This episode made me realize how people often don't post or comment about good things, and they're much more likely to comment about things they're unhappy about. If you happen to read this, thank you so much Alana for posting your reactions. They've honestly helped me get through some days. I don't watch a lot of react content but I found you and several other react youtubers around when CSM was airing and I don't have a lot of friends who are into anime and stuff and it's really nice hearing your thoughts on different episodes and different shows. Your opinions and perspectives are fair and you seem like a really nice person. So thank you so much. I love the vids.

Some of the comments to akane received are also came from the comments of cyber bullying that Hana Kimura received.

Hopefully, in the not too distance future there will be a way to prevent cyberbullying. The internet can be such a messed up place.

Just to give people an idea of how overwhelming and persistent the abuse was, she was a pro-wrestling heel. Getting people to hate her was literally her job. And the abuse she was subjected to over this was so severe that she took her own life.

@@beyondviolet It's a good thing he wrote Oshi no Ko. Apparently he wanted to add a lot more depressing stuff to Kaguya and his editor told him to back off a bit. So he channeled it into Oshi no Ko. Now we have 2 great stories.

@@TheyCallMeDio Actually Akakasa has hinted in some interviews that he originally planned a much darker end for this, but Mengo (who draws the manga) convinced him to change it.

Guess that wasn't included in the Official English translation of those Chapters, as i don't see the obituary (unless i am blind), or the obituary is something that the fan-translator made on the incident.

@@topotu_7473 A lot of events in Oshi no Ko are. That why I love akasaka's works so much. He does so much research for the manga he writes. I remember he mentioned in the kaguya Sama manga that he went to India to research just for a single chapter

I should say this, and I've been saying this, and those who are most vulnerable absolutely need to hear this: When people get flamed on the internet, it might seem like a huge number of people gathered together to shit all over you, but the reality is it's a very small minority of people who are either immature kids or adults with dysfunctional personalities that are spamming their garbage all over the place because they feel like they're doing something good when they see seemingly so many other people doing the same thing. They are on a bandwagon. The majority of people don't even comment about the flaming when they see it happen, or they might put down a comment here or there. But the most outraged people have far more presence on the internet than those who don't feel strongly about the issue. If you get flamed, keep in mind it's a very small number of screwed up people that are doing the flaming, and the majority just don't register that they should say something. Though I will say, at least in RU-vid and CrunchyRoll comments sections, I do see a lot more people lately saying things along the lines of "I see a lot of people saying harsh thing x, but that's wrong because y, z, and w." These comments then get launched to the top of the top comments list via likes, making it almost impossible to find the original negative comments that are actually being called out (newest comments first tends to show more of the negative comments, naturally). Now, unfortunately, sometimes the crazies don't just have a high social media presence. Oshi no Ko talked about how idols can't have boyfriends or, god forbid, children, because their careers would essentially end on the spot due to outrage. The problem there is that the most dysfunctional, delusional, prone to outrage fans of idols are also the people who spend the most on exclusive events, merch, etc. That means that despite being a small minority of fans, the crazies that demand their idols remain single are responsible for a disproportionately large chunk of their idol's revenue. Add on the fact that profit margins are generally pretty slim for the vast majority of idols, and you find that angering these most "loyal" fans by doing things like dating will immediately drop an idol into the red. And recovering from that is basically impossible, you may as well retire on the spot if that happens to you. Having said that, I don't know what might happen if an idol tried to start their career having a boyfriend already, or declaring the intent to date others. There would be no outrage because there's no super fans to be outraged to begin with. But could such an idol drum up enough support to make profits while having such an image? We do have vtubers who talk about taking fat dumps and dating, after all. Actually, I think for all of these types, idols, vtubers, youtubers, streamers, etc., making any change to the content they provide is more than likely to dent their viewership, as those who grew accustomed to a certain kind of content lose interest faster than new viewers gain interest in the new content. It's very difficult to change what content you create and not lose big time. I kind of went off on a tangent there. Point is, there aren't actually that many bad people on the internet, but sometimes those bad people can have disproportionately high influence on others, so the best thing you can do is focus on the bigger picture, and not focus on hating humanity.

You can't expect anyone that was in that position have that kind of mindset like you do. Depression is not like something that can be turn off like lights. If that easy, we won't see those suicide cases happened right? Best be just have empathy for them and try to help them go through the dark time.

@@teddyyo8146 I'm not expecting anybody to have a mindset like me my mindset would be to not care about what anybody says I'm giving advice to cut off from social media so you aren't faced with that negativity anymore. Giving advice isn't telling them to have your mindset or lacking empathy and being there for that individual. The worst thing to do is make somebody going through this to feel powerless and cutting off social media is showing them they have power
