get the baker to make some stronger buns, put some oxtail in with their beef patties, change the oil more frequently, and re-invest in their business. But essentially, their marketing is done for the future. So now it's up to them to take the ball and run with it. Thanks Danny for an awesome review.
Buy a packet of mincemeat, stamp on it, and cook it...a smashed Burger.🙄 Hardly extraordinary cuisine... why waste petrol to try it! Ill say it again, prices in the North are too much for too little. £25 squid! Great Danny, for enduring the rain.
