As a Kazakh, grew up with two official languages, Russian and Kazakh. He does perform a lot of songs in Russian, too, so keep reacting. Also, he keeps stretching and evolving. His languages sung is close to 20 now. He likes to sing a song in the language of wherever he performs. What amazed me most was how quickly he adapted to singing Mandarin.

Dimash turned 29 in May. Hes from Kazahstan, right next to Russia. He sings in a dozen languages and speaks 3 or 4. He plays 8 instruments. Hes holds multiple degrees in music and is studying for his PHD in Musicology. He played a concert right before Covid hit in New York. He was on a sold out world tour. The crowd was 19,000 and they came from 68 countries to see him! His 1st album went platinum in 37 seconds and triple in under an hr. Hes truly remarkable. The reason you as well as the majority of the world doesnt know him is because he will not sign with anyone. He owns everything. He has recently been in LA meeting with David Foster. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. And this in all the different registers . His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. This instrument can often be heard when Dimash sings songs in his native language such as Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter. He sang Stranger for the first time at New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international competition for young artists, founded in 2002 by Igor Krutoy. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy, like so many other masterpieces, wrote this song specifically for Dimash and his incredible vocal range (in this song alone he sings 5 octaves F1-F6 I think). Igor Krutoy is a famous Russian-Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter. He came out of retirement specifically to work with Dimash when he first heard him. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range (no kidding), like Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You'll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. While Dimash is not Russian or Ukrainian, he has many friends & colleagues in both countries, & has had quite an extensive presence career-wise in Russia. You’ll find many of his performances were there. He also did a live concert in Kyiv, Ukraine- his last of his 1st world tour before the pandemic cut it short. He additionally shot his Digital Show concert during the pandemic there with a mostly Ukrainian crew. I’m sure others have also said- one of his big collaborators is with Igor Krutoy, who composed this song- he is Russian & Ukrainian as well.

Hi! Dimash is from Khasakstan. He sings in multiple languages (16 I guess, nowadays), speaks russian and khasak (of course), 🙄a little bit of mandarin and english. He composes many of his songs and do the musical arrangements and he's an independent artist. He´s very well known in asian coutries, but has fans all over the word. We are called DEARS. 🥰Many of his songs are in Khasak like Durdarz, Daididau, Omir, Omir Oter, Salmatau, and others. The music that has is "trend", is: SOS d'en terrien en distress (french song). An arrangement from an original music, from another artist. When he sang his version of the song in a competition in China (I am a Singer - 2017), suddenly, in the next day, he needed bodyguards!..😎 He is an amazing artist, who works with Igor Krutoy many times. Hello Brandy. Dimash us actually Kazakh. Though he does speak Russian (as Kazakhstan list it as one it's main language.) He has also traveled and performed in Ukraine. Do check out as well "Marigolds" ( a Ukrainian folk song) & "I only love you" (a Ukrainian song as well) . More power.

As I see others have already pointed out, though this performance was in Russia (New Wave Music festival in Sochi) Dimash is Kazakh, not Russian. Igor Krutoy- the composer and pianist here is Ukrainian/Russian though. Dimash performs in multiple languages, using multiple genres, across multiple octaves, and plays multiple instruments to boot! He does have a number of songs in Russian if you specifically want that, both covers and originals, many in collaboration with maestro Krutoy.

Hi... Dimash premeried this song in this singing contest as a guest jury (*he won this contest in 2015). It takes place in Russia in 2021. He speaks Russian fluently but his native language is kazakh as he is from Kazakhstan. 🙏😊 *Need to correct this info: DI won the Slavic Bazaar in 2015 in Bieloruss and he was a guest judge there in 2021. This particular performance was in Russia, though (New Wave festival). Need to thank a Dear for reminding me this... 🙏😊

This was a professional spot by Dimash and Igor Krutoy (composer, piano) at a big yearly competition for young singers in Sochi, Russia at the New Wave Hall. I believe the pianist/composer Igor Krutoy either founded or sponsors the competition. I may be confusing that with the Slavic Bazaar competition, which is similar. In any event, Igor Krutoy is fabulously rich and successful and has been giving back to the music community for decades. He has recently been composing songs for Dimash, because great composers love to hook on to a top talent when they come along and give them the great songs they need. Dimash is from Kazakhstan and is fluent in Kazakh and Russian. He speaks English reasonably well and has been chipping away at the strong eastern accent. Dimash has some excellent Russian songs : Sinful Passion (Greshnaya Strast) 3 years before in 2018 at this same festival in Sochi at the New Wave Hall : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kLxCjIHhV-g.html . It has good subtitles with language options. The version from Dimash's channel has a brief digital mp4 glitch which was repaired beautifully on this Zominion channel version. The Kazakh group A-Studio plays backup at this performance and wrote the song in 1998. It is more of a Russian jazz/pop style song. Love Is Like A Dream in 2019 at Moscow, Russia at the tribute concert for Alla Pugacheva. She was the first singer of the song in 1994. It was written by Igor Krutoy in 1994 for Alla Pugacheva and then rearranged for Lara Fabian and then for Dimash. Great first Dimash reaction. The funny thing about Dimash is that after each performance that you see, you think you've seen all of his "tools" and then the next one comes and you see other stuff that he can do, and that just seem to go on forever.
