1:43 Funny thing is Fry standing there shaking his head thinking the game is about to be over, yet having no idea that less than an hour later he would be hitting a walk off game winner.
From Merriam-Webster: “Collapse: Anytime you turn a double play in the ninth to clear the bases to get within one out from a win leading by two runs and you don’t close the deal.”
As a baseball fan, this is everything you can ask for as far as excitement goes, CLE is down to the last strike, last out, boom…a double, then a guy only batting .067 so far in the playoff hit a towering game tying HR…then Fry’s 2 run epic HR put the game into history 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Yeah, in the youtube feed I saw, they mentioned Noel only hit .213 during the season, and was 1 for 16 pinch hitting (but, nobody else on the bench, so, beggars can't be choosers, and that one hit was, you guessed it, a dinger). That shot he hit didn't exactly scrape the back of the outfield wall, lol.
Yankee fan, and that was a fantastic game. I wouldn't call it a collapse. Unless by collapse people mean anytime you ever have the lead and then lose. I think if you're a bloop and a blast from a tie game, how can it be collapsing to have it happen? This game had it all. Action on the base paths, timely hitting and power hitting. Some great pitching. Multiple scoring opportunities that pitchers got out of. Just a fantastic game. Even if I wish the result were different. I look at it as being up 2-1, thinking it is unlikely that we fail to win a single road game when we've been so great on the road, and Aaron Judge appears to potentially be on a heater. Which historically is what happens every time he comes out of a slump. He doesn't just start hitting, he goes off on ridiculous tears. I never thought we were gonna get a sweep. To the Cleveland fans, congrats on a terrific win. To my fellow Yankee fans. Stop panicking, it is embarrassing.
Yeah, you guys got ripped off. I'm sorry to see that. They lost to the Yankees. Kansas City played well. They just left too many people on base and 27 walks in the entire series didn't help much either. Thanks for rooting for us.
I've been saying that whole series you guys got robbed. KC absolutely should have taken that series. Your core is very solid, we have the best Division in the Majors, CLE, DET, KC and MIN have very bright futures ahead. I just hope CLE gets one before any of the other 😂 ⚾️🪽⚾️🪽
He didn't even hesitate. He knew he got ahold of it, same with Fry. One of the best post season games I've seen live. I turned off the Astros game five and learned my lesson.
I love how Yankee haters always remind Yankee fans to not bring up their past because its old news and not relevant - then they bring up an even that happened when the majority of the current yankee team was still in diapers 🙄
@@charlesfaris-c5xMan, totally agree! Vogt needs to rethink that BIG TIME. Reset button got hit TEMPORARILY last night, but he might not get that lucky in these next games. He needs to rely more on Gattis (and the other guy that shut them down-mentioned). Clase really should be 9th inning only.
As a Met fan who's had some magical moments this post-season, so happy for the Clevland fans. The mighty Dodgers are slaying us now, and the mighty Yankees may yet have their way with Clevland, but baseball lore is made of moments like this.
I'm shocked the bombers didn't win this game. In fact, NHK cut this game off in the 8th for Sho-time here in Japan. I missed the best part of the game! What a come back! Cleveland has a pulse! Let's go!
@@johnduff3914 How shocking that Japanese programming would switch from one game to another game featuring their icon. Like it doesn't happen in other countries in the world.
And when you look at the insane Budget differences in all the teams playing the playoffs. Cleveland's budget is 1/3 of the others... Thats good Coaching
The Guardians had the lead until the 7th inning when it changed two times toward the end. It was a great game. If the Yankees were up 5-0 and then lost the lead toward the end, then itwould be a collapse.
*freed from the stress of a 9-5 job and built a 230k savings in one month, I now have a good house and cleared off my mortgage-* *thank you, Stacey Neal Brooks*
Nice meeting people who also work with Stacey, she's the only one I could trust, she got me proflts of 14,OOO with a little start up of 2,5OO and ever since she has been delivering.
Stacy Brooks has really set the standard for others to follow, we love her here in Ontario Canada as she has been really helpful and changed lots of life's
I remain eternally grateful to Stacey as well, for her efforts that got me to this point, finally paid off my mortgage and all debts, what more could l've asked for. She changed my life for good.
Bullpen mismanagement by Boone again. He painted himself ina corner and had to use Holmes. Game was over as soon as Holmes came in. Should have started Rizzo and Wells. Bad base running killed Yankees again
We Yankees fans say the same shit every game when they’re leading and looks like they are about to get another W. Please don’t put that tenacious tea bagger Clay Holmes in to close it out. That guy is straight ass..
Crazy how u beat Clark Schmitt n act like Cole or Rendon were pitching u do realize that there gonna pitch again right also that last part of the statement is mad corny u look n sound retarded saying shit like that lmao
Yeah I would call it an epic back and forth not a collapse. A collapse is being up 5 runs and blowing the game. No one was ever ahead by more than 2. It was Cleveland's game to lose until the 8th.
Indians fan here. I am not delusional, the Yanks are clearly the more talented team and have some big bats in their lineup. While I am shocked the Tribe managed to come back and win, NY still leads 2-1 and Cleveland's pitching has looked suspect. Either way, best of luck either team moving forward. The narrative of a Dodgers-Yankees Fall Classic would be epic, but how about Cleveland-LA?
A lot of things went wrong judge and Stanton clutches up and weaver and Holmes were being overused. Weaver is disappointing since we were 1 strike away from winning, also Trevino getting picked off and wells striking out on fastballs down the middle when we had runners on 2nd and 3rd in the 9th is on them as well
@@EdwardSokolowski-n9l yeah I agree it was a disgusting loss it looked like weaver was just trying to blow a fastball by the batter. Hope they can bounce back tonight
It really came to those 2 pitches, Weaver's changeup that didn't fool anyone and Holmes throwing his sinker a bit high so he wouldn't bounce it with a man on 3rd and putting in Fry's wheelhouse. Yanks need to score early and often tonight with Gil on the mound, he should have good stuff but he walks a man an inning.
Collapse? The misuse of that word makes for a disappointing video when you realize it's nowhere near a collapse. It's simply a comeback but yeah let's ride the Yankee's all day everyday!
My son and I watched it can couldn't believe the ending. It was a fun game to watch. I had the Yankees as a sweep for this series. I am glad I was wrong.
Tough loss, but im not worried as a yanks fan. It is what it is, CLE is a good team, this ALCS was never gonna be easy. Looking forward to tomorrow, that will tell the direction of this series.
Yep. As a Guardians fan I know we dont have the talent that the Yanks do but its baseball and you never know. My hope is get a few wins and make the Yanks work for that trip to the World Series. I dont see how we can last in a 7 game series but its going to be fun to watch what happens.
Been saying it for decades now, literal decades now. Beware of the Indians in the playoffs. They always... ALWAYS play the Yankees tough and have won just as many as they have lost in the past few decades. This is the type of game that rips the souls out of a team. Beware Cleveland in the playoffs. They get on a run and it is over.
@@Itseightysix If you don't even know the results and series' over the past few decades then you are hopeless to understand. They single handedly kept us from winning four or even five titles in the 90s. They beat us in 2007 when we had a wonderful squad. They beat us again in 2015 or maybe 16. They had us on the ropes several times and we came back to win. They are and have been our biggest playoff rival in history. We have met them more than anyone else.
I thought it was a little bit premature for Jomboy to post a video talking about whether the Mets or Dodgers matchup would be better for the Yankees. Might not age well.
@@fernandocadena2625 Jazz basically said the Yankees are “WS Champs. No other doubt about it” and A-Rod said the Yankees have an “easy road” to the WS.
It’s crazy how many comments I’ve seen from fellow Yankee fans saying the postseason is over now that they lost a game to Cleveland. Did they think the Yanks were sweeping through the World Series? This was not a collapse. It’s playoff baseball. Despite the tough loss that was a great game! Noel should have never gotten anything to hit with 1B open. He was up there to do one thing and that was hit a bomb. Tough loss but I tip my hat to Cleveland and let’s win this next game! We got a series now 🍿⚾️
The big question is how both teams respond tonight. Gavin Williams, I don't trust to have a good game. He was 3 - 10 with an ERA near 5. The Yankees start Gil, who won 15 games and had an ERA near 3. Momentum only goes so far. Williams gets blown up.
No Yankee fan was shocked by the loss. They were annoyed but not shocked. We’ve been watching this team’s bullpen blow leads all year AND NOT get the big hit with RISP
When CLE plays postseason baseball going further than just the DS, they usually put up a good show. Game 7 WS in 2016 remains the greatest MLB game I've ever saw.
I definitely agree with you. Two things lost that series and that game for cleveland the first thing was the rain delay, but the most important thing was a lot of our fans sold their tickets out to the cubs because they didn't want to put up with the weather and there were definitely more cubs fans there than cleveland fans😂❤
Johnkensy Noel’s homer had me jump up out of my seat in excitement. I was rooting for the yankees but that was electric!!! One of the best homers I’ve seen live for sure
Up 2 Bottom Of The 9th With 2 Outs And 1 Out Away From A 3-0 Series IS A DAMN COLLAPSE 😭 The Gaurdians Blew It In The 8Th But That 9th Inning WAS A ABSOLUTE COLLAPSE Yankee Fans Get Off Ya Knees And Start Using Your Head & Be REAL 😂💯
One out away from 3-0 is a collapse?😂 Dude it's 2-1. It's almost like if people are on here wishing this game counted for 4 wins 😂. The Yankees have dominated them for the most part and just got punched in the mouth. The Yankees despite their obvious flaws are still the better team. Let's see what the rest of the series holds before jumping to wild conclusions.
How is this considered a "collapse"? It's a come from behind win, after losing the lead held 8 innings into the game... it's a single game of a series where the Yankees are still up 2-1...
Rizzo looked like a clod at first base, trying to bend but looking like an old man on a two key plays. They run the bases like 'The Keystone Kops' and I've come to realize they have too many non-contact hitters with very low batting averages.
With the flat cookies Weaver threw to the 2 batters after there were 2 outs so as to let them tie it up, it looked more planned than a collapse but, that's part of the moneymaking business of pro sports.
"unstoppable Yankee bullpen"?! The second they put Clay Holmes in the game, every Yankee fan knew it was a lost cause. The guy led the majors in blown saves and every time Boone puts him in, the fans know he's a ticking time bomb.
Uhh up 5-3 2 outs bottom of the 9th and losing yes that’s a collapse the only one who thinks otherwise would be a Yankee fan y’all will win game 4 and 5 or 6 it’s probably a good thing you guys didn’t go up 3-0 ya know “history”
