The one thing that I think is great about self driving cars is, in the future, it can take drunk people to places, high people, and people that are elderly/disabled/ handicapped That's the one thing about self driving cars that I think will be such a huge improvement to the world Have you seen how many accidents new drivers are getting into lately? Like literally every single 17 year-old has a license gets into some kind of accident.
As someone who uses this system daily with thousands of miles, I've never found it difficult to use. After watching this, it's clear that Tesla needs to make some type of tutorial video within the car. We all have different levels of intelligence, and it's obvious that they're not at a level to figure out these basic features on their own. Tesla's FSD drives flawlessly in the rain, even in torrential downpours. I feel more confident with the car driving itself in the rain than any human being driving me in the rain.
I have an FSD Tesla! I LOVE it!! I use it 90% of the time. It’s AWESOME in stop and go traffic. It’s not going to go to the left or right and it will always stop when a car is in front of you! The cameras and computers always make sure that the car stays in its lane. It’s wonderful on the highway. I use every day!
I finally got a chance to watch this. Omg, I was getting a lil bit of anxiety watching this, just because I was in a car accident 8 years ago in the rain here in Southern Cali. Very interesting, maybe my next car will be a Tesla.
Although it's autopilot, you must keep your hands on the wheel. Currently the idea is that with your hands on the wheel, can will autosteer and drive. That's why you were getting those warning messages. You might ask what's the point then, but it's much more relaxing during long roads trips like that, you simulate driving but actually the car does it for you. Quote from tesla website: "While using Autopilot, it is your responsibility to stay alert, keep your hands on the steering wheel at all times and maintain control of your vehicle."
That is the future for vehicles. Not only will it effect the police, it will also effect traffic reporters, traffic producers, and those who work in transportation.
Hehe I love the video and how you went about the Full Self driving mode TJ 😂 and It is always comforting to watch you drive on the California roads! :) and Even Though FrannyJ was terrified for the first try she still tried later on I'm so proud of your wife It was also fun to watch her do it. It is very Forward Thinking
I thought they was going to stop that feature in Tesla because they were finding drivers sleeping behind the wheel I am with Francis on this one TAKE CARE GOD BLESS 😊😊❤
My family members have 4 Teslas. They have not said anything about driving on auto pilot. I think that i will ask them about it tomorrow.. Love you all! Be careful and stay safe..🙋🏽♀️🙏🏼❤🌹
Hi TJ and family, i believe if police can’t give out tickets for safe driving cars, they’re gonna charge higher registration fees, govt always gets their $$$ 😅
Hey T.J. Frances JoJo and Rio T.J. I saw this on another vlog someone on Florida not too long ago their car took them to a grocery store it went down rows in the parking lot stopped at stop signs even found and parked the car but it backed in the parking space I think y’all would love it when Frances gets used to it but I’m like Rio that particular car y’all are in when it was raining was going just a little bit too fast 😂😂 for me I definitely understood why Frances wanted to wait I’m just wondering now what exactly would it do when it needs charging would it drive to a charging station probably so lol💕☀️
@@TheFamilyRules Ohhh ok that makes sense T.J. I was thinking that maybe it would head straight for a charging station before it gets too low Thank you for responding and to such a long comment I appreciate it!!💕☀️
Oooohhh…I don’t know, I could not relax enough to enjoy that feature. I have a little second-hand anxiety just watching you guys. I wonder if it had some sort of mechanical or technology failure, would it know to pull over to the side and tell you to drive???😬😬😬
Hi friends! I'm so happy to see you all again, and also this! Thank you to you for making and sharing it with us! It's really great, though it also is really surprising and impressing! Because it's the very first time for me to see this FSD thing in a car! So, I've been really surprised and impressed by it all, about how it went, and also, especially, by how you, TJ, were at ease with it! But I can also see how your fear, and how you, FrannyJ, and the kids all were dreading it, and I perfectly understand you! Especially with the rain that first made it kinda dangerous and scary, and also with this pretty bad experience, this pretty bad accident that you've been through before, and that made it even more scary! And I'm so sorry and so sad for you about it, and I perfectly understand that it's been kinda hard for you to try it all! And then, I also felt it all, it's also been really impressing to me, especially since I'm currently learning how to drive, I've just started having driving lessons! So, just to say, I don't know yet if I would ever get to have and do this when I will finally get my driving license, if I ever get it! And, in the meantime, I hope that it will be ok, and that it won't be as scary for me while learning, on my next lesson, which will be on Tuesday afternoon! But despite it all, it's been really great and interesting, as always, and also surprising and impressing to see, and also how you, TJ, have been handling it all so well! So, congratulations to you on doing it the way you did it! And also much respect, admiration, and love to you for being understanding with your family's, and especially FrannyJ's fear of it all, after all of the bad experiences that she's been through, and taking care of it all as the really great Husband and Father that you are to all and each one of them! But, despite it all, it's been really great to see you all experiencing it all together, despite the fear and them dreading it all, even the kids! It always is really great to see and hear them saying what they think about that! I think that it also is important to know how they're feeling about it! In any case, congratulations and thank you to you all again for this and for everything you do and share with us, and I hope that you all have a beautiful end of your Sunday and Weekend, and I also hope that you have a beautiful staycation in Nashville, TJ, that you keep having much fun and enjoy it all in there, and that we will see each other again quickly! With all my heart and love to all and each one of you! 👏👏👏❤❤❤
Thanks for posting this TJ, nice for the viewers. My only critique is maybe not wait till the 100th time your wife tells you of her family safety concerns & take it more serious at the beginning. Dont think she shld have to explain her trauma in order for her to finally be heard. But I do get your adventurous side.
@4:13 😂😂😂😂 @5:29 😂😂😂😂 I didn't realise Francis had been in a car accident when she was younger. Waiting until the next day was sweet of you TJ. TJ panicking when the Tesla went to change lanes. 😂😂 @8:28 Francis is right. Autopilot is good but you still need to be aware when driving. @11:25 😂😂😂😂😂 @11:52 a year 😂😂😂
After using FSD for thousands of miles I can say you'll have a lot better time once you trust it more. Turn off auto lane change and you signal the car when you want it to change and don't use auto speed so you set the max speed which also counts as resetting the nag timer so you get less nags when you're adjusting max speed. Become a good supervisor and enjoy the car doing the work.
Thanks Dennis for the feedback! Appreciate it. It’s obviously the future and going to give us so much more time back while keeping us safer on the roads. Looking forward to its progression.
If you use the left thumb button on your steering wheel, pressing left or right it will bring up a little pop up menu on the bottom left of your screen that changes modes from chill, normal and assertive as well as the minimal lane change button that you can turn on without having to dig through the autopilot menu. (note that minimal lane change resets to off every drive, I hope they change that) I also turn on the rainbow road setting so it's even more obvious when FSD is engaged or not VS the blue ribbon that's default. If you look more at the FSD user interface you'll notice it highlights vehicles and people in blue indicating to you what it's paying special attention too, a useful communication from the car when supervising it's behavior.
bro - autopilot fine for a plane, much less traffic up in the sky, but on the roads with these crazy a- drivers - awwww heck no!!! y’all can’t find a road in the middle of nowhere to try this stuff out?! hahahaha it’s either raining or some stop-n-go traffic. Mr TJ - you gotta a death wish?
It accelerates to speed limit but that was before we learned there were different settings you can select… such as less lane changes than normal or flow of traffic)… slight learning curve to get it to your most enjoyable settings.
Your wife needs a Xanax prescription.l and counseling. She’s teaching the kids to be irrationally afraid of things. That said, she’s absolutely correct about your hands and feet. You should be ready to intervene at all times, as Tesla makes it incredibly clear.
You should at least know how it is working before using fds …you are in control and responsable for what ever happen,so look at the road and be careful …for me that was not serious … would you fly an airplane just because you know it flies ?
It makes me think of the movie "Back to the future 3", when Doc Emmett Brown is having a conversation in a saloon, in 1883. He says to his 1883 buddies: "In the future, we won't need horses, we'll have cars. People will run for fun". This is what people in 2030 or 2040 will do : they will drive for fun, not for work. No more truck drivers, no more bus drivers, no more stressful commute at rush hour. We'll sleep in our automatic car at night, while traveling to our distant destination. Driving will become a hobby.
I don't ever want to own a Tesla. Technology is always changing and I just don't want that kind of car. I will stick with my gas pumping Honda. At least with the gas I will know when I am about out so I can plan easier. Not all areas have the electric charger for the Tesla where I live.
So, you thought you’d test out a self driving software package on the road, without any understanding of how it works, how to activate it, how to know if it disengages itself, what the expectations are of the system and of you the driver. Seriously stupid thing to do, especially with loved ones in the car. You are not operating a laptop at a desk.
FULL SELF DRIVING, is the software name. If you don’t know even that much, should you really be using it? FSD is awesome and usually works really well, but it’s not “feature complete” and absolutely must not be operated in a half arsed manner.
