It's been a little while since I told you guys that Cody and I had called off our engagement and I've been overwhelmed with love and positivity from you guys. Today I wanted to check in, give you a bit of a mental health update, let you know how I'm coping with the breakup and what I'm planning to do now. It's a weird time in my life, starting over after losing everything all at once - my relationship, my apartment and my job. It's hard! But I'm dealing with all these changes the best I can and I hope if any of you guys are going through a breakup or a difficult time that this will help in some way.

Thanks for making this video. I commented earlier about my own breakup and, just like you, every day has been very hard for me. I didn't think your normal content following the engagement video meant that everything was okay, but it was still comforting to hear that you are struggling in the same ways I am. I think it's so wise that you've decided to give yourself time to heal and pursue your own goals. I am working on doing the same for myself. I hope you feel better soon!

How lovely to see you recovering from such a major heartbreak. You are clearly in the stages of mourning for what you had and what you anticipated. Good for you for having the clarity to realize your decisions were right at the time you made them and for the strength to make new decisions. In light of your personal losses and, indeed, the losses currently being experienced throughout the world taking time just to be and to sense who you are and what you see for your future is a wise decision. I just recently discovered your channel. I definitely think that your idea of writing a book is a great idea. I have been binge listening to you, and even before you mentioned the possibility of writing a book, I thought to myself as I was listening to you, I bet she would create a great book. Your thoughts are definitely inspiring, and they definitely deserve to be in a book. And with the available self-publishing avenues, it is very doable. Besides, writing is a very cleansing process.

I think it's amazing that you're so open. When I went through a hard time years ago, I was too ashamed I suppose to talk about it, and I pretended everything was fine. It's ok to not be fine! My younger self would have appreciated your video ☺. Hope you feel better slowly but surely.

Glad to see you sounding a little better than you did in your previous video, you are doing so well :-) To echo what I said in my last message on that other video, you have to allow time to process everything and do whatever you need to do to feel better - talk, cry, scream, get angry, sleep etc. You are right not to make any quick decisions, you really don't need to and it sounds like you have supportive parents. You said about not knowing who you are any more - that is shock. I experienced the same thing and almost like the world out there changed and became unrelatable to me. I really recommend you watch a video or two about how the Limbic System works - my counsellor recommended I do that and its very helpful to understand what is happening to you. Also to mention, on a more spiritual level, you may be being put on a different path whether you want it or not. Take time for yourself and just see where you find your thoughts and heart going towards. Take care xx

Thank you for sharing. Our experiences are a bit similar. I was living overseas and planned to move with someone but it went horribly wrong. We were married too. I was in a bit of a state and had to move back home and had no job. It was a big shock from riding high on the expat life. I'm over one year into separation now and it does get better. You are so wise to take time before making any big decisions about your life. Stay at home, if it is a place where you have love and support ,and take time to get back on your feet. So often we lose some of our identity in our work or in being pat of a couple, it's natural. When we lose that "definition" of who were are, we must take time to reframe our self identity and determine what we want before moving forward.

I am trying to have a normal life after my breast cancer, it is so difficult since my body has changed, but I will not give up. Sex is so hard now .... but ... I will fight for it. I think it's very sensible to give yourself plenty of time before looking into what to do next - the good sign is you're in a place to Start thinking about what to do next. And couch to 5k is a great goal for the short term - exercise is a good mood booster - boring but true!! 😄

I'd like to say...exercise is a great mood booster after the exercise is over. During the run, I feel like I'm about to collapse 😂 The good thing about that is a can't be sad when I run because I'm too focussed on how much my body hurts!

Oh Aimee you're such a doll. Everything will work out bit by bit don't worry and don't rush life. No one said we have to be okay every damn day. Sometimes it's healthier to sit all day, cry, think, eat chocolate and go clubbing :-) because we're human aren't we? Found your channel as I was researching about Bahrain. Thank you so much! You're so right - we're only human! I always found my jobs overseas on Google. I know that doesn't sound super helpful, but it always worked for me. Try Googling current vacancies or even find out the names of different places you'd like to apply to and contact them directly. Wishing you all the luck with your job search!

I actually like your look here. I needed one year to function normally again and leave with my kid to USA. So what you say totally makes sense. We don’t know why the engagement has been called off, it’s none of our business but according to the reason, it can make a difference in your mood and the time you need. Let’s say, and it’s just a make believe, that your ex fiancé decided that he didn’t want to get married anymore. Doing that just after you left everything for him doesn’t show a lot of maturity. So somehow, it’s the best thing which could happened to you because you avoided to be married to a very selfish and not serious guy... If you see it through this angle, it is a good thing. But this is just a supposition. What I mean, is that there always is a silver lining in any situation. And maybe your RU-vid channel will become big, so you will be able to go wherever you want. Imagine that!

Hey Aimee I love this video of you being you and sharing. You're right you need time out to evaluate to know your next move. I have a thought you could extend the content of your videos. You could become a brand truly. I mean you can multi task being a lady so the things you could do are endless. Let's see you could do the make up, the project Pan, fitness, plus you could teach us as you were a teacher. Or you can use your followers to help you on ideas for your book. I'm glad you were able to take time and that now you and your child are in a better position. That's awesome! You're right that you need to try to find a positive in every negative. I think my ex is the most wonderful person and I couldn't have asked for someone better suited for me. Life was just taking us in different directions. It's sad, but I'm trying to find the positive in all of this. Like you say, there's always a silver lining.
