28:30 In the book they explain that a patronus can change to match another’s, specifically the one we love. Lily Potter’s patronus was a doe. So when Dumbledore asks: “Lily… After all this time?” He is really asking: “You still love her… after all this time?”. If you rewatch the scene now a shiver will go down your spine as Snape say: “Always…”.

30:48 mark: A lot of people get confused with the scene involving the Resurrection Stone. It doesn't bring people back to life, only has the power to recall loved ones from the spiritual realm. Like in the story Hermione read to us, the 2nd brother thought he could use the stone to bring his bride back to life. But he soon realized that she is only a spirit (no body to live in) so she was in a sort of purgatory, not belonging to the living world but unable to "move on". This drove the brother to suicide in order to join her in the spirit realm. Harry can't use the stone even if he wanted to. He's dead, so how could he summon the spell to save himself? He can't do it ahead of time because he's not technically dead yet so it wouldn't work that way either. Side note: Yes, Harry technically died. That's why he no longer needed glasses to see clearly when he woke up at the 31:51 mark. Many viewers miss that. 🤓 33:13 mark: Narcissa realizes that Harry is still alive & so she asks 'Draco? Is he still alive?" If you look real close, you can see Harry's head barely move to give her a nod "yes". Once she knew Draco was still inside Hogwarts, she lied to Voldemort in order to get to Draco.. Narcissa was never evil. She only cares about her son & doesn't give a shit about Voldy's plans. So if you think back on it, you realize that Harry was saved twice by a mother's love for her child - first Lily & then Narcissa. 🥰

Your explanation as to him being dead would apply for a dream too. I am pretty sure he never died even though he could choose to by boarding the train. Assuming you read the books, (spoilers ahead), he still had his mother's protection and the elder wand belonged to him. Voldemort uses the wand to torture him with Crucio, and Harry realizes that it actually didn't hurt. That was the wand protecting Harry. Stands to reason that it would also not kill him. I do wish this was made clear in the movies.
@nod_jawk
@nod_jawk Месяц назад
If I remember well, in the last movie Harry lets the resurrection stone fall from his hand (on the ground of the forbidden forest) after he could see his parents and Sirius again, to comfort him as he thinks he's going to die. So he doesn't even have the resurrection stone with him when Voldemort casts the death spell on him. But the spell didn't kill Harry, he killed the part of Voldemort that was still living (as a horcrux) in Harry. Harry was just unconscious, or maybe in a semi-coma state but I doubt it, as he emerged quickly (because he nodded to Narcissa's question). My interpretation is that Harry was in shock as a side effect of the Avada Kedavra spell, making him faint a moment. During that moment, his mind made him dream of Dumbledore, which is why Harry said something like "all of this is in my head ?" and Dumbledore answered "Of course IT IS. But that doesn't mean it isn't real" (because that's an interpretation of Harry's mind, based on reality. The real question would be "to what point ?"). Every dream has a part of reality in it. So if you dream of an event, maybe it says something about the reality it is related too ;)

Harry survived from Voldemord's Avada Kedavra because it only killed the 1/7 of Voldemord's soul inside Harry, which is that bloody infant resembles Voldemord under the bench in the limbo (the heaven-alike King's Cross Station). The Resurrection Stone was used to see the dead ones you loved, not actually bringing someone back to live. Harry dropped it after using it to see his parents, Sirius, and Remus, because he didn't want to be too attached to the stone and thus moved on. All he needed to know is those loved one who passed away have been always with him in his heart.

@rafiki1017
@rafiki1017 Год назад
Yeah this is the plot hole. The worst plot hole in the series because the rest of the story is built on top of it. Harry wasn’t even supposed to be a horcrux. Firstly, you have to be intentional in creating a horcrux and Voldemort wasn’t when it happened with Harry. It gets worse. The only reason Harry is a horcrux is because Lily sacrificed herself. That’s sacrificial love, the most powerful form of love. So then you realize that the horcrux, the most evil object known to the wizarding world, is created directly out of Lily’s sacrifice, the most powerful form of love in the world. This is not only a plot hole that the whole story rests upon, but a mythological inconsistency. A greater good can come out of evil, but evil doesn’t really come from good. This is why when you really examine the Harry Potter mythology as a whole, it breaks down. If you’re looking for good mythology and good story, The Lord of the Rings is the best. Rowling has much to learn from Tolkien. And I say all this as a fan of both and as someone who grew up with Harry Potter and not The Lord of the Rings.

For clarity, because the movie isn't as clear as the books, Nacrissa asks Harry if Draco is still alive, because she can feel his heartbeat and knows that Harry is still alive. She doesn't answer to Voldemort anymore, she just cares about her son. Since Harry saved Draco in the Room of Requirement, he knew he was alive, so he was able to tell her that he is alive, thus causing her to lie to Voldemort. He was thwarted by a mothers love once again. Regarding how Harry came back, it had nothing to do with the Resurrection Stone. In the 4th book Voldemort uses Harry's blood to restore his body, which in turn caused Lily's protection charm to live on inside him. This means that Voldemort can NEVER kill Harry himself, he will always come back. Also fun fact: Harry dying in the forest cast the same protection spell on the entire school, so Voldemort could also not harm a single person himself.

Harry came back to life, because of Voldemort's ignorance, when he did the spell and used Harry's blood to come back to life, there in Goblet of Fire, Voldemort linked himself to Harry's blood, and the same protection as the Harry's mother put it on him, so Voldemort himself served as Harry's Horcrux, in other words, as long as Voldemort lives, Harry cannot die, unless he doesn't want to come back to life.

@@ThatBlackPiano From an interview with JK Rowling: “To truly own the Elder Wand, which means to receive the full benefits, double-edged though it is, of all its power, you have to have conquered the previous owner,” explained Rowling. At the end of Book 6, “Half-Blood Prince,” Draco disarmed Dumbledore before Snape killed Dumbledore. “And that meant he conquered him, even though Dumbledore was very weak at the time, he was very ill. He was on the point of collapse when it happened,” Rowling said. “Dumbledore didn’t want to lose his wand at that point and Draco disarmed him. So that meant that the wand gave Draco its allegiance, even though Draco never knew it, even though Draco never touched it. “From that moment on, that wand gave its allegiance to Draco, and it wouldn’t work as well for anyone but Draco.” When Harry wrestles Draco’s “everyday” wand out of his hand at the Malfoy’s mansion, he conquers Draco, and therefore the Elder Wand - hidden in Dumbledore’s tomb at the time - transfers its allegiance to Harry.

I remember finishing the book right before the movie (part 1) was released. My husband had been following the film franchise only. So when I told him that Snape was my favorite character in the series, he thought I had lost my mind. No honey, my mind was lost long before Harry Potter - LOL. 🤪 I just kept telling him "OK, you hate Snape with a passion. You're entitled to your own opinion." BUT in my head, I was thinking to myself "Yeah, juuuust waaaaait....." 🤐 When the reveal was shown, I wasn't watching the flashback scenes, I was watching my hubby's facial reactions as he slowly came to understand that Snape, although a very complex character with many dark traits, was actually a good guy & the unnamed hero of this whole damn saga. Yes, Harry was "the chosen one" but it was all made possible because of Snape's loyalty to Lily. Now you know the reason why millions of Harry Potter fans got tattoos that read "Always". By the way there wasn't a year gap between these two final films. It was 8 months- part 1 came out in November 19, 2010 then part 2 dropped on July 15, 2011. Now that you've finished the films, please check out all the behind the scenes videos talking about casting, costume/set designs, CGI & practical effects, blooper reels, & most importantly all the deleted scenes. There are videos on RU-vid that have compilations of all the deleted stuff. Oh, also back in January 2022 they released Harry Potter 20th Anniversary - Return to Hogwarts special on HBO. It was really good - a definite MUST SEE! There is one scene where "Hagrid" talks about how much the series meant to him & his kids. It was especially poignant because we lost Hagrid (aka Robbie Coltrane) last October. RIP Hagrid, it's not Hogwarts without you... 😢 But the biggest lost for me was when Alan Rickman passed away in 2016. I've been a fan of him since Die Hard came out in 1988. I can't believe it's been 7 years since he died. 💔 Before he played Snape, my favorite character he portrayed on screen was the over-the-top & completely looney, Sheriff of Nottingham in "Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves" (1991) starring Kevin Costner & Morgan Freeman. I know you're supposed to cheer for the "hero" Robin Hood & not the "bad guy", but I tell you, Alan's performance is riveting and hilarious! His character is my favorite part of the whole movie. 🤣

I have so enjoyed watching your reactions to these films. You are too stinkin' cute and I can't wait to see more. Just some quick answers--because you asked ;-) : Snape is definitely not Harry's father. James' Patronus was a stag and Lily's was a doe. In the books Harry says, 'Snape's Patronus was a doe...the same as my mother's, because he loved her for nearly all of his life, from the time when they were children'. Narcissa asks Harry if Draco is alive and he very quietly says "yes". At that point she just wants to get to her son so she tells Voldemort Harry is dead, knowing that Voledemort would immediately go to the castle to show off Harry's dead body to his enemies. At that point she no longer cared who won. I really, really hope you decide to read the books. There are so many things the movies simply don't have the time to explain. If you wanted to listen to them together I very much recommend the audiobooks narrated by Jim Dale. I know a lot of people like the Stephen Frye versions (and they are really good) but the Jim Dale is another level of wonderful. He has the kind of voice that really creates a mood and he does such distinct voices for every character that you know exactly who is talking, without even being told. Enjoy!

Then in 2007 we were waiting for Deathly Hallows book to be released. I read first 12 chapters to my daughter since the book on CD was not available in our local store yet. Once she got the book on CD we were racing each other to get to the end. After finishing, I woke her to say I was finished about 11 am. The resurrection stone DOESN'T BRING BACK TO LIFE, we saw in the previous part in the story of the 3 brothers how it works, and it works as follows: it can summon a person from beyond the grave just like Harry summoned his parents, Sirius and Lupine, but he didn't resurrect them and didn't give them life again only he could summon them in the form of a kind of spirit, but they did not belong to the world of the living. Harry survived because Voldemort, when reborn in the 4th part, used Harry's blood, the same blood that flowed in the veins of his mother and through her sacrifice gave protective power. Dumbledore knew that Harry must die because he is a Horcrux, but he also knew that if Harry was resigned to death and his fate and was willing to sacrifice, then Voldemort would only kill the part of his soul in Harry, not Harry himself, and thus he could return . Dumbledore didn't tell Harry this because if Potter knew it would survive his sacrifice wouldn't be sincere and thus he couldn't return, so Dumbledore kept it to himself. The resurrection stone itself DOES NOT RETURN LIFE, and Dumbledore gave it to Harry in a snitch with the signature, "I open at the close" so that Harry could just before meeting Voldemort, being reconciled with death, meet his loved ones to give him comfort before what he must become. And when Harry had supposedly died and in fact Voldemort only destroyed part of his soul in Harry, Narcissa Malfoy Draco's mother came over to check if he was dead, she noticed he was alive so she asked him if Draco survived the battle, Harry nodded yes and then Narcissa lied to Voldemort saying that the boy dies saving him for Harry saving her son earlier. It is worth noting the behavior of the Malfoys during the Battle of Hogwarts. They didn't fight at all, they just focused on finding their son and that's all that mattered to them, so Lucius tried to persuade Voldemort to stop the attack on the school because Draco was in it, and Narcissa, when she found out that he survived, lied to Voldemort. After Harry was revealed to be alive and the Malfoys had already found Draco, they left Voldemort and left. So they weren't entirely evil and served Voldemort out of fear and willingness to be on the winning side, not like Bellatrix who was his blindly obedient follower.

Starting at the 23:24 mark we see a visual recap of the first 3 films. As the trio run out of Hogwarts & through the courtyard, they are chased by a troll (Sorcerer's Stone), then giant spiders (Chamber of Secrets), & finally they see the werewolf, Fenrir Greyback attacking a student (Prisoner of Azkaban). The dead student wasn't Colin Creevey (the photographer); that was Lavender Brown, Ron's first girlfriend who always wanted to "snog" Ron all the time.

I noticed no one answered your question at the 3:58 mark regarding Griphook wanting the Sword of Gryffindor. They never say it (in the films) but the sword was made by goblins centuries ago & because of that, it is enchanted with powerful magic. Goblins have a different definition of "ownership" than humans (wizards in this case). There is a long standing history of ownership disputes & bad blood between the goblins & Godric's heirs after he died.

The sword of Gryffindor was made by Goblins, by a very famous one thy I cannot remember his name now…😅 Now, the sword was made for Gryffindor and he purchased it from the Goblin BUT according to the goblin laws after the death of the owner who payed for the thing made by the goblins, that thing must to be returned to the Goblins! It’s not something that your family can keep or inherit to someone! After Gryffindor’s death the goblins tried many times to retrieve the sword but they couldn’t… The sword left to the office of the Headmaster of Hogwarts and it could present itself to any worthy Gryffindor student. Griphook wanted to take back that precious Goblin treasure! *Something very important* We see a lot of times that Voldemort felt weaker and weaker when a Horcrux was destroyed… BIG FOUL! Voldemort couldn’t feel anything when a Horcrux was destroyed! He never told to his snake that the boy discovered our secret etc At learnt it at the very very end and he kept Nagini-the snake into a magical sphere to protect her until he was sure Harry was dead. Voldemort was sooo cocky that he believed that only he discovered the dark magic of the Horcruxes. He thought that no one could ever discover his secret! Bellatrix informed the goblins that someone might attempt to enter to her vault! That’s why the Goblins knew. The High-security vaults belonged to the wealthiest (and pure-blood) magical families. Only them had dragons for protection! Also, inside their vaults there were enchantments like this. The bailable things would start to multiply creating many fake replicas of the items so you don’t know which one was the real one. Also, the plates, goblets and gold coins started to burn like hot iron (another enchantment) and when they got out of the vaults they were in pain and full of scars, blisters and wounds and injuries! Ron and not copied what Harry was saying in his sleep. To enter the Chamber didn’t had to be a parseltongue! If you could imitate the hissing sounds the door would also open. That showed a weakness of Slytherin and Voldemort. They believe me that they were the only ones sooo intelligent to think so thing like that! He didn’t bother to our more security, just the ability to speak to snakes. That was a gift running only to his bloodline. That was the room of requirement! The room could take many “forms” like whatever the student needed the most. When they needed a place to practice it appeared as a training ground, when Neville wanted to hide from those bullies the room appeared as a hiding room. Form the first days of its existence, many students wanted to hide something for others so everyone was finding that room when he wanted a place to hide something. Through the centuries the room with these hidden belongings looked like that! When Tom Riddle visited Hogwarts to ask from Dumbledore to hire him as the defence against the dark arts teacher (and Dumbledore said no) before he left he went to the room of requirement and hide the Ravenclaw diadem in there! That fire spell taking the forms of animals wasn’t a simple spell, it’s was the same that Voldemort used at his duel with Dumbledore! It’s the Fiendfyre and it was mixed with Dark Magic! The fire was so intense with its mixture with the dark magic that Fiendfyre and the Basilisk venom were the ONLY TWO things that could destroy a Horcrux! In the books the diadem was destroyed by Fiendfyre not with the tooth! Crabbe used that spell but he couldn’t control it. He tried to stop it but that was very advanced dark magic so he just threw his want and they started to run! Fiendfyre was a spell that even many dark wizards don’t used because Ethel were afraid of it. That fire couldn’t be stop with water, only the caster of the spell had to know who to control it! Snape’s memories…🥲🥲🥲 The biggest redemption of a character ever! We loved him after his died🥲 Snape and Lily grew up together as friends. During all the years at Hogwarts they were close friends. At the final year she made it James and they became a couple. Snape was soooo jealous that his biggest enemy and his bully got the girl that he was crazy in love! But he never told anything to anyone. Snape joined the Death-Eaters and he was that Death-Eater who heard the prophecy about Voldemort’s downfall from Trelawney! Snape thought that if Voldemort kill James he could have Lilly but Voldemort turned against both of them and he wanted to kill all of them. That’s why Snape went to Dumbledore and ask him to hide them all, to protect Lilly. Then all this happened with Sirius, Wormtail and his betrayal and Voldemort found them. It’s a bit off that they chose a bit older actors because when James and Lilly died were around 21-22 years old and these two great actors were a bit too old but… ok! Snape was protected Harry form Day 1 but he was also angry because he looked so much like his father… Also, we don’t know the original form of Snape’s patronus because it changed into a doe because of his live for Lilly! Snape sent his patronus to lead Harry and Hermione to the sword and he was that placed a face sword into Bellatrix’s vault, giving the original one to Harry. Dumbledore planed his death when we got that curse from the Horcrux-ring. Snape delayed his death with a potion but it was inevitable. When he found out that Voldemort sent Draco to kill him he plant it this way so Draco won’t be a killer! One of my favourite characters… Narcissa!💙 Narcissa realised that Harry was alive and asked him is Draco was alive too because she wasn’t at the battle in the castle. Harry moved his head answering yes, Draco is alive. Narcissa then lied to Voldemort saying so they go to Hogwarts, take her son and leave! She never cared about Voldemort’s wars and ideas! She never became a Death-Eater. She only cared for her son! When she got Draco they left, that’s why they considered not guilty at the end. They redeemed themselves saying that it was because of their families and Bellatrix… that had to “stay at the side” of Voldemort.

The Resurrection Stone was at the Ring of Voldemort’s mother. Harry and Tom Riddle were related, their both families had an heirloom from the three Peverell Brothers, the original owners of the Deathly Hallows! Voldemort’s family had the stone Harry’s family had the cloak The Wand had a bloody History. Each owner won it from the previous one and killed him! It ended up to Dumbledore’s hands when he won it from his friend Grindelwald. Voldemort never knew that this stone one the ring was a deathly hallow! He wouldn’t even care if he knew. The ring band had became the Horcruxc, the stone being a Hallow wasn’t affected by the Horcrux magic and that why it worked even after the destruction of the ring! Now, the Stone cannot save you from being killed! It doesn’t work like that. The stone only brings “shadows” empty shells of dead people so you can see them and talk with them. It cannot created bodies and actually being them back! Harry threw away the stone before he met Voldemort. What it actually saved him was the protection of him mother’s sacrifice. Voldemort didn’t killed Harry but the piece of his own soul inside Harry! That’s why Harry came back! *Harry never broke the Elder wand* After what happened Harry used the want to fix his original wand. He managed to do it and Harry keep his original wand from Ollivander! Harry returned the Elder wand to Dumbledore’s grave. He also threw away the Stone never to be found again. He only kept the cloak as an heirloom of his family! No one knew about about the Elder wand and even if they knew, they couldn’t know that it was Dumbledore’s! He placed it there to remain hidden forever! Voldemort killed Snape to gain the authority over the Elder wand but the wand never belonged to Snape! Before Snape killed him, Draco disarmed him! That was a winning over the previous owner so the Elder wand was loyal to Draco. Then, Harry disarmed Draco and… it was Harry’s!

Snape was not Harry's dad. He was in love with Lily though, and his Patronus was the same as Lily's because of that. I also feel like Snape did love Harry as well, since he was Lily's son and had her eyes. I feel for Snape, he cared for Harry but was always reminded of James when he looked at Harry and James was a bully to Snape and married the girl he loved. About the stone, remember Dumbledore left the Snitch to Harry on his will (the Malfoys had nothing to do with it). So, when you stop and think about it, Dumbledore had all the Deathly Hallows (he had the cloak, the stone and the wand).

At 23:40 ish when Fenrir Greyback (a werewolf) was indulging in his prey, that was Lavender Brown, the girl that was all over Ron snogging him constantly during Half-Blood Prince. It was not the photographer boy. Aboyt 28:30 the doe. Was Lily's patronus, but Snape loved Lily so much, he had the same patronus as her. 33:20 when Narcissa Malfoy was talking to Harry, she could tell he was alive and breathing quietly. She asked Harry if Draco was alive and when he nodded, she lied to Voldemort. She has motherly compassion, but has a rotton husband and family, she helped Harry, especially after him saving Draco. You will learn in the books about a "life debt". 34:30 notice how Draco doesn't go when his father calls him, but responds when his mother does. He doesn't want to follow in his father's footsteps. 39:25 that is why Dumbledore allowed Draco to disarm him and let Snape kill him. Voldemort didnt know wand lore. Also there is a surprise you will find out in the book that Harry does with the Elder Wand using it to cast a spell. I'll let you learn about it when you read it. So keeping it a surprise and hope no one else spoils it. Now remember, all three of the Deathly Hallows belonged to Harry. The wand belonged to him, he had the cloak and the stone, he was a master of death. DEFINITELY read the books. There is a lot. Including a BIGGER battle in Half Blood Prince. A lot more action with Dobby and with Kreacher who is very involved in the battles as well. Now as you mentioned, you got to see these back to back. We had to wait a YEAR!!! Watching 1 midnight show then waiting a year for the next midnight movie. Over 1000 people were waiting at the movie theater to get in. My favorite part about Voldemort's death was the fact that despite being the greatest evil wizard alive, he ultimately meets his demise by returning practically to a puff of smoke, as if he had never been anything more than a bad dream all along. Just that juxtaposition of his extreme power and the way he was so easily destroyed once all of his lifesources were no longer available to him always fascinates me. at the 12:10 mark if you pay attention, Snape never casts a spell against McGonagall. It's not that he fears her but rather he respects her as she is a member of the Order like he was. He only blocks her attacks & again, look real close & you'll see him deflect her spells to the two figures standing behind him. Those are the Carrow twins & they are Deatheaters who are in charge of student discipline. Neville mentions that as they walk through the tunnel to Hogwart's Room of Requirement. Also, right before Snape flies out of the window, he quickly grabs each of the Carrows' wands too. It happens in a flash so you'll have to rewind & watch it again to catch all those little hidden "Easter egg" clues to Snape's real character. Note - McGonagall telling Flich to take all the Slytherin students to the dungeons is really not a big deal. They never mention it in the films, but the Slytherin dorms & common room are in a secret location hidden near the dungeons of Hogwarts. In the film, they are shown being locked in a cell & then breaking right out - LOL! Please remember that not all Slytherins are evil as they portray in the movies. There have been several dark wizards/witches who happened to have been in Slytherin House as students, but that doesn't make all Slytherins bad. It is a stereotype & no one ever mentions the fact that there have been numerous good Slytherins, some fought against Voldemort. A few examples of good Slytherins - Prof. Slughorn, Prof. & headmaster Snape, Regulus Black (Sirius' little brother), Narcissa Black (later Malfoy), Andromeda Tonks (Narcissa & Bellatrix's sister), and many more in the history of the wizarding world. Don't forget the Sorting Hat wanted to place Harry in Slytherin because he had the traits that Salazar Slytherin valued most - ambition, determination, & resourcefulness. I am a proud member of Slytherin House! 🐍

So funny you mentioned reading the books out loud to each other. My daughter and I did this when she was little and the books and movies were being released. Midnight releases of all of them after the 3rd as she wasn't old enough until then. That said, the memories of those house spent snuggling up with bed picnics while we took turns reading out loud to each other are absolutely priceless. I highly suggest reading them or even listening on audiobook. There is just so much more information. There are entire storylines that never show up in the movies that just make this a world that is even fuller and richer and more complex. From Harry and Dumbledore having disagreements to Hermione actually doing some sketchy crap occasionally to things l ike Dobby being in nearly every book but not movies, and Ginny and Harry's relationship being much, much more developed, etc. The books will only expand your love of the world and the people in it. Every single character really is that mix of light and dark that Sirius talked about in the books and they don't really shy from making that part of the story. Even Harry has moments where he has cause to feel truly bad for things he does and says even if his motivations may have been good. I hope you will read them and maybe do a 'book club' sort of series of videos so you can talk with us all about the things you discover and what you think of it all with the entire plot and story.

My favorite short moment in this movie is when Voldemort realizes Harry is alive. A very short scene, but I love it so much...An intence closeup of pure confusion and fear on Voldemort's face...He desperately tries to blow one hall after the other in a sheer pathetic desperation to catch Harry.. He wasted all his life on finding a key to immortality, tried to be the fearsome legend..But yet the kid he had failed to kill all those years ago is brought back to life..Not only did he failed to kill him AGAIN, Harry managed to do what he couldn't - he cheated death in the most purest way... And there he is, once menacing and powerful Dark Lord, trembling in fear and screaming in the void, once again unable to kill the same person, as his men left him behind in a cowardly escape, realizing their defeat..

Ok, my last comment, I promise! It's hard to refrain because you guys get confused or mistaken about certain facts & it feels like we're sitting in the same room so I want to clarify as soon as you mention something - LOL. 😄 In the scene where the Malfoys walk away, they didn't give Harry the stone, as he dropped it in the forest before he showed up at Voldy's camp. So they had no idea where it was or that Harry even had it in the first place. The stone only works to bring back your loved ones. Harry was never a "loved" one of the Malfoy family. There is a deleted scene that they should have kept in the film which shows Draco's redemption. Right after Harry tumbles out of Hagrid's arms, revealing that he's still alive, Draco actually calls out "Potter!" as he throws his wand to Harry to use. We only see a brief flash of Harry using the wand to cast a spell against Nagini, but the spell rebounded & hit Deatheaters standing behind her. That's what causes the remaining followers to defect from Voldy & run away.

Harry couldn't be killed by Voldermort because of two reasons. One Voldermort has some of Harrys blood in his own veins therefore twining himself to Harry through of all things Lilys love whch protected harry in the first place. Also Voldermort was ignorant about the Elder wand having elegance to Harry, not Snape as he had presumed. As the Elder wand belonged to harry a wand cannot be used to kills it owner. The only thing it did kill was the horcux wthin Harry.

Use your brains! The whole series Harry is being told that he looks like his dad: James Potter not Snape! The resurection stone only brings images of love ones, it only served to strengthen Harry's resolve and be a part of the united Hallows (master of death. Although Voldemort had the wand, he was not master of it. Harry was the master of all 3. The main reason Harry didn't die was Voldemort had Harry's blood in him from when he was regenerated. Lilly's ancient majic continued to protect Harry and he did similar: but see the books for this.

Snape is not Harry's father. Snape's patronus is the same as Harry's mother because she was his one true love, even if she only saw him as a friend. When Voldemort asks Draco's mother to check if Harry is dead, she sees he's alive and asks him if Draco is still alive, then because of this lies to Voldemort that Harry is dead. The Resurrection Stone is just to bring back loved ones, not to resurrect yourself.

6:51 Imperio is one of the three unforgivable curses by the way. Harry and Ron used that unforgivable spell to that Goblin to control him. Then later on at (38:04), Ron used the killing curse (Avada Kedavra) on Nagini before Neville killed her with the sword of Gryffindor. Also, while typing this comment 9 minutes into the reaction, we just got hit with quite a strong earthquake so I have to stop watching for a moment to check on the house since I'm the only one awake. No damages, but I can't say the same to other affected nearby towns and villages.

The reason why Griphook wanted the sword is because of who he saw that was its true owner. For goblings, everything that was gobling-made belonged to the goblins, no matter who purchased the object in question. To them, the buyer is merely "borrowing" the object and, once they die, the object in question must be returned to the goblins and not be passed down. Since Godric Gryffindor's sword was made by goblins, the latters saw it as belonging to the goblins and not to Gryffindor. In fact, its creator (a goblin that was deemed the King) took so much pride on its creation that, when Godric Gryffindor got the sword from him, he pretended the wizard stole it from him and sent his minions to steal it back. Of course Gryffindor defended himself and threatened the goblins to use the sword against them if they insisted, what caused the creator to give up on his efforts, but always resenting Gryffindor.

Harry was able to survive due to a few things. Although the movies skip over it, the book basically says that the reason Harry survives is because Voldemort used his blood to remake his own body. Thus keeping the protection from Lily alive in Voldemorts blood. Effectively, after that moments Harry couldn’t die while Voldemort was alive.

32:37 A Patronus can change on different factors. But guess in Snape's case, his undying love for Lily is why his patonus has been a doe right from the start. 33:23 After Narcissa checked if Harry was alive, she whispered and asked if Draco was alive, and Harry weakly nodded. When she knew that Draco was alive, she decided to go against Voldemort and lied to him about Harry being dead. 35:13 Harry wasn't resurrected by the stone. People have multiple theories as to how Harry survived the curse, but the stone wasn't the reason.

I mean. The last book and the ending is a bit too vague for my liking overall. So to say. I actually do think JK did that on purpose, and it's sort of smart but it's still a liiiiittle bit too vague. I think most people take it as canon that the Elder Wand was Harry's and therefore would not kill him. But Voldemort being so powerful it still does his bidding for the most part, so he could cast the killing curse but it only killed the part of his own soul inside Harry. I remember the book being more clear and fleshed out but it was a long time ago and I still thought it was vague. The movie however doesn't translate well the wandlore, myth and logic behind the magic of the HP-world. As shown in many reactions, it's confusing. Now to the reason I actually decided to respond in the first place. xD Your last paragraph is a bit... well weird. Since one of those "multiple theories" people actually do have is that at that very last moment Dumbledore reveals the Resurrection Stone to Harry. Making him the "current owner" of it, along with the theorized cloak (never confirmed), and lastly the Elder Wand is his as well (more or less confirmed). Making him the theoretical "master of death". Now that theory is a good little conundrum imo. It's cool writing to let the reader assume and or decide for themself if they believe the myth of the Deathly Hallows as told in the famous fairytale, or if to take it only as folklore/myth. I don't like how vague it is as a whole though. I wish at least that the logic behind each theory and the reader's choices were a wee bit more clear. So we could discuss what we think instead of debating whether the author's logic actually makes sense, and what not. ;-)

Everyone seems to misinterpret what the Resurrection Stone even does. It doesn’t bring people back to life, it lets the user speak to a loved one kinda like a ghost. Also, Narcissa defies Voldemort by lying to him because Harry saved Draco. It’s supposed to illustrate one of the overarching themes: love conquers all.

I loved your reactions 😻❤️ The part where Harry comes back to life is quite confusing. Here's how it went down - When Voldemort killed Harry, both Harry's soul and Voldemort's part of soul (which was inside Harry) were both sent to a place between life and death. Harry had a choice of either sending his own soul or Voldemort's soul onwards to the afterlife. He chose to depart with Voldemort's soul and came back to life. 😇 And the patronus - Patronuses take that form which is similar or related to the person you love. Since Lilly's patronus was a doe (female deer).. Snape's was also a doe. Lily's husband James's was a stag (male deer) and hence Harry's is a stag as well.

I think he chose to look at Jame’s side of Harry to keep up the act. (He stated as much to Dumbledore when he committed himself to protecting Lily’s son) His genuine care for Lily and her family was exhibited earlier in the memory. At his end , he chose to focus on lily’s side of Harry as his source of comfort before his passing.

Hermione was the third person after Dumbledore & Snape (before Harry himself) who knew that Harry was also one of the Horcruxes. Remember she was given the book by Dumbledore (The Tale of Beetle The Bard). Hermione was probably found out about it before they went to the Gringgot Bank. Dumbledore purposely gave that book to her knowing Hermione was always smart & would was always a step ahead of everyone else especially Harry & Ron. It was really heartbreaking when Harry said to her that 'I guess you have too...'

The Prince's Tale, which is the Chapter in the book looking at Snape's memories, is a complete game changer, because it finally reveals everything that has been going on behind the scenes from the very beginning. Snape is one of the deepest and most complex characters in literature, and secretly one of the most powerful wizards in the world. In fact, Dumbledore (The Archmage), Voldemort (Master of the Dark Arts), Snape (Master of Mental Magic), and Harry (Master of Death) are all the most powerful wizards of the respective generations. (Voldemort is actually about 30 years older than Snape.)

Harry also cast that same ancient magic on his friends there at hog warts when he chose to sacrifice himself. But because it blanketed so many people it was possibly not as strong as the one his mother placed on him. Severus’ deep love for Lily is what made his patrons the same as Lily’s and because he could see Lily in Harry he became attached to Harry and cared for him but could never display it.

You ask why would Griphook want the Sword: The Sword of Godric Gryffindor is goblin-made. 'Historically', there was dispute about who should own it, and the goblins always wanted it back. I expect it's a matter of 'reparations' or goblin pride to get it back in goblin hands. Ollivander is correct about not standing a chance against Voldemort having the Elder Wand. If Voldemort is its true master. But he isn't. There's a technicality that no one knows. I believe it was part of Dumbledore's Master Plan to defeat Voldemort. Part of being a Great Wizard is strategy, which itself includes knowledge of the facts, the function, and the psychology. Dumbledore knew these things and even put things in place and in motion that would continue and succeed even after his death. The dragon guarding the vaults does not 'sense' pain when he hears the noise, he's simply been trained to EXPECT pain when he hears that noise. It's a simple Pavlovian training technique used in labs and training centers in the Real Life world (Pavlov's training dogs to salivate by associating food with a bell being sounded?). The flag in Harry's flash of vision showed the crest of the House of Ravenclaw. That's how he knew the next horcrux was at Hogwarts. The mirror, whose shard Harry had been carrying, was originally from the Black mansion (the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix). Mundungus Fletcher had been allowed into the original Order by Dumbledore because Dumbledore had earned Mundungus's loyalty by helping him. But other members didn't trust him, seeing him as a thief who resold stolen and faked goods. Turns out they were justified; once Dumbledore was dead, Mundungus had no loyalty to anyone but his own benefit. With Sirius dead, Mundungus stole goods from the Black mansion to sell, including this mirror. Serious had used a shard from it to stay in communication with anyone at the Order's headquarters. Harry had inherited the Black Mansion as well as the shard. Inheriting the mansion meant he was now Kreacher's master, which is why Kreacher obeyed Harry. Aberforth bought the mirror, which turned out to be fortuitous, as he tells Harry when he saves him from discovery in Hogsmeade. The story of Dumbledore beloved sister, the Dumbledore family, the 3 muggle murders, Grindelwald, and possibly why Dumbledore felt compelled to help the orphan Tommy Riddle is found elsewhere, in books and the Fantastic Beasts franchise. You edited out the duel between Snape and McGonagall. Did you catch that Snape only used defensive actions? McGonagall was the aggressor, and Snape only deflected. Snape is an accomplished wand-duelist; he could have easily won that fight, but didn't. And his deflections took out the Carrow siblings standing behind him. His disapparation was also unusually lengthy and floppy; it is speculated that he collected the Carrows' wands before crashing through the window to freedom, leaving the Carrows unarmed. Hogwarts is a castle that became a school around 900-1000 AD. The dungeons have not been used for their original purpose for centuries; their space has been repurposed for the Slytherin House common room and sleeping quarters. Recall that when they held Sirius for return to Azkaban, he was jailed in an unused upper tower. When McGonagall directed Filch to escort Slytherin students to the dungeon, it was NOT to hold them in cells, but to remove them from compromised loyalty and emotional dissonance in the coming fight. Most Slytherins would see their parents attacking Hogwarts, would be asked to fight next to them, asked to gather intel, see their parents injured or dead. Every time, EVERY TIME, I see that calm before the first Great Battle begins, where we see Fred & George and Remus & Kingsley up in the upper reaches of Hogwarts Castle...I am put in mind of a biblical passage: Matthew 24: 40-42 "Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." Voldemort recovers from the Hufflepuff Goblet being destroyed, another part of his soul killed. Notice, once again, there is resistance and cracking in the wand Voldemort is using. Wands focus and channel the wielder's magical ability, their will. They function like pipes: -Kink them, the flow is distorted -Crack or break them, they leak But a wand forced to do what the wand will not accept (like when used by someone NOT their master), and they can 'clog', crack, and break. Voldemort MUST be seeing there's some sort of mismatch going on that must be resolved. And there IS a mismatch, created by Dumbledore. Helena Ravenclaw had sent Harry to the Room of Requirement to locate her mother's Diadem. Draco's been through A LOT. Seeing his father weak and desperate, seeing Lucius cringing terrified and unable to refuse Voldemort ANYTHING including his own home and wand, seeing how his father's belief in 'might is right' leads to chaos and pain. Even the so-called 'honor' of serving Voldemort comes with death threats and harming people he cares about. Draco has no more stomach for his father's ways. Draco began to reconsider standing at that sink in the boys lavatory, when he saw Katie freshly-recover from the cursed necklace and heard of Ron nearly killed by the poisoned mead. He was further pushed seeing his father cringing from Voldemort. Staring at Harry disfigured to hide his identity from the Snatchers moved Draco to take a small step, to commit a modicum of resistance. And in the Room of Requirement, he could not bring himself to attack Harry. The hate that Draco demonstrated in breaking Harry's nose had been burned out by everything unspeakable that had occurred since, not the least being this attack on Hogwarts itself. Draco was not the same person. Voldemort doesn't really understand wand lore; he doesn't know how they work. Death of the previous master is not required to change a wand's loyalty. Wands are representative magically of the wizard's/witch's will. They represent power and respond to whoever is most powerful. If a wizard/witch is disarmed in a wand-duel, the wand loses all respect for the loser and switches allegiance to the winner. You don't have to die, just lose. Snape knows this, but doesn't correct Voldemort; he protects that secret with gaslighting Voldemort. It costs Snape his life. Snape did not duel Dumbledore; he killed him, but it was Draco that Dumbledore ALLOWED to disarm him. DRACO won the Elder Wand in that intentionally half-hearted duel. Draco just didn't collect Dumbledore's wand, so it was buried with him. Buried with it was the secret that it was Draco who was its true master. Then Harry wrestled away Draco's wand just before Dobby apparated everyone to the seaside Shell Cottage. Harry had disarmed Draco. Even though the Elder Wand was laying with Dumbledore in his tomb, the Wand again changed loyalty to the person who had bested Draco: Harry. By the time Harry spoke to Ollivander at the Shell Cottage, the Emder Wand recognized only Harry as its master. And a wand, if not won from its master, will not kill its master. Dumbledore KNEW Voldemort would search for and find the Elder Wand, and he knew Voldemort would use it to try to finally kill Harry, so put in motion the means to keep the Elder Wand from accepting Voldemort as its true master. When the snitch 'opens at the close', what floats out if the Resurrection Stone. The second horcrux, the one Dumbledore found and destroyed was a ring handed down as a relic from Tom's mother's family; she was a descendant of Salizar Slytherin, one of the Four Founders of Hogwarts, Tom Riddle was indeed the heir of Slytherin. You see Tom playing with the ring in Slughorn's true memory. The stone in that ring was the Resurrection Stone. And Dumbledore placed it in the snitch for Harry to access at the proper time. It will not stop death, it could never do that, but it can summon back those who have died, those of special importance to you. It can't give them life, but it will allow you to speak with them. Harry 'wakes' in a between state. He's been cleansed of the piece of Voldemort's soul that had been parasitized in him; Harry is free of being a horcrux. Harry could not be killed by his own Elder Wand and the Resurrection Stone does not bring people back to life; the Stone summons the spirits of the dead, but does not provide them a physical body to sustain them. Besides, the Stone had been left lost on the forest floor. What Voldemort did was kill the piece of his own soul that had resided in Harry. Harry, as the revisiting Dumbledore tells him, has the choice of leaving the life he knew (boarding a train and going On) or returning to it. When Narcissa Malfoy goes over to check whether Harry died, she whispers a question: "Is Draco alive?" All she has been concerned about all through this travesty her husband has committed the family to is whether she can keep a low enough profile to keep his son alive. She had Snape make the Unbreakable Vow to help with that and now she asks Harry if Draco is still safe in Hogwarts. Receiving a barely perceptible nod from Harry, she stands and LIES to Voldemort that Harry is dead. She does this because it's the only way she can get to Hogwarts and extricate Draco. Narcissa had more balls than Lucius ever did. Let's be clear: Draco does not cross the area to join Voldemort. He doesn't cross to join his father, who wants Draco to join him and Voldemort. Draco only responds to Narcissa saying, simply, "Come". As soon as Harry rolls out of Hagrid's arms and Voldy's followers start getting mowed down, Narcissa takes Draco's hand and they quick-step firmly away as a unit, with Lucius furtively trying to keep up and watching his own back.

According to goblins, anything made by goblins belongs to goblins. Godric Gryffindor's sword was essencially "borrowed" until his death, at which point the goblins would expect the rightful return of the commissioned object. Obviously, wizards don't see ownership in the same manner; which has been a point of contention between the to parties for centuries (over many, many series of objects).
