Her voice when she said “Ah, I was finally able to say it” was so soft and sad😭 That “Ah”, that freaking “Ah” was what broke me😭 Peak voice acting🔥

He's not actually interested in dating her. He said 16 to give Sarina hope she would live to see that age(which unfortunately didn't happen)

That ”I love you” when she is dying hits like a truck and her happiness when she realizes that it wasn’t a lie hits like a freight-train.

She treated the stalker with love to protect her son... she was well aware about what would happen to the son...

The saddest part was that when she got stabbed, her life was flashing before her eyes but her life started to flash from the moment her kids were born. In a way that's when her life began. She was so conflicted that she didn't realize that she loved her children all along. She even ended up dying because she heard them wanting to meet their father and gave her address. Truly a heartbreaking episode

He didn't actually want to marry Sarina when she turned 16. Telling her that was his way of nicely turning down a sick little girl in a way that made it seem like she had a future despite both of them knowing she wasn't likely to live to 16. That's why she called him a meanie afterward and he was like, "What? It's a practical plan."

I wasn't expecting to cry after only watching a character for an hour and a half, but the animation, writing and voice acting by Rie Takahashi just makes the character come to life in the most amazing, but heart-breaking way.

This story is really special. Each episodes touches at least 1 of the many issues in the entertainment industry. Episode 1 alone dealt with secret pregnancy, underpayment, online bullying, extreme training and diet, dangerous fans, and the reality that not everyone makes it.

Watching reactions of Oshi no Ko is so funny, every reactor is like “So yeah apparently this show is good??? The reincarnation stuff is super weird though.” And then 1 hour later they are furiously sobbing

Ai always love her kids. She didn't say it because she been saying "I love you" as an idol who doesn't know how to love and never recieve love that she was afraid to say it to her kids and not be the truth. That right there shows that she does actually love her kids... she was thinking of them more than herself. Only reason why she even contacted the fathet was for her kids. Otherwise she wouldn't contact the father. She told the stalker all that to deter him from reaching her kids. It's sad that her final moment she final told her kids she loves them and realize she actually does. That was a mental relief for her as she died in peace.

Can't spell oshi no ko without Oh no.

"She explained herself when she didn't need to, when she should be focusing on her children..." Pouring her heart out aside, that might have actually saved her children, because the stalker could have gone on to kill Aqua and Ruby rather than reflect on his actions and run away.

This show came out of nowhere (for me at least) and oh my god, I was not ready

IM ROOTING FOR THE BROTHER I WANT TO SEE THE REVENGE and I haven't seen anyone who didn't cry or at least teared up for this and I though I was ready but I wasn't and I knew what was gonna happen my hear broke into a million pieces I don't usually wish on people death but the dad has to go

btw the question he got about who the doctor would date if they were to ask him out was about ai not the sarina girl, it was if [ai] were to ask you out what would you say and he went silent lmao. and as for sarina saying marry me and him saying when your 16, (anyone can easily say otherwise and it could be true cuz the doctor was a weirdo to begin with lol), but im pretty sure he was just saying that to her as a somewhat terminally ill kid with a crush on him to 1. make them feel good. and 2. give her hope and strength she could live that long. she obviously way died before 16 so thats why im pretty sure when the little girl sarina goes "..sixteen. your mean doctor" im pretty sure its cuz she knew realistically herself she probably wouldnt live that long and so she said he was mean for that. the doctor prolly kinda new himself she wouldnt live that long so i just think its was something to give her hope.

while to your eternity quickly stabs you on the back in less than 20 minutes, oshi no ko decided to invite you to an hour long 5 star dinner first.

I think she always loved them, that's exactly why she couldn't say "I love you" to them. Since her whole life is basically a lie she was scared to lie again, and that was the only thing she wanted to be true.

Her parents abandon Ai. but her name Ai means Love in japanese...

supplementary notes: - to be fair, doc said in the case of them possibly having big skulls - whether they'd fit through in a natural birth wasn't confirmed, though since she did give birth, looks like they went through just fine. - small detail, but to give a sense of scale, most everyone wants to perform at budokan - a venue that's for them at the cultural scale of people wanting to perform at madison square garden. that b komachi was already at budokan when sarina was a patient shows the degree of their popularity. so the 200k yen (about $1488 USD) is def crazy. the domes in japan, to my recollection, are usually for baseball and could seat tens of thousands of fans (IIRC tokyo dome has one of the largest concert capacities at 55k). for any artist to tour exclusively at the 6 major domes is really big. but also, for that degree of popularity, in terms of probability, creeps and stalkers are also so much more likely - deluded shut-ins who didn't talk to anybody (or only talked online in toxic cesspools). - when the twins had in-sync choreography, that wasn't entirely out of nowhere lol. that's wotagei, something common in idol culture (also anisong performers too), meant for the fans to add to the hype in a sort of feedback loop of fun - there's calls and chants, there's mixes, and there's moves (waza). stuff like the "oi! oi! oi!" that the other fans were the calls. there's mixes which are chants tossed in at the intro or instrumental break (i'd suppose the "babu babu babu babu" was a "babu" mix lol). and the waza, the moves they were doing, were also part and parcel of wotagei. - what the twins were waving around were UOs. ultra oranges, aka UOs, are super bright glowsticks. UOs get _very_ bright lol. they stay bright for only a few minutes, so you usually snap them right at the part of the song that gets you most hyped. if you look at the other fans, they have penlights, battery-powered lightsticks, noticable because of the handles. some may sell depending on a specific idol's color. but there's general penlights that can swap between several colors. - for a real life example that probably influenced this story, there was mayu tomita, who was left in critical condition after what happened to her, but she did survive since.

You have to watch it cuz the song's lyrics are written in Ai(who is twin's mom)'s perspective + MV is made in anime quality&design (Ai appears 😢). Oshi No Ko is deff one of the anime of the year. It really hit hard like I want to eat your pancreas type shet but this was just even more sad Ai was soo pure and didn't deserve this.I cried my eyes out as well that sudden change as she got stabbed just piano music mad either even more sad the star in her eyes going away and just seeing a corpse made it hit soo hard. Her saying I love you and realising that it wasn't a lie mad me soo depressed but happy at the same time, man bitter sweet things just idk how to describe it Great reaction overall love that you went in blind just as me hope we can talk about our thoughts about each episode. Your reaction was just like mine.

There is a somewhat important thought to keep in mind. Anything that Ai says may be taken to be a lie. Thus even her very last words, confirming that she wasn't lying when she said I love you to her children, could have been a lie, not to her children but to herself. Even in this... depressing... case there is something somehow noble about sticking to her lies to the very end.

The entertainment business is rough on stars to be honest... the star or actors don't get most of the money. Even if they do manage to make a lot of money... the company they work for makes more than that. This shows exposed the dark side to entertainment business and how competitive and cruel it's actually is. People assume idols make a lot of money a month... but forget everyone who works production gets paid. Company pay a lot of money to set up for the star to perform, the gas, water, janitors, music people. They make that money back from ticket sales and merchandise sales. Now take that info... and apply to every celebrity and sports athletes.

I cried so hard.

One of the best first episode

So here's my take, Ai was 16 when she got pregnant right? That means the person who impregnated her is very likely to be a pedo, and probably a famous actor too. The guy didn't want his reputation ruined so he ordered the stocker to kill her and the kids to erase all the evidence but since she was able to pull at his heart strings, the stocker panicked and ran before killing the kids.

An anime surpassing #1 spot on MyAnimeList is nothing new its happened multiple times, FMAB only stays at the top because of its die hard fanboys who review bombs any show that takes the spot

No clue what was really meant about the whole him marrying the patient, but I took it as the Dr just playing along with her trying to make her happy. Especially knowing her diagnosis and the most likely short lifespan. I could be way off and it could have just been super creepy, but I like to think it was just him indulging the little girl.

If you like being emotionally touched in animes I really suggest you to watch (and why not react on it ^^) the Made In Abyss series (in that precise order: season 1, movie Dawn of the Deep Soul and season 2). It has nothing to compare with Oshi No Ko (it happens in a "fantastic" world for example) but in my opinion, it is a must watch. And the OSTs are just from another world *.*

I will admit with other tear jerker anime this one takes the canidate for me I do still think JJK (bias) should be up there but im not going to talk about that right now. THis anime I cant wait for more the character designs, world building, the feels/emotion I was expecting to cry since I heard and seen thumbnails all over the internent but I did not expect to fully cry If u watched this anime and did not feel anything u be lying to urself ur not human!
